00:00No Bradbury, it's Ben Brown at center, and it's Jared Wilson at left guard,
00:04which to me lets you know not only did he pass by guys like Cole Strange
00:10and Caden Wallace, who's working more at guard in this camp
00:12than a year ago where he was a tackle,
00:15without your starting center, quote-unquote, Garrett Bradbury here today,
00:18it tells me they're looking at him at guard.
00:21Yeah, well, I'll tell you what.
00:22It seems like the draft class has a chance to be even better than we thought,
00:26and it went in with pretty high expectations,
00:27and we keep focusing on the first three picks.
00:30Might be more than that.
00:31I mean, if they end up with two starting offensive linemen,
00:35as Bedard said, both on the left side, too.
00:37If you get Campbell and Wilson, your left tackle, your left guard,
00:41on the first two days of the draft, it is pretty –
00:43I mean, we're a long ways from knowing if that's what it's going to be,
00:46but if that's what it is, that would be great.
00:48It is trending towards – obviously it's early,
00:51but it's trending towards those two guys being more impactful
00:53than even Henderson and Williams as of right now.
00:57Right, like Williams is at his ups and downs, but you do have Diggs,
01:00you do have Pop Douglas, you do have Kayshaun Booty,
01:03so it seems like three guys might be ahead of him as far as the depth chart
01:07and as far as just opportunities on the field are concerned.
01:10And then running backs, it's been kind of hard for me to tell,
01:13but I feel like Ramondre is leading all the drills.
01:15You still have Gibson.
01:17So Henderson, you know, there's been praise for Henderson.
01:20Obviously he comes out of college as a really good pass blocker,
01:22which will get him on the field sooner rather than later.
01:25But that's kind of a crowded backfield.
01:28And so if you're looking for immediate impact,
01:30it might come more from the offensive lineman.
01:32No, I think that's fair.
01:33You know, Henderson right now, I mean, he's mixing in with the first team,
01:36but you're right.
01:37He's behind Ramondre Stevenson.
01:38He's behind Gibson when we see a lot of these drills.
01:41He's actually out here with Gibson returning kicks right here,
01:44or the up man returning kicks with Gibson.
01:47Kyle Williams feels like he is fourth-ish.
01:50Yeah.
01:50On the depth chart, it's probably him or Kendrick Bourne right now.
01:53He feels a touch behind Keyshawn Booty, never mind.
01:57Pop Douglas and Steph Diggs at the top of the depth chart,
01:59and that's before Mac Hollins is out there.
02:00He's another guy missing today, still on PUP.
02:03So that's probably the right way to say it.
02:05Like the guys who are going to make the biggest impact the quickest,
02:09at least on offense, maybe Woodson, the eraser, mixes in on defense.
02:12Yeah, that's another one.
02:13Maybe your kicker.
02:14Hopefully your kicker.
02:14Hopefully your kicker, though the report's on him.
02:17I was locked in on that earlier too.
02:18Yeah, haven't been good.
02:18He's six for six yesterday, but everybody's like,
02:20yeah, they weren't close kicks.
02:22I wasn't super locked in on that, to be honest.
02:23It was a shaky six for six, many were calling.
02:26Yes.
02:26Which I guess, you know, it's a results business, Jones.
02:28If he's making his kicks, he's making his kicks.
02:30But I guess it wasn't with a lot of confidence.
02:33But, yeah, these two guys have been going back and forth.
02:36But, yeah, the rookie class, I mean,
02:38they needed help on the offensive line, clearly, desperately.
02:41And what's funny is, what was the guy's name?
02:43Was it Jonah Williams?
02:44The reports were, in the second round, instead of Henderson,
02:47they really wanted another guard.
02:49Oh, no, no, no.
02:49Not Jonah.
02:50No, no, no.
02:50The guy who Miami drafted.
02:52Yeah, what the hell was his name?
02:52I don't remember.
02:53It doesn't matter.
02:53He went pick 37.
02:54Yeah, but he was a guard.
02:56So they wanted another guard after taking Campbell.
03:00And they may have gotten it in Wilson a few rounds later.
03:02So, I mean, we'll see.
03:04But he's trending in the right direction.
03:06Well, I think he's going to be one of your five on the O-line.
03:09I mean, the way things are trending now, and again, it can all change.
03:11Like, day one, Will Campbell didn't look great, we told you.
03:14Day two, he looked better.
03:15So we're just kind of reacting to that.
03:17I think he's one of your five.
03:18I think the way they're utilizing him, that's pretty clear.
03:20But without Bradbury today, him lining up at left guard
03:23and Ben Brown getting reps at center,
03:24who got a lot of reps at center last year for this team, not good ones,
03:29I would say that's telling you they're looking at him as their left guard.
03:32And that would be my takeaway early on.
03:34Who do you think is the leader for center?
03:36I think it's probably Bradbury.
03:38Yeah.
03:38You know?
03:38Yeah, well, that is, and we sort of start,
03:41we started the show with Mike Vrabel's, like, little media availability,
03:44and he does seem to talk about the veteran guys,
03:50kind of lumps the veteran guys together,
03:51and some are just not out there in cases,
03:54or some are getting shut down a little bit.
03:56So between Carlton Davis, Morgan Moses, Garrett Bradbury,
04:00I don't know, he didn't seem overly concerned, did he?
04:02He was just sort of like, hey, we got a plan, you know, for all these guys.
04:04Meanwhile, we're up here, we're like, ah, where's Davis?
04:06How come he's not out there?
04:07Morgan Moses is leaving.
04:09Is he not the right tackle?
04:10Because Curran made me feel a little bit better yesterday when I was like,
04:13is there a chance that Moses isn't the guy?
04:14He's like, no, no, no, Moses is the guy.
04:16It's, you know, whether he's still good or not and remains healthy,
04:20but he's like, there's no doubt in Curran's mind that he'll be the right tackle.
04:23Week one, Morgan Moses, right tackle.
04:25I feel a little better after listening to Vrabel today about Carlton Davis.
04:28Yeah.
04:28Like, it sounds more like management than anything.
04:31Gonzalez, we keep hearing, Curran said it yesterday, day-to-day.
04:35Garisian reported the same thing.
04:36She said day-to-day.
04:37So that feels like that's coming out from the team that Gonzalez should be back sooner rather than later.
04:42Curran even said maybe for joint practices next week, which I think would be tremendous news if he's back out there for that.
04:47So, no, I largely feel better about the injury situation.
04:51We'll monitor it with Bradbury and certainly how they're sort of managing Morgan Moses on a pitch count there on the right side.
04:59You mentioned the other rookies, though.
05:00Kyle Williams, Phil Perry also does a stock up, stock down every day on NBC Sports Boston.
05:05One of his downs yesterday was Kyle Williams, who he said was on the receiving end of one of the prettiest passes all day.
05:11Drake May lofted a touchdown pass down the right sideline to Williams that was perfectly dropped in the bucket.
05:16He said prior to that, and we talked about these reps in real time when they happened,
05:21Williams dropped a back shoulder pass from May that hit him in the hands,
05:24and he's had occasional drop issues at Washington State as a collision,
05:28and he's had multiple passes go through his hands at this point in camp.
05:32He had a great day one.
05:33Since then, I feel like largely when you notice him, it is for something like that.
05:38A drop pass or there was one throw in the right corner yesterday that I thought May missed him on.
05:42I would put that more on May than on him, but it hasn't looked like that after a strong showing on day one
05:48where he's making catches on the sideline on Christian Gonzalez.
05:50I mean, after day one, we were talking about it might be a Diggs-Williams one-two punch.
05:54That hasn't really looked super locked in between he and May.
05:57No, unfortunately not.
05:58Now, he does have game-changing speed, so you wonder if are there certain packages
06:02that McDaniels will feel comfortable using him, and maybe he's like a big play guy.
06:06It doesn't feel like he's going to be a guy that's getting a bunch of snaps necessarily,
06:11but there's a long way to go.
06:12There's the joint practices.
06:14There's three preseason games where I assume Diggs plays little to none.
06:19Matt Collins is going to play little to none.
06:21So that might be an opportunity for Kyle Williams to kind of shine a little bit
06:25because you can't be the guy that drops passes when you don't even get that many thrown your way, right?
06:30Like it's going to be just fewer and fewer.
06:32But he does have a skill set that I don't know if anybody else on the team has.
06:37So, you know, that combined with being the third-round pick, like he's for sure on the team.
06:42It's just a matter of, all right, how much are we going to see him on the field?
06:456-1-7, 7-7-9, 7-9-3-7.
06:48Good day for the rookies yesterday.
06:50Offensive line coming around the last couple of days, it felt like, in full pads.
06:54Lighter practice today.
06:55We'll see how much we can read into it.
06:56Walk-through scheduled for tomorrow.
06:58And then they're in the stadium on Friday night for season ticket holders.
07:01There's another walk-through type of environment.
07:03So it should be a lighter couple of days here for the Patriots.
07:05Jones and Keith taking it all in live at Gillette, brought to you by McFarlane Energy.
07:10We'll come back to your phone calls on this.
07:11We'll also get to the Boston Red Sox.
07:14The warning signs, Keith, or the signs anyway, are that this deadline could be a bit of a letdown.
07:20We're getting closer and closer.
07:22We are getting too close.
07:23I mean, what time is the deadline tomorrow?
07:24I should know this.
07:25I've heard mixed things.
07:26We're a little over 24 hours away.
07:27It's 6?
07:286 o'clock.
07:296 o'clock.
07:30You know what?
07:32That means Breslau has more time than I thought.
07:33It should be like 2 or 3.
07:35That's what I would think.
07:36Why are we waiting until 6 o'clock?
07:37Okay, good.
07:38Off day tomorrow.
07:39Breslau's got until—you got until 6, Craig.
07:41I'll tell you, if the Akin Ucho gets to play the sounder throughout the show, I'm going
07:44to be pissed.
07:45If we don't get to play the trade sounder at all, and they save all the trades to after
07:482.
07:48Oh, I think we're going to be able to play the trades sounder.
07:50Well, yeah.
07:50We have a full trade deadline program tomorrow.
07:53I don't know if you want—yeah.
07:54Okay.
07:55You think trades tomorrow?
07:56Are you predicting a trade tomorrow?
07:58A good one?
07:58Or a trade?
07:59How about this?
07:59Let me ask you two questions.
08:00Don't make a trade.
08:01Will they make a good one?
08:02I'm starting to doubt that.
08:03Do you expect a Major League Baseball trade between 10 and 2 tomorrow?
08:07Yes.
08:07No.
08:07Do you expect a—
08:09Wait, what?
08:10What did he say?
08:10That was—
08:11Do you expect a Red Sox trade between 10 and 2 tomorrow?
08:14Yeah.
08:15No.
08:15Okay.
08:16I expect both.
08:17That's very optimistic.
08:18Now, I don't know if I expect, again, what we would consider a worthwhile Red Sox.
08:21I mean, Breslau made a lot of trades last year.
08:23A trade is a trade.
08:24It's not going to be a good sounder.
08:26Yeah.
08:26Nick, you don't have to play it, but do you have the sounder ready?
08:29Sure.
08:30Okay.
08:30Just in case.
08:31Sure.
08:32Just in case.
08:33All right.
08:34I just wanted to make sure that you have it, because you never know.
08:36Trades could happen today, for God's sakes.
08:38I mean, Nick, Keith is locked in.
08:39He's got his binoculars.
08:40I have my binoculars.
08:40This is my best day yet.
08:41Keith is as locked in as could be.
08:43What do you mean, sure?
08:44Back there.
08:44Yeah, sure.
08:45I guess I got it.
08:45I saw Mike Vrabel coaching up Milton Williams and Christian Barmore one-on-one.
08:49I saw that.
08:50Nice.
08:51He's pulling some of the defensive linemen, doing some individual work with them.
08:55How about that?
08:55Mike Vrabel, very hands-on coach.
08:57I'm liking what I'm seeing from here.
08:59It's a whole new experience with binoculars.
09:01It's just completely different.
09:02It's like my first practice.
09:05This is incredible.
09:06I can actually see the numbers now.
09:08I know who's out there.
09:09We'll see what else.
09:10What a thrill.
09:11Keith cannot glean and pass along through the binocs.
