The pen of crossbred ewes sold for $366.20 sold to Fletcher Meats in Dubbo.
Transcript
00:00We had our lightest number of mutton that we've had yarded in Wagga for what I would expect to
00:05be a couple of years now. It met with increased competition, there seems to be a fair appetite.
00:11We got to $366.20 on a pan of crossbred ewes, which was the national record, which was very
00:19pleasing to get. For us to yard 12,000 or 13,000 mutton is a very light number by comparison to
00:25previous weeks and previous years, and then you break that down to which ones are the actual
00:30export mutton and all of a sudden there's not a lot of them available. The market won't plummet
00:34any time soon. It will probably level out at some point at best based on the fact that there's
00:41a lack of supply going to be a prolonged down south. So whatever we yard here will still
00:46be met with competition. It may not be at the high highs that we saw here today.
