00:00Okay, all right, so let's go to Debo Samuel, who I probably would think, I think it was

00:08it two years ago, or was it three, that he was easily the fantasy football MVP of the

00:12league.

00:13I think it was, was it two or three years ago?

00:15I forget how long it was, but had that breakout season, got the contract, and then, you know,

00:22from there, nothing happened.

00:23I don't know, like it sort of felt like he wasn't really as big a part of the game plan.

00:27I still kind of feel like he's the same player, but the 49ers just had their issues offensively

00:32over the last couple of years.

00:34Maybe it was a matter of him being able to play alongside McCaffrey.

00:36I'm not really sure, but look, if I'm another team, I guess the contract situation's a little

00:42bit formidable, but I think he's going to be fine at him.

00:45I think he ends up somewhere as a number one or number two wide receiver.

00:48Okay, we have to understand, Craig, with Debo Samuel, he's especially the receiver.

00:53You have to understand how to use this player.

00:55Kyle Shanahan coached him in 2019 at the Senior Bowl, and he knew exactly what he

00:59wanted to do with Samuel, because he saw some mistake with South Carolina, and he was like,

01:01all right, I can take this guy to the next level, and he did, certainly a part of their

01:05great Super Bowl runs, but for some reason, it was very strange, he was not the part of

01:11the offense like he should have been.

01:12It was bizarre to me.

01:13I don't know why he didn't get the ball more, because, you know, they'll use him as a runner.

01:16That was part of why they wanted him back when they sent him to that extension.

01:20Now moving forward here, he's on the last year of his deal.

01:24There's really very little guaranteed money left.

01:27So it's a tradable contract, but again, he's not going to be for everybody.

01:31We have to understand that.

01:33He's a guy who can play in the backfield.

01:35He's more of a slot receiver or move receiver.

01:38He would get the ball in his hands.

01:39He's not a defense.

01:40He's a running for the catch guy.

01:41He's not going to be for an offense coordinator who's not creative.

01:44That don't work.

01:45So you're going to eliminate some guys who are just not creative.

01:48He's not going to be for everybody.

01:49And by the way, he's 29 years old here.

01:50So he's certainly in the back nine of his career.

01:53So there's still a lot of options.

01:55And I would think that any team could end up with them.

01:58Any offensive option, by the way, in the NFL, the first graphic that we show always has

02:03Pittsburgh at the top.

02:04It feels like the Steelers are on top.

02:07Every player, every quarterback, every wide receiver, every offensive line, but it's always

02:10the Steelers.

02:11Denver, the Chargers, the Patriots, you know, I could see him with the Raiders too.

02:16It definitely feels like a Raiders type player.

02:19Pete Carroll knows all about Debo Samuel playing in the same division.

02:23You do bring up some really good points, because like if you close your eyes and you dream

02:26about Debo Samuel, you don't see him streaking toward the goal line and somebody throwing

02:30up a bomb.

02:31It's more of him catching something over the middle and breaking a couple tackles and go.

02:35By the way, you know, what's ironic is the Steelers were, they tried to get Brandon Iyuk

02:41from the Niners before Iyuk signed his extension.

02:43In fact, talking to them, they really felt they had a good shot to get him.

02:46They didn't.

02:47They got Mike Williams.

02:48It didn't work out like they had hoped, but the Steelers, I don't know how they keep making

02:51it to the playoffs, but they need major help on offense.

02:54They need a quarterback.

02:55I highly doubt Russell Wilson will be back.

02:57It's not a done deal yet, but the expectation around the league is he won't be back.

03:00They need a quarterback.

03:01They need two receivers.

03:02George Pickens, the word around there is, they know they're going to have to extend

03:07his contract.

03:08If not, it could get ugly.

03:10He's going to need a new deal.

03:12They're a team that, I'll say this much, their offense lines could be better.

03:16They're going to get a couple injured guys back.

03:18They need a quarterback and receivers.

03:20That's how they get to the next level.
