Kanpur, UP – A controversy has erupted after a video surfaced showing the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Bidhanu allegedly demanding ₹3 lakh from a truck owner following a minor collision near the block gate.
The viral video shows the BDO and Block Pramukh openly negotiating and allegedly extorting money in full public view. The truck was taken to the police station, and the matter was only resolved after prolonged talks, with the "deal" reportedly settled at ₹45,000.
The incident has sparked outrage on social media, raising serious questions about misuse of power by local officials. Authorities have not yet released an official statement on the matter.
