00:00Today we remember the Feast of Saint Martha, Mary and Lazarus, the three of them together,

00:23who are now considered to be saints by the Church.

00:25In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.

00:32We acknowledge our sins, but more importantly, the amazing love of our God.

00:38Loving God, you forgive our sins. Lord, have mercy.

00:42You turn to good everything for those who love you. Christ, have mercy.

00:46You call us away from fear and to love. Lord, have mercy.

00:50May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and life everlasting.

00:58Almighty ever-living God, whose Son was pleased to be welcomed into the house of Martha, Mary and Lazarus as a guest,

01:06grant, we pray, that through their intercession, serving Christ faithfully in our brothers and sisters,

01:13we may merit to be received by you in the halls of heaven, through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,

01:19who lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.

01:25A reading from the first letter of St. John.

01:33My dear people, let us love one another, since love comes from God,

01:37and everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God.

01:41Anyone who fails to love can never have known God, because God is love.

01:46God's love for us was revealed when God sent into the world His only Son,

01:51so that we could have life through Him.

01:53That is the love I mean, not our love for God, but God's love for us,

02:00when He sent His Son to be the sacrifice that takes our sins away.

02:04My dear people, since God has loved us so much, we too should love one another.

02:10No one has ever seen God, but as long as we love one another,

02:14God will live in us, and His love will be complete in us.

02:18We can know that we are living in Him, and He is living in us,

02:22because He lets us share His Spirit.

02:25We ourselves saw, and we testified, that the Father sent His Son, a Saviour of the world.

02:31If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God,

02:35God lives in them, and they in God.

02:37We ourselves have known and put our faith in God's love towards ourselves.

02:42God is love, and anyone who lives in love lives in God,

02:46and God lives in them.

04:23Many Jews had come to Martha and Mary

04:26to sympathize with them over their brother.

04:28When Martha heard that Jesus had come,

04:32the day she went to meet Him,

04:34Mary remained sitting in the house.

04:37Martha said to Jesus,

04:39If you had been here,

04:41my brother would not have died.

04:44But I know that even now,

04:46whatever you ask of God,

04:47He will grant you.

04:49Your brother said Jesus to her,

04:51We rise again.

04:52Martha said,

04:53I know who will rise again

04:56at the resurrection on the last day.

04:59Jesus said,

05:00I am the resurrection and the life.

05:03If anyone believes in me,

05:04even though they die,

05:06they will live.

05:07And whoever lives and believes in me

05:09will never die.

05:11Do you believe this?

06:01of that friendship,

06:03of that relationship,

06:05of that love.

06:07So we are invited

06:08to continue reflecting

06:09on our commitment

06:10to all of our relationships.

06:14Remember,

06:15we seek first to love.

06:17rather than to be loved.

06:19Of course,

06:20there's nothing wrong

06:21in rejoicing and being loved.

06:23But we seek first

06:24to love.

06:30Blessed are you,

06:31Lord God of all creation.

06:33For to your goodness

06:34we have this bread to offer.

06:36Which earth has given,

06:37human hands have made.

06:38It will become for us

06:39the bread of life.

06:41Blessed be God forever.

06:42For the mystery of this world.
