Oregon Ducks Coach Dan Lanning discusses how last season is motivating the ducks for the coming season
Transcript
00:00Hi, Dan, Colton Bartholomew, Wisconsin State Journal.
00:07There's a school in this conference that's suing over player tampering.
00:10Do you think that that's something that needs to be cracked down even more on in college football?
00:14Yeah.
00:18Did I bring it all there?
00:20No, I mean, just like play the game the way it's supposed to be played, right?
00:23But there has to be consequences to actions.
00:25And if there aren't consequences, then there's going to continue to be issues like that.
00:30Andy Anders, 11 Warriors.
00:35I know you said last season obviously doesn't have a bearing on this season,
00:39but to what extent did the way last season ended motivate your team coming into this offseason
00:45and winter workouts and all that?
00:47Yeah, for me as a coach, I think every coach probably feels this way,
00:52but we always remember the losses over the wins.
00:53I think there's a lot you can learn from that.
00:55It doesn't take away from what we were able to accomplish, but we lost to a great team.
00:58Coach Day did an unbelievable job last year of having his team in position to have success there,
01:02and there's some things that I feel like I could have done better there at the end.
01:06I don't think we played our best football.
01:09That being said, we did go undefeated in the conference.
01:11We won the Big Ten Championship in our first year.
01:13So, like I said, double down.
01:15Focus on our process.
01:16What do we have to continue to improve?
01:18There's always learning lessons, but it doesn't necessarily impact the future.
