Hotels across the country are being used to house asylum seekers. How do you feel about local hotels being turned into accommodation for asylum seekers?

00:00I don't agree with it at all. I mean, okay, if they have a spare room, hotels is a business, they're going to take people in. And if the government's paying them, it's a cash 22, you know what I mean?
00:13I'm not sure it's the perfect thing for them, but I think accommodating asylum seekers gives us a much broader experience of the world and understanding of how other people's dilemmas, but also they bring in, they add to the community rather than take away.
00:30Yeah, I have a big problem with it, to be honest. I do. I think, yeah, we should be looking after Alan first. There's a lot of people on the streets that should be looked after. Should be housed first.
00:39I think it worked best when there was a pandemic because the hotels weren't open anyway. So it was a way for the hotels to recoup some of their income, right?
00:46Because they could just, the government would pay them to house people. Overall, I don't think it's the best use of the money, to be honest, because it creates a very negative view of the immigrants coming into the country.
