Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh: In a major crackdown on corruption, the Anti-Corruption Organization (ACB) team on Friday afternoon arrested Lekhpal Arun Kumar Yadav while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 in Jalalpur Tehsil.
The action followed a complaint by Indu Devi, a resident of Basia village, who alleged that the Lekhpal was demanding money for preparing a report related to her ancestral property.
The trap was executed by the Ayodhya Mandal ACB unit under Inspector Virendra Kumar Yadav. Arun Kumar Yadav was caught red-handed near Sahu Kirana Store in Jalalpur while taking the bribe.
After the arrest, he was taken to an undisclosed location for further interrogation. A case has been filed at Baskhari police station, and the Jalalpur SDM confirmed the operation.
