00:00Come to work and they're like, good morning!
00:02Hey!
00:03Hi!
00:04They're like, you want full breakfast?
00:07I'm very curious about the white room right now.
00:10I wonder how it looks.
00:11It's lovely to see you both.
00:13This is so exciting.
00:14I mean, how has it been being a part of the Fantastic Four ride
00:19that you've been on?
00:21I mean, for me, it's kind of almost the start of the second ride,
00:26as it were, because the making of it.
00:28It's gorgeous, man.
00:30I love my job.
00:31So, yeah, making of it was great and such a fantastic experience.
00:35And now it just kind of feels today, for me,
00:37is the first day of publicity and stuff.
00:40And I'll see the film for the first time at the beginning of next week.
00:44And so I kind of feel I'm just starting my second journey with the film.
00:48So you're refreshed.
00:50Yes, very much.
00:51How are you doing?
00:52So I'm at the same place.
00:54I will see it next week as well.
00:57She also got off a flight from Vancouver at 8.30 this morning.
01:01So not quite as relaxed as I.
01:03Yeah, I'm in the middle of production for something else, like right now.
01:08So I had a very long day yesterday and then I flew in today.
01:13So, yeah.
01:14But you're a superstar.
01:15Booked and busy.
01:16This is the problem.
01:17Booked and busy.
01:18How does it feel to be joining the MCU, be a part of it?
01:22It's so exciting.
01:23Like, I was so excited when I first found out about this.
01:27And, you know, the people attached and the Fantastic Four is such an incredible story and the comics.
01:33So I was super excited about it.
01:35And you had a go at the MCU before, didn't you?
01:38I did.
01:39Yes.
01:40So did you kind of know what to expect?
01:42Well, I knew what the production values are like on something like this.
01:47They've got the money and, you know, you've got the best designers, the best costume people,
01:51the best of everybody that you can get in the British film industry working at Pinewood or Shepparton,
01:56the best studio, all the best equipment all kicked out.
01:59So, yeah, you're just working with the best of the best.
02:02And there's something lovely about that.
02:04Everybody's on top of their job and happy to be there doing it,
02:09happy to be working on and being properly paid to be working.
02:12Because in our business, you go on sets a lot of time and people aren't properly paid.
02:16And so people are miserable.
02:18But you go on a Marvel film and generally people are like,
02:21come on, we're making a proper film and we're getting properly paid for it.
02:24Absolutely, quite right, yeah.
02:25Which is a much nicer vibe to be at.
02:27Yeah, you know, you come to work and they're like, good morning!
02:31Hi!
02:32People are nice!
02:33They're like, you want full breakfast?
02:35Yeah, yeah, exactly.
02:36You can get an iced coffee if you want, it's not just from the container.
02:39Yeah, exactly.
02:40So let's talk about the sets then, because everybody has said, particularly on this,
02:44that they just blew everyone away.
02:46I mean, what was it like stepping into that world?
02:48And as actors, when you get to play characters like this and you have those sets,
02:52is this just a dream?
02:53Is it pure play?
02:55Yeah, I mean, I didn't really get the chance to work on sets so much.
03:00In my stuff, I got to go and look at them and look at the beauty of it.
03:05From a distance.
03:06They let you in one day.
03:07Yeah, but my stuff was usually in a very brightly lit white room,
03:10where they got to shoot me as a miniature with lots of light,
03:14so they could keep the focus when they blew it up massive.
03:17So, yeah, I didn't have many beautiful sets to work on,
03:20but I got the chance to look at them.
03:22You know, there's rooms full of the design sketches that I could walk around all day,
03:27just like watching the blueprints of the Fantastica.
03:31I couldn't read that all day.
03:33It's just beautiful.
03:34And all the costumes, that room next to it, the costume fitting where every kind of world was,
03:39you'd turn a corner and there'd be a whole room of your homeland and the people and stuff like that,
03:45and the whole room of my designs.
03:48And, yeah, just to see that skill of the designers, the costumes and people, it's amazing.
03:55So was it the same for you then, or were you just in the white room?
03:58No, I was not in the white room.
04:00I'm, like, very curious about the white room right now.
04:03You were talking about it the whole morning.
04:06I'm like, I wonder how it looks.
04:08No, I had so much fun seeing all the sets and the Times Square and, you know, just the different worlds
04:19and the spaceships even, and that was so fun.
04:24I mean, the sets were beautiful, and it also makes it easier to, I don't know, not act,
04:30but it feels like a scene partner in its own way because it's, I always feel like a location on a set is a character in a movie.
04:37Um, in a way.
04:38So it's very impressive that you were acting in, you know, in a white, bright room.
04:42I want to see this white room because you hear a green screen, but never white.
04:46I know.
04:47Yeah.
04:48I feel like that would be quite, I don't know if I could handle that.
04:49It's blinding.
04:50I think that would make me think a lot of things.
04:51It would bring up a lot of feelings to it.
04:52Yeah.
04:53Yeah.
04:54Yeah, there's a lot of that going on, yeah.
04:55Yeah.
04:56Well, listen, it's so good to see you both.
04:58I absolutely cannot wait to see the rest of this, and I'll see you at the premiere today.
05:00Absolutely.
05:01See you later.
05:02See you later.
05:03Yeah.
