00:00Okay, so this one I really don't get.
00:02So, Donnie, you'll have to walk me through this one.
00:05The Washington Commanders, their window is open.
00:09They're going to be, to me, one of the best teams in the NFL.
00:12They have the best young quarterback going right now in the NFL,
00:16and his number one target is Terry McLaurin.
00:19I mean, I don't get it.
00:20Am I short-sighted here?
00:21What am I missing?
00:23I just think Washington's got to pay this guy.
00:26Like, Washington, you have probably two or three years,
00:28maybe four, to potentially win an NFC in a Super Bowl.
00:33I am not always for paying everybody.
00:35I do think, like, sometimes you've got to wait, but this is it.
00:38Like, Washington's been waiting 20 years to have this moment.
00:41I don't think you can hold out on this player, Donnie.
00:43What am I missing?
00:45You're not missing anything.
00:46I like to equate it here to, Craig, credit card time, right?
00:48You get a little bit down.
00:49I don't have the dollars in my pocket,
00:50but I think I can make this work over the next year or two
00:52and keep my bills paid.
00:54That's exactly what Washington should be doing.
00:56Worry about four or five years down the line,
00:58four or five years down the line.
01:00You just had a rookie quarterback last year
01:02absolutely light the league up and get to the NFC Championship game.
01:05And we're not talking about a malcontent
01:06who's coming off a major knee surgery.
01:08We're talking about Terry McLaurin,
01:09a two-time pro bowler that's easily a 1,000-yard wide receiver
01:12the minute you drop him back into that game.
01:14And if he's your key receiver,
01:16why would you mess up the apple cart
01:17and say all those good vibes last year?
01:19We're going to make the one guy who never has any problems or issues
01:22and always shows up on time to be that guy you're going to pick that.
01:25Again, you're right, $35 million, $40 million,
01:28certainly you're not going to do that.
01:29But there has to be some common middle ground
01:31that they can make happen.
01:32I'm surprised it went this long
01:33because when you do have the rookie quarterback
01:35on the rookie contract,
01:37this is the time where you spend money on everybody else
01:39but the quarterback.
01:40That's why you do it.
