00:00Los Angeles, the Dodgers. It's time to talk some Dodgers baseball. Maybe it wasn't the
00:05greatest impersonation of one Vin Skelly at this point, but it is what it is. And tonight,
00:09it's game 7-10. Great American ballpark here. Shohei Ohtani's on the mound. Before we handicap
00:14the game in its entirety, Joe, give me this question. Are we stretching out Ohtani? Like,
00:19he's been to three innings. Is he just going to be three innings? Could we see him pitch well,
00:23let's just say, not give up an earned run in three innings. Ah, send him out for the fourth.
00:25Send him out for the fifth. When are we getting to that point? Is tonight, could it be that point?
00:31I don't know that tonight will be that point. I think all of this with him is going to be
00:36day by day to see exactly maybe how it all unfolds with him. But I think if he has
00:42relatively quick innings with the pitch count down by the time he gets to the, let's say,
00:48third inning, there's no reason to believe they won't continue to roll him out there to kind of
00:54stretch him out. I do think you're going to get more of that next month here in August. I think
00:59you'll start to see more and more of that. But for right now, I think, hey, listen, if he's 12
01:04pitches an inning, yeah, you can probably get four out of him, four or five, you know,
01:09ends out of him here. I think it all has to do with pitch count with him.
01:13Yeah, taking a look also at that total, just going back to the game yesterday, five to four final,
01:17which the Dodgers picked and pick up the victory over the Reds. That game had nine runs.
01:21Now, if Otani is on the mound and we can get three innings of shutout baseball or
01:26anticipated that because he's been very good since he's been back to the mound,
01:29I understand it's going to be good hitting temperature there. Nick Martinez, not a great
01:33pitcher, but also I'm not getting the full gas lineup right now for the Dodgers. It's absolutely
01:37hitting on all cylinders. And also nine and a half means you need 10 runs to beat me. Like I'm an
01:43over guy, but I got to tell you, Joe, I look at the nine and a half and go, if Otani starts out this
01:46game good and Nick Martinez can just be a veteran pitcher, who says this game can't be three to two
01:51after five innings, which gives you four runs of leeway through the final ports of that game.
01:56Yeah, I agree. Total is five for the first five. In fact, I'm even seeing five and a half,
02:01Donnie. But again, if Otani is out after two innings or three and maybe things aren't working
02:08out all that well, but both of these games against Cincinnati at the Great American Ballpark,
02:14we saw nine and a half at the open and we haven't gotten more than nine runs in these first two games.
02:20So Dodgers keep scoring just five runs. We're not, we're not getting anywhere near double digit
02:26final scores here. I don't know what Nick Martinez has been very serviceable for the Reds. Not sure
02:32that we're going to get it here today either.
