00:00I'm a very good dancer, okay?
00:02Anthony's like a beautiful prism.
00:05We brought a lot of oil to make him stand out the way he did.
00:11Mackie and Stephanie, good to see you guys. How are you?
00:14Hey, Melissa.
00:15Yeah, good. How are you?
00:16I'm very well. It's always a pleasure.
00:18Mackie, you always bring the energy.
00:20I always think if someone can, like, bottle your energy
00:22and your charisma, like, they'd make millions.
00:25Like, you're my guy.
00:26Oh, well, you know, I am a good time.
00:30So, you know, I just try to enjoy it and let it seep out where it may.
00:35Listen, you bring a good time, both of you, to be honest, in this season.
00:40What? Have I embarrassed you?
00:44No, it's... No, don't worry about it.
00:47You know, Anthony's got a lot of...
00:51Anthony's like a beautiful prism.
00:53It's got so many different kinds of sides to him.
00:58But my particular favourite is Party Anthony,
01:01when he's, like, got a little glass of something in his hand
01:04and his whole court. That's my favourite.
01:06It's a good time.
01:07It's a good time.
01:08It's a good time.
01:09Listen, this season's a good time as well, guys.
01:12It's tournament time as well, which is what the fans have been waiting for.
01:16If people haven't seen season one, though,
01:18is there anything important they need to know going into season two?
01:22Or can you just jump straight in?
01:24I think you can jump straight in.
01:25You know, season one was basically the relationship between John and Quiet
01:34and how, you know, we brought Sweet Tooth into that.
01:38And moving forward, we kind of reintroduced everybody in a smart way,
01:43in a completely different world.
01:45Because every year, every time the game was released,
01:49it was released with a new canvas and a new backdrop.
01:51So every season is a new canvas and a new backdrop with the same character.
01:55So the backstory doesn't really play into it.
01:58It just, it's just a layer that's added on top of it.
02:02How excited were you guys to have Axel finally joining?
02:04Because I know, Mac, you'd mentioned before as well,
02:07you were like, that was the character you were most excited to see.
02:10Like, what was that like having, finally having Axel in season two?
02:14It was insane.
02:15And he's, last year, I was most excited about Sweet Tooth.
02:18And I said, Sweet Tooth is going to be the breakout star still the show.
02:21And none of us are here except Sweet Tooth.
02:23This year, it's Axel, like, by far.
02:26And I love all the new characters.
02:28But Axel was one of those characters in a video game
02:30that was so ridiculous and so insane and so uncontrollably unique.
02:35To be able to say that we did that in the second season with that character
02:39and built that machine and Mike Shaw showing up and locking into the machine,
02:44it literally put me in the world.
02:47I couldn't imagine having to do that with an actor who had dots all over him
02:51and CGI and him into that.
02:53The fact that we practically did that and he was on set rolling around
02:57was insane and I think a testament to this season.
03:00And he's absolutely terrifying and really grounded and also very funny in the role.
03:06I don't know how he does all those things, but he does.
03:10And as a producer, I know for a fact we brought a lot of oil
03:15to make him stand out the way he did.
03:19It was outstanding.
03:20Nice.
03:21What is, like, I watch this and my jaw is on the floor
03:25at what happens, like, every single time.
03:28For you guys, what is, like, the coolest or the wildest thing
03:31that you got to do this season?
03:33There's a scene where we were, it was very, very cold.
03:36We were shooting in Canada.
03:38It was nighttime.
03:39We were all in this, like, giant lot and everything's wet
03:43and all the crew was, like, in their goose-down comforter jackets
03:47and all of us are freezing because we're in these, like, new costumes.
03:51Don't want to give anything away.
03:52But it was just so incredible because we have these lighting rigs
03:56that were amazing.
03:57It was practically lit.
03:58The lighting in that scene is not, like, CGI'd in.
04:02It's practically lit.
04:03The lighting is timed to what we're doing.
04:05There's explosions going off in the background.
04:07We were running across the...
04:09It was, it was, I felt like I was, like, I really,
04:13sometimes when I'm acting, I get so caught up in the play pretend
04:16that it really, it feels so real to me.
04:19And it felt so real that night.
04:21And it was so much fun.
04:22I had such a great time.
04:23I wasn't even cold.
04:24When the camera rolls, I'm not cold.
04:26Right, right.
04:27You know, it's one of my favorite things about acting
04:30is that, like, everything else disappears
04:31and you're just in the scene in the moment.
04:33I'm not going to brag.
04:34This isn't bragging.
04:35I'm just going to state a fact and let it be truth
04:37in the world that we live in.
04:39Uh, I'm a very good dancer, okay?
04:42And, you know, I got the boogie woogie bean.
04:45Like, I crush dancing.
04:47If you want to put down some parquet, you know,
04:50and turn on some music, I will show you what it looks like
04:53to be amazing on the dance floor.
04:55Boogie woogie bean.
04:58So, so I got an opportunity this season
05:02to let them know what Mack the Knife looked like
05:05because I was cutting up the dance floor.
05:07Mack the Knife is very musical.
05:09You should hear him sing.
05:10I mean, I would love to.
05:13I mean, so we had thong song in the first one.
05:15So now I guess we get dancing is going to be
05:17the iconic scene.
05:19I threw in a few local New Orleans dances.
05:23I put in some Baryshnikov.
05:25I put in some Martha Graham.
05:27Put in a little James Brown.
05:29I mean, I went across the spectrum.
05:32Cannot wait.
05:33And listen, I know you guys have probably been asked this
05:35many times.
05:36I'm still going to ask it.
05:37Obviously, when Calypso, if you win the tournament,
05:41you get your greatest desire granted for you guys.
05:46If it was you, Mackie and Stephanie,
05:48what would your greatest heart's desire be?
05:50What would you be wishing for?
05:51I will say the thing that I said already,
05:53which is I do want world peace.
05:56I wish that that would be my greatest wish.
05:59You can never beat that.
06:00No, I mean, you should have won a second.
06:03Yeah.
06:03I'll shorten mine.
06:05I would like to be able to speak dolphin and swim with dolphins.
06:11That was very, very good.
06:13Very specific.
06:14Yeah.
06:15Okay.
06:17Very different.
06:19Very different.
06:20I will end on that.
06:22Thank you so much, guys.
06:25Good luck with season two.
06:27It's always lovely to see you.
06:29Take care.
06:29Good luck with the support.
