00:00All right, Phillies and Nationals, this should be a lot of fun here because again, this is

00:04a great pitching matchup to open up the season.

00:06Mackenzie Gore, he's an ace, ace for Washington going in, they're supposed to be better.

00:11We know Philly's rotation, it's Wheeler and Nola Thursday, and then I guess an off day

00:15and then Saturday.

00:17And you know, Washington will announce their rotation, but we know more or less the pitchers

00:21who are going to be involved in this.

00:22But look, Philadelphia has a lot higher expectations than just doing well in the regular season.

00:26It's got to be more than that.

00:28Yeah, I imagine, I think Philadelphia is the second best team in baseball behind the Dodgers

00:33here, playing a rough division with the Mets.

00:36I mean, I may not think the Mets will make the playoffs here, but it's going to be a

00:39good team here.

00:40Atlanta should be very good.

00:41And I imagine that the Nationals are an up and coming team.

00:44You know, I'm looking forward.

00:45I have a bet on James Wood to hit over 17 and a half home runs.

00:48I think he hits that easily.

00:49I think he hits, I think he hits that by mistake.

00:52And I'm being told by Sam that it's now 18 and a half.

00:54So people are right there with me, thinking that James Wood's going to hit those home

00:57runs.

00:58But once again, big man.

00:59He's going to hit that by, I mean, he mishits balls that are going to go out of the ballpark

01:02here.

01:03So I'm a big judge.

01:04James Wood guy.

01:05Dylan Cruz as well.

01:06Washington is not a bad team.

01:07They may not be a good team yet, but they are on their way up here.

01:10I think they'll compete more than we expect them to.

01:13That being said, Philadelphia should take care of business.

01:17In the American League, we've got the Red Sox taking on the Rangers.

01:19This should be a fun competitive series.

01:21Nathan Yovaldi back with Texas.

01:23Garrett Crochet starts opening day for the Boston Red Sox.

01:28Tanner Hauk will start game two for Boston.

01:30Walker Buehler, now a member of the Red Sox, he will start game three.

01:33Remember, they've got a couple of injuries there, Baio specifically.

01:37We'll see him eventually in the rotation.

01:38I really do think that this could end up being one of the more fun series to start the season.

01:46Crochets look great, by the way, could be a Cy Young, should be a Cy Young candidate

01:50in the American League, especially if he doesn't get, I guess, if the wall doesn't

01:55bother him or the green monster there in Fenway there.

01:58Yovaldi, they're going to need a big year out of him, Craig, because the rest of their

02:02rotation, really, Yovaldi's involved in this too.

02:05I don't know.

02:07Where does DeGroff fit in this?

02:08I know they want to hold him back, so I don't know if he's going to pitch in one of these

02:10four games.

02:11He may pitch if they're playing Monday.

02:13He may pitch Monday there.

02:14Or because of the injuries, maybe they put him at the back end here where he goes Saturday

02:17or Sunday.

02:18Are they going to have Kumar Roker?

02:20He's the guy, by the way, who hit Tyrone Estrada, who broke his wrist.

02:24Is he going to be in the rotation?

02:25What's going on with Jack Leiter?

02:26You know, because they have so many injuries here, right?

02:28Bradford's out.

02:29They just signed Corbett.

02:31I can't see him pitching here.

02:32So I want to see where these youngsters are going to go.

02:36You know, so this is one of the ones I am paying attention to.

02:41I want to see how he looks, his first start with Boston.

02:45And then the game that I'll be at on Thursday.

02:48As we get the pitching matchup, I think, of opening day in Miami, Paul Skeens versus Sandy

02:55Alcantara.

02:56Alcantara out for the season last year.

02:58He is back.

02:59He looked good in the spring.

03:01Paul Skeens is must-see baseball, must-see TV.

03:05And then George, it's like really true TBD from there for game two.

03:08I think game three and four, the teams know who's going to pitch.

03:11But game two is supposed to be Jared Jones for Pittsburgh.

03:15Game two is supposed to be Ryan Weathers for Miami.

03:18So I believe, if I'm not mistaken, because I am a little closer to this, that Connor

03:22Gillespie may end up starting the second game of the season.

03:28I think so.

03:30Unless they move everybody up.

03:31I believe that's going to be the guy that's going to fill in, at least for the time being.

03:35And for Pittsburgh, I don't even know.

03:37So it's going to be game one, ton of excitement, awesome.

03:41And then we go from that to, who knows, after that, in that series.

03:45But look, these are two teams that I don't think are going to score a ton of runs in

03:50the series.

03:51I think it's low scoring.

03:52Yeah, I think that's safe to say, all right?

03:56It's all about Skeens and Alcantara.

03:57I mean, this is a pitching matchup for the ages, right?

04:00Looking forward to it so much.

04:01We'll see how Sandy looks, his first start back from TJ, and I think he's going to be

04:04great.

04:05We know Skeens is going to be great.

04:07Runs will be at a premium, to put it nicely here.

04:10And then we already talked earlier in the show, what's going to happen with Jared Jones.

04:13I don't think it's going to be good news here.

04:15Maybe Mitch Keller pitches game two there for Pittsburgh.

04:17I think we were all wondering if Bubba Chandler is going to take Jones' spot in the rotation,

04:22but apparently not.

04:26But that's what I'd be wondering, when they're going to bring up Bubba Chandler, who's another

04:29top prospect for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

04:31But this is all about game one and that fantastic pitching matchup.
