00:001st corinthians chapter 12
00:03each wednesday we go through a chapter we're in first corinthians
00:10so in first corinthians chapter 12 verse 1
00:13the bible said it reads now concerning spiritual gifts
00:17brethren i would not have you ignorant
00:21you know that you were gentiles carried away into these dumb
00:25idols even as you were led so carried away
00:29means that they were swayed um any if you remember uh chapters ago we talked
00:35about that the bible was saying any idol was anything
00:40that wasn't part of the trinity anything that didn't have to do with
00:44god the father the son jesus christ you've got uh people who worship
00:49a fat man in a diaper buddha uh you got other different kinds of
00:55religions uh hindus they worship snakes and ladies with snake tongues and all
01:01this stuff all of them are idols and what the bible
01:04constantly talks about in the old testament god mocks idols because they cannot
01:09speak in fact in jeremiah he's talking about the hebrews because
01:14they're going to idols and that's what dumb means you know we we use the word dumb improperly
01:20sometimes we say hey that's dumb what dumb really means is somebody who cannot speak
01:25uh that's why he's saying dumb idols
01:28in verse 3 wherefore i give you to understand that no man speaking by the spirit of god
01:38calleth jesus a curse and that no man can say that jesus is the lord but by the holy ghost now i'm
01:45going to read that to you again because this is a very important verse i want you to underline this
01:48and keep this in your memory wherefore i give you to understand that no man speaking by the spirit of god
01:56calleth jesus a curse so no religion out there that curses jesus and says that he's not the savior
02:04or that he didn't come in the flesh what does that mean they're cursing jesus uh keep your finger
02:10there and go to first john chapter four
02:14any spirit people say well they're speaking in the spirit well we should discern the spirit and the
02:29way you discern it is that they're cursing jesus i.e the judaism religion the jews god
02:36shows people what do they believe they believe that jesus is still burning in hell
02:40and burning excrement they think he's burning in doo-doo right now that's what they think because
02:44he said he's the son of god is that cursing jesus uh yeah it is
02:48so any religion any person they're not speaking in the spirit of god because they're cursing jesus
02:56make sure you understand it look at first john four verse one beloved believe not every spirit
03:02but try the spirits whether they are of god because many false prophets are gone out into the world
03:08hereby know ye the spirit of god every spirit that confesses that jesus christ is coming the flesh is of
03:15god so everybody that believes that jesus came on this earth in the flesh is of god and every spirit
03:24that confesses not that jesus christ has come in the flesh is not of god so any spirit that says
03:31hey i don't believe that jesus came in the flesh i don't believe that jesus is god i don't believe he's
03:36the savior what are they not of god and this is the spirit that is what of antichrist now we think of the word
03:46anti as against so sometimes you say hey you're anti-abortion or anti this or anti that that means
03:54against but really the word antichrist just means in the place of christ now obviously the devil is
04:00against christ but we need to think we don't ever think about a religion in the place of jesus christ
04:06that's what anti means so any any religion out there that's what we got to try the spirit
04:12i don't care they come out with a new religion called hoogity boogity
04:16if they don't believe that jesus is the savior they don't believe he came in the flesh
04:20it's not of god make sure you understand that
04:23because there's plenty of antichrists already in the world
04:27that's why uh go back to first corinthians 12
04:31so any religion that curses jesus
04:36not of god you hear all these people they'll say hey these hebrews these people in israel over
04:43there they prayed to god and this happened and blah blah blah and then you realize that they hate
04:47jesus christ just like every jew out there judaism is a religion and not a race because you've been
04:55you can become a jew you can become a jew if you wanted to become a jew you could go to the rabbi
05:01which bible says not to call any man rabbi and you could say hey i want to convert to judaism well
05:07here's a newsflash folks you can't change your race i can't go out i can go out there and paint
05:12myself you know michael jackson he tried to do he tried to make himself white but it didn't work out
05:16you can't change your race newsflash you can't change your sex
05:19you can chop off glue off whatever you want to do but it's not going to change the dna that's inside
05:25of you that says you're a male or a female that that just don't work um verse four now there are
05:31diversities means lots of gifts but the same spirit so he's trying to now connect the people
05:38in corinth and say look you got different gifts but we're all of the same god
05:43i want you to look at these next three verses four five and six the same spirit there are differences
05:50of administration but the same lord talking about jesus and there are diversities of operations but
05:56it's the same god which worketh all in all that is one of the great parts of the verses of the bible
06:02where it talks about the trinity you got the holy spirit in verse four you got the lord which is who
06:08jesus christ in verse five and then you got god which would be i would say is god the father in verse
06:14six what he's trying to say is you may have a different gift than the person sitting next to you
06:19but it's all the same religion if you got the god the father the son and the holy spirit
06:23these three are one and then verse seven but the manifestations of the spirits given every man
06:31to profit with all the word manifestation just means to reveal if something's being manifested
06:38when i take a load of freight down to tallahassee i have what's called a manifest and what it has it has
06:45each uh piece it is what it is what kind of freight it is uh how many pounds it is how many piece how
06:51many skids or whatever and it's manifesting what is on that trailer revealing what is on there that's
06:57what manifestation so what it's saying is that the spirit will manifest or reveal what it is and
07:04the gift that you're given is going to profit it's going to profit the whole church that's what he's
07:09talking about uh verse eight for to one is given the spirit the word of wisdom to another the word
07:19of knowledge by the same spirit now you may not remember but about three years ago i preached a
07:24sermon on with knowledge wisdom and understanding these three are different things so knowledge is
07:30nothing more than the what in a good way to understand what knowledge is the opposite would be
07:38ignorance if you have knowledge on how to do something you may know how to do it you or you
07:44may know what to do but you may not know how to do it let me make that clear you may know what to do
07:50so let me give an example most of us know that you need to do what change the oil in your car you may
07:56not know how to do it but you need to know that you have to do the what the ignorance of it is driving
08:02at 80 000 miles and the engine blowing up because the oil is doing got eaten up or whatever wisdom is
08:09the how so knowledge is knowing the what wisdom is the how so the opposite of wisdom is foolishness
08:18you know you can see the bible mostly in proverbs talking about people being foolish this being
08:22foolishness it's knowing that knowing that you've got to do that and the wisdom is knowing how that
08:30you've got to get up under the car and you've got to take off the drain plug and drain the oil and
08:35then you got to change the filter that's the hat that's the wisdom part so the bible's talking about
08:41the two things or the the spirit gives a word of wisdom the word of knowledge by the same spirit
08:48and then the last one is understanding is the why uh it doesn't mention in these verses but the why
08:55the understanding is a little bit more advanced it's the opposite of confusion it's why do i need
09:01to do that why do i need to change oil you know your parents may say you got to change oil you got to
09:06change oil you got to change every 5 000 miles whatever and if you don't understand why i the
09:11understanding is the why is because you'll blow the engine up because engines were not made to just run
09:18off all the same old they'll tell you that it's lifetime or whatever but they're lying they just want
09:23you to buy a new car new engine that the opposite is confusion the opposite of understanding is
09:29confusion so knowledge is the what knowing so if you put this in context of salvation the knowledge
09:39is knowing what that you have to be saved you have to know that you're never good enough to go to
09:44heaven that we're dirty rotten filthy sinners and the knowledge is knowing hey i can't get to heaven on
09:50my own i need somebody else i need the lord jesus christ the wisdom is well what do i have to do
09:59you know just like the guy asking act 16 30 uh actually act 16 30 31 what must i do to be saved
10:06what do you say believe on the lord jesus christ that's simple nothing about repenting of your sins
10:11or being a good person or whatever going to church joining the church that's the the how and the
10:18understanding is when somebody sits down and gives you the gospel they read john 3 16 they read romans
10:243 23 they read romans 6 23 and expound that and then you understand that that's that's where knowledge
10:31wisdom and understanding of salvation is uh verse 9 to another faith by the same spirit to the another
10:39the gifts of healing by the same spirit i want to stop right there a minute because
10:47some of these gifts are not for you i'll just be honest with you some of these gifts were for back
10:53men uh i remember years ago i messed up my arm and i went to this doctor you know i asked him hey you
11:02hundred percent sure if you die today you go to heaven he was talking about other stuff than jesus and he
11:08told me he said i want to tell you the reason i'm a doctor because i have the gift of healing
11:13well he didn't heal me that day i still had a hurt arm so you know i was kind of mocking him and i just
11:19asked him before he left i said i understand what you're saying sir i said but i think you're taking
11:23that out of context because if that was the case why don't you go up to saint jude's kids hospital
11:28go heal all them kids you know just like benny hen you see him on there the pentecostal preacher that
11:34boom be healed and all that stuff folks is fake they pay somebody they tell somebody to come up
11:42there tell them to have some kind of disease or whatever and then they boom bop them and oh i don't
11:47have my back's not hurt anymore this person can never walk before now they're walking it don't happen
11:52folks if it does and benny hen needs to go to to the children's hospital needs to go to cancer
11:58ward and heal all them kids so let me show you what it is talking about keep your finger there go to
12:03acts 3 acts chapter 3
12:10so you got to understand the context of the disciples jesus has just now died he rose from the dead
12:20people didn't know what to believe so what do they have to do they have to prove they're of god
12:26these disciples these apostles peter paul uh barnabas all these other people in the book of acts so they
12:35have to prove that they are of god so the best way for them to do it is to do healing like jesus christ did
12:42he healed lepers he was able to make the blind to see he was able to make the deaf to hear he did all
12:47these things so god gave them this extra power or miracles to do look at acts 3 verse 1
12:56now peter and john so this is two peter and john they're both apostles and the definition apostle by
13:03the way if you see some preacher today he calls himself apostle jones and he's wearing a three-piece
13:08suit he just don't know the definition because the definition apostle is anybody who saw jesus christ
13:14and his resurrected state last person is paul so they they're just puffing themselves up most of them
13:20already puffed up enough and don't need to do that anymore but now peter and john went up together into
13:26the temple at the hour of prayer being the ninth hour so they're going to the temple and a certain man
13:31lame from his mother's womb so this man has been unable to walk since he was born was carried whom
13:38they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called beautiful to ask alms of them they that
13:43entered into the temple so this man he can't walk everybody knows it since he's a baby and everybody
13:49knew that he could not walk so what's going to happen who's seeing peter and john about to go into
13:57the temple ask and alms he's asking for money because he can't work and peter fasting his eyes
14:03with him with him with john said look on us and he gave heating unto them expecting to receive something
14:10of them then peter said silver and gold have i none but such as i have give i give thee in the name of jesus
14:20christ and nazareth rise up and walk so he's already telling them that he's doing this in the name of jesus
14:26christ of nazareth remember he's at a temple this is the jewish temple and he's telling him to rise
14:32up and walk and look at verse seven and he took by the right hand and lifted him up and immediately
14:38his feet and ankle bones received strength and he leaping up stood and walked and entered with them
14:46into the temple walking and leaping and praising god and all the people saw him walking and praising god
14:52and they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the beautiful gate of the temple and they were
14:58filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto them so they're seeing this and they're
15:04seeing how they get the power but it's not good enough peter's fixing to tell them and as the lame
15:10man which was healed held peter and john all the people ran together and to them in the porch that is
15:15called solomons greatly wondered so they're wondering how did this happen look what he says and when peter
15:23saw it he answered unto the people ye men of israel why marvel ye at this or why look you so earnestly
15:30on us as though by our own power holiness we had made this man to walk if you remember in the the
15:36matthew mark luke and john they kept saying the the jews would constantly be arguing the people would and
15:42they'd say well no no man can heal anybody except of god this man must be a god and then the jews say
15:47hey you're you're deceived well they realize that the only way they can do this is not by their own
15:52power that they have to have the power of god to heal this man
15:58and then the god of abraham and of isaac and of jacob and the god of our fathers have glorified his son
16:05jesus whom you delivered up and denied him in the presence of pilot when he was determined to let him
16:12go but you denied the holy one and the just and desired a murderer to be granted unto you and kill
16:18the prince of life whom god has raised from the dead whereof ye we are witnesses he's saying look the
16:26same person that gave us his power is the same person you put on the cross the same person you
16:31denied you took uh barabbas and you put took him off the cross and you put jesus on the cross who had
16:38done nothing that's the problem but this is the person who's given us this power and his name through
16:43faith in his name hath made this man strong whom you see and know yea the faith which is by him
16:51has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all
16:58and now brethren i want that through ignorance you did it as did also your rulers but those things
17:06which god before had showed by the mouth of all his prophets that christ should suffer he has so
17:11fulfilled now i want you to read this next verse i want you to look down at it's verse 19 because this
17:16is the verse that people use the most to talk about repenting of your sins and i want you to read it
17:21because commas mean you pause okay so he tells them that you must repent ye there therefore
17:29and be converted and i had a guy one time he's from a holiness baptist church which means they got to be
17:35good to go to to go to heaven that's basically what that means and he said he told me he said this is
17:40the verse that says you got to repent of your sins to be converted that's not what it says he just told
17:46them what he just told them that you put jesus on the cross you are the reason that jesus on the cross
17:53which actually is all of us but they physically were the ones they said let his blood be on our
17:59hands and our children's hands and forever and ever but he's saying repent all the word repent means
18:05change your mind change your mind that jesus is not this devil change your mind that jesus is not committing
18:13uh blasphemy by saying he's the son of god change your mind and believe that he's the savior of the
18:18world that's what he's saying and you know what happens you'll be converted because the moment you
18:24confess with your mouth the lord jesus and believe that he is a savior and he will what convert you
18:31from a dead to living the bible says you'll pass from death to life the moment you confess with your
18:37mouth and believe that jesus did it all and there's nothing that you have to do you and you'll be
18:43converted and guess what your sins will be blotted away that's what this verse is saying
18:50when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the lord and he shall send jesus christ
18:56which before was preached unto you so this has nothing folks the bible doesn't even talk about
19:03repent of your sins i've told you before the whole book of john we went through that
19:07a hundred and one times it said believe believe believe what must i do to be saved believe believe
19:12believe and the word repent is never there this is just a twisting of scripture because that preacher
19:20wants you to keep coming to church putting money and offering plate doing this doing that whatever
19:25uh go back to first corinthians 12
19:31but this is what we're talking about the healing is at the day of pentecost
19:38and we're going to look at that in a minute
19:45the two another the working of miracles so what is a miracle well it's like bringing somebody back
19:49to life you know some of the things that paul did him getting off you know when the snake bit him
19:56you know i'm not going to show it to you but when he stuck his hand in the fire and the snake bit him
20:00and he don't die you know that's that's a miracle you know those baddest preachers that do it all
20:05the time they'll take a rattlesnake say if god is with me uh this snake will bite me and i'll live
20:10and they're dead don't test god but paul wasn't testing god he just stuck his hand in the fire
20:16for whatever reason and the snake came out maybe it was for god to show them that he was who he was i
20:21don't know again these apostles had special powers so to speak from god so people could see that and they
20:30could see these things of them to realize man this is a god this is not a man this this man is special
20:38we might need to listen what he says and then they give him the gospel to another prophecy
20:44now the word prophecy all that means is preaching you know we'd like to think of a prophet that
20:49somebody can see stuff in the future well when a when someone like when i get up here and preach
20:54and i'll tell you that if you don't believe on jesus christ you're going to die and go to hell
20:57that's kind of a prophecy because that's telling you the future but but the prophecy is when
21:03somebody preaches to you the word of god so that's what a prophet is we think of you know somebody can
21:09see the future but that's not really what it is but again there are some future events we look at
21:14the whole book of revelation we can look at that as a prophecy but we look at the old testament too
21:21to another discerning the spirits we just saw in first john 4 when you discern a spirit uh you know
21:27and you're trying to figure out what that spirit is whose spirit you know you've got to ask them
21:33questions you got to ask people questions because what you got to understand is out of the abundance
21:38of the heart the mouth speaketh all these false prophets they can talk garbage all they want and
21:43they're doing this and they're doing that but at the end of the day what's in their hearts going to
21:47eventually come out that's why i tell you that billy graham's in hell because you know people say
21:53oh no i saw him do this i saw him do that but at the end of the day he said that muslims can go to
21:58heaven catholics can go to heaven hindus can go to heaven they all have the same god that's wrong folks
22:03that's straight out of the pit of hell that's that's ecumenicalism and when people say that
22:10and then they turn around and say you gotta do this or do that they're talking out of both sides of
22:15their mouth and again nobody curses god jesus except they're not of the spirit of god we just
22:21saw that in verse three so you know you might disagree with me i don't care i don't expect
22:26to see billy graham in heaven because he's a liar and a false prophet and look i've had people say no
22:32my aunt fanny got saved at a billy graham crusade in 1982 i'm sure she did i'm sure she went down there
22:40and some person some baptist preacher or somebody that gave him the gospel saved him i don't doubt
22:46that but if billy graham had gave him the gospel they'd have gone to hell he wouldn't they would have
22:51got it it's just what the bible says folks so discerning spirits is deciding so you know uh
23:00we should discern spirits and realize if they're of god and more effectively of the lord jesus christ
23:08and if they're not we we shouldn't really have anything to do with them as far as friends
23:14to another diverse kinds of tongues now folks i'm just going to dive in this just a teeny bit
23:22because the whole chapter of 14 is about this and i preach sermon after sermon about this but i'm just
23:28going to tell you two things in the king james bible the word tongue has to do with two different
23:33things one is this thing in your mouth this is your tongue you can't say the letter z without it
23:40in other letters the other thing is the language if you speak a different language if you speak two
23:46languages you speak english and spanish you've got a gift of tongue there's no spiritual language folks
23:54you know this is what boggles my mind these pentecostals that you know we we went to uh one time
24:01when i was a teenager we had some kind of uh uh light brigade and we did this at a church of god and
24:09this lady got up doing all this nonsense and falling on the ground man i had the hair on the back of my
24:15neck stood up i was scared i was scared i didn't know what was going on i'm thinking that somebody
24:21somebody call a doctor and some other lady gets up and says the holy spirit i don't even know what
24:27she said i was just so spooked out and people's like oh the holy spirit is here folks jesus didn't
24:36do it you don't see paul doing it you don't see john john who john the baptist who's the greatest person
24:43who was ever born of a woman you don't see him doing it so i'm here to tell you there's two things
24:48that's happening when people say they speak in tongues which is not in the bible they're speaking
24:54of tongues means they're speaking with their tongue a different language the first thing is is they're
25:01possessed with a demon you hear me anybody who tells you that they spoke in tongues they're either
25:07possessed by demon or they're lying to you because they're puffing themselves up let me show that to you
25:14keep finger there and go to acts 2 so what is this about you know people take this to a new level
25:21pentecostalism where they're pentecostals and they roll around in the aisle folks that that's just not
25:27godly okay it's silly jesus i mean all the way back to the book of joel god said this thing would happen
25:36where people would speak another language now let me tell you i'm going to read this to you real quick
25:43and then i'm going to explain to you what's happening here and this was 50 days after jesus christ was
25:49resurrected i've showed you that in sermons before and when the day of pentecost was come fully come
25:55they were all with one accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as a rushing
26:00mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and they appeared unto them cloven tongues
26:06like as fire and sat upon each of them and they were all filled with the holy ghost and began to speak
26:12with other tongues not in with this tongue here this thing in your mouth as the spirit gave them
26:19utterance and they were dwelling at jerusalem jews devout men out of every nation under heaven
26:26and when he this was noise abroad the multitude came together and were confounded mean they were
26:32confused because that every man heard them speak in his own language now let me explain this to you
26:37they spoke a different language they're in jerusalem and when people are going to jerusalem
26:46who are the galilee uh medes parthians elamites mesopotamians cappadocians pontus asia when these
26:55people came to jerusalem they're expecting to speak the hebrew tongue but they're not these people are
27:02giving them the gospel in their native tongue and they're like whoa how's this happening let's keep
27:08reading how we every man in our own tongue wherein we were born
27:18i'm sorry i skipped some stuff now when this was noise abroad uh and when they were all amazed and
27:22marveled saying one another behold are not all these speak galilean galileans they're saying look why
27:29aren't they speaking galilean and now how are every man in our own tongue wherein we were born
27:35parthians medes and elamites and dwellers in mesopotamia and judea and cappadocia and pontus and asia
27:42phrygia pamphylia and egypt and the parts of libya and cyrene and the strangers of rome jews and
27:49proselytes cretes and arabians we do hear them speak in our tongue or language anytime you see tongue you
27:56just change that in language the wonderful word to god and they were all amazed and were in doubt
28:03saying one another what mean is this others mocking saying these men are full of new wine so when they
28:08hear somebody speaking in a different language they think they're drunk they're like whoa this guy and
28:15you know there's some languages people sound like they're drunk but what we need to understand is this
28:20was a spiritual thing that these apostles that were at the day of pentecost in jerusalem at that time
28:30when these people came to them they gave them the gospel in their language that's the spirituality part
28:37of it nothing that there's a spiritual heavenly angel language whatever that's garbage folks that's
28:45just people puffing themselves up and again you want to hear more about it come back in two weeks
28:50when we do chapter 14 it's going to be all about it um but what you need to understand is in the king
28:58james bible it never says speaking in tongue because you're using this thing in your mouth so anytime you
29:06see tongue just know it's language because you have to have a tongue to speak or you're dumb
29:12if you can't speak so the neck and this is where people get confused this next part right here the
29:19first kinds means different kinds of tongues or languages to another interpretation of tongues
29:24and you hear people say oh yeah you're not supposed to speak in tongues unless somebody's supposed to
29:28there's somebody to interpret let me tell you what that means if i have somebody get up here and preach
29:35in spanish i better have an interpreter because it does y'all no good how many people understand spanish
29:41raise your hand two people so if i said hey come up here and preach in china in spanish and he
29:50preaches in spanish two people's going to get it two people out of what 20 15 does no good that's
29:58what it's talking about but people tell you oh yeah there's not an interpreter uh nobody should be
30:02speaking in tongues folks i don't know where this comes from this is just goofballness and you always
30:08see people rolling around looking like a turkey fixing a fly off and they're just barking like a
30:13dog and i'm telling you these people either possessed by a demon because let me just show you this one verse
30:22to prove that to you uh turn one page over to chapter 14 verse 32
30:27so everything needs to be in order at church you know we have an order we sing songs we have prayer
30:40requests we have prayer we have preaching we have another song and we'll have you know another prayer
30:46to dismiss and every church does it differently but you know look at verse 32 in chapter 14 and the spirits of
30:54the prophets and the spirits of the prophets are what subject to the prophets now what does that
30:59mean means that every spirit out there when people say i'm speaking in the holy spirit are they subject
31:05to the prophet no if they're acting goofball and they're rolling around in the aisle and they're
31:10acting stupid they're not subject means they're not under subjection to the prophets make sure you
31:16understand that folks nobody's measured by holiness by how stupid you can act okay you don't see paul i
31:25mean paul he's a pretty godly man he's got 13 books under his belt in the new testament so i think god
31:30thinks highly of him john you just don't see that folks these people aren't speaking in this good ball
31:35language because there's no such thing verse 11 but all these worketh to one and the self same spirit
31:43dividing to every man severally as he will so he said look everybody has their own gift but they're
31:49working together to get one goal just like at the day of pentecost what was the goal people get saved
31:55people hear the gospel in their own language for as one body is one and have many members and all the
32:03members of that one body being many are one body also is christ for by one spirit we are all baptized
32:11in one body will be jews or gentiles whether it be bond or free and have been made have been all made
32:19to drink into one spirit for the body is not one member but many and the foot shall say if the foot
32:27one shall say because i'm not the hand i'm not of the body is there therefore not of the body and if
32:34the ear shall say because i'm not the eye am i not of the body is it therefore not of the body if the
32:40whole body were an eye where were the hearing the whole we're hearing where were the smelling but now
32:49have god sent the members every one of them in the body as it has pleased him and if they were all one
32:57member where were the body but now are they many members yet but one body and the eye cannot say into
33:06the hand i have no need of thee nor again the head of the feet i have no need of you name much more
33:12these members of the body which seem to be more feeble are necessary so just to put this in context
33:20what he's saying is just like your body you wouldn't say i don't need that hand i don't need that foot
33:28now if you lost it you'd learn how to do without it but nobody's gonna say hey cut my hand off cut my
33:32foot off what he's saying is that there's no body member you know we talk about being in the body of christ
33:38as a church being a whole uh a body together like a body you got hands you got feet you got legs you
33:47got your body your head ears nose and what it's saying is that there's no body part that's working
33:53on its own that they're all working together in conjunction to form the body if you went out there
34:00and didn't have any eyeballs you'd run into the door when you walked out if you didn't have hearing you may
34:05not hear something so what it's saying is that as a church all our members are working together
34:12to make the body work in conjunction and there's no body part that you'd say i can do without it
34:19that is less honorable that's what it's talking about that they all work together and you know
34:24there's people that lose their sight and they what do they do they're able to increase their hearing
34:29because they have to rely on it or they lose their hearing able to increase their sight and their smell
34:34and other other uh there's the signs but it's not it's saying that nobody no member no job in the
34:44church is it's less important that just like your job you might have different people people that cut
34:51wood people that glue wood people that do this people to do that and build something together and once
34:56they get it all together it's one unit if you didn't have the people to cut the wood you went out of
35:01wood to glue you didn't have the people to to nail the nails in it you wouldn't have anything people
35:07to do whatever and that's what it's saying is that we all work together for the body of christ
35:14and he's going in that in pretty much a lot of detail and those members of the body which we think
35:18are less honorable upon these we bestow more abundant honorable and our comely parts have more abundant
35:26comeliness for our comely parts have no need but god has tempered the body together having given more
35:33abundant honor to that which we which we lack that there shall be no schism which means problem in the
35:41body but that the members should have the same care one for another and whether one member suffer all
35:47members suffer with it and if one member be honored all the members rejoice with it now are you now you
35:56are the body of christ and members in particular and god has said some in the church first apostles so he
36:04gives an order of these things number one's apostle what's the dead what's an apostle when chapter 15
36:10we're going to see the actual definition but it's anybody who has seen jesus christ in his
36:15resurrected state folks if people tell you that they had a dream and they saw jesus walking down
36:20the street or walking in the alley and they came to him they are lying they they're lying they don't
36:26they don't even know what jesus is it's a demon it's a devil nobody's talking about that so make sure
36:33you understand that people don't get saved by seeing visions of jesus or angels or whatever they get
36:39saved by hearing the gospel period no no other way um so the first is apostles that's number one
36:47secondarily prophets which are preachers pastors and number three or what teachers so he has an order
36:56of these things and after that miracles so look he puts miracles and healing about in the middle
37:02why because they're not going to be doing them anymore you know you we don't have apostles anymore
37:07we still have preachers prophets pastors we still have teachers but nobody's out there again doing
37:14miracles or healings and then you have helps governments and diversity of tongues which is
37:21what speaking a different language there's people sitting here right now that can can go to somebody
37:27that does not speak english and give them the gospel and can interpret that and show them exactly what
37:34the gospel means that's the interpretation the diversity of tongues are all apostles no are all
37:43prophets no are all teachers no are all workers and miracles no have all the gifts of healing do all speak
37:51with not in that word in is never here in the king james bible you can look it up you can take your
37:57king james bible you take your smartphone and look up tongues every single time and you will not find the
38:02word in before it in the niv you will not in the king james bible um do all interpret talking about
38:13interpreting language look there's people that can speak foreign languages but they can't interpret it
38:18there's people that can interpret foreign languages but they can't speak it that's why he's saying that
38:24but all but covet earnestly the best gifts you show i unto you a more excellent way so he's telling you
38:32whatever gift you have that's the best gift everybody has a different gift and he's saying whatever gift
38:40you have you need to earn us you need to cherish it you need to covet it because god gave it to you because
38:48that may be something lacking in your group maybe lacking in your family maybe liking in your church whatever
38:54and you may be maybe that one piece of the puzzle so don't try to say well i really want to do this
39:00you know because that's not what we're here to do we're not here to do what we want to do
39:05so that's chapter 12 again if you don't understand that about tongues and you've heard this before that
39:11people speak a form of some kind of heavenly language come back in two weeks when we go to chapter 14
39:17it's all about speaking with your tongue let's bow your head and have a word prayer
