Many students are currently going through university clearing; is university a better route for young people or are trades like plumbing etc better?

00:00I just think people need to look at trades as well and apprenticeships because I think you
00:04end up with loads of debt and go to university. If university is the right place for you then
00:08that's great but you've got to think about the debt and where it's going to take you
00:12and is it going to develop you and I think sometimes it does develop you because
00:18actually mixing with people from all different backgrounds is as important as the learning but
00:22it's an expensive way to learn so I think trades and other alternatives are really important to look
00:30at. I think there should be the choice. Trades is a good thing and then some people who are more
00:36academically excelling might want to go to the education route so I think there should be a
00:39choice. I don't think it's like a binary either. Apprenticeships in my opinion are the best way
00:43forward. I've got a couple of lads at work who started with a company at 18 and Warren's just
00:52finished his masters he's 30. So no I think apprenticeship is always best earn and learn at the same time.
