00:00as we take a look at some of the trade trackers here guys that were already on the move you take
00:04a look at ryan mcmahon ahmed rosario gregory soto eric fetty why he's on the move i had no idea but
00:09thank goodness he's still in major league baseball that's a perfect every fifth day started at eight
00:13and randall gritchuk but let me ask you this question coming up on thursday so many times in
00:17the past when you didn't have the expanded wild card right the expanded wild card brings more
00:21cities in more teams more cheering more important games down the stretch because more teams can make
00:25the playoffs but in the past is with parent at this time of the year when you were out of the
00:29playoff picture it was like the top four teams in major league baseball got their pick of the other
00:3425 plus franchises that they could just raid their organization and get their best players for
00:39prospects here and it was always as opposed to a seller's market it was a buyer's market now we're
00:45seeing the ultimate seller's market where it's like do you want eugenio suarez i want your top
00:50three prospects where 15 years ago like eugenio suarez goes for a middling single a prospect just
00:55to get him loose because i can't keep him because i can't pay him and i won't resign him next year
00:59joe talk to me about this year's deadline and we're not seeing those monster names that typically
01:04are on the market because teams can't afford them for what the asking price is going to be
01:10yeah well this is what major league baseball wanted donny didn't it by expanding the playoffs
01:16you've brought a whole you've brought at least another half dozen teams into the conversation at
01:21this time of year because even if you start looking down the board on the you know the wild card standings
01:27here there's still you know out in the american league you still have plenty of opportunities
01:34for teams like tampa uh the guardians kansas city the angels they're only five and a half games back
01:40the only team really out i think as you go down to baltimore and the athletics and the what there's
01:46still a ton of baseball to be played so that means what you know in years past those kinds of teams
01:52there that were four and a half five games out at this point yeah they were they were sellers we knew
01:57that that's not necessarily the case anymore here there are some teams that got to make a decision like
02:04kansas city sitting four games back they're two games under 500 four games out of the wild card donny
02:09and they are signing guys here as a small market that's the big difference and that's what major league
02:15baseball wanted more teams now have some more decisions it's not just as cut and dry like oh
02:21we'll get them next year no you good luck selling it to the fan base here with an opportunity of being
02:27four or five games out with uh over a month and a half to play here
