In Venezuela, citizens go to the polls on a historic elections' day, over 21 million people are called to elect their local authorities, and for the first time, the nation holds the national public youth consultation.

00:00And as Venezuelans continue to go to the polls in this Sunday's paramount election,
00:04let's go with our correspondent Bruno Falsi for more details of everything that is happening this electoral day.
00:13Hello, we are still here in the school Republic of Panama,
00:17where people are voting calmly and peacefully in this electoral process,
00:23where Venezuelan people are going to choose between two elections,
00:28a historical process in this country.
00:31The first one is the municipal election,
00:34where they're going to choose between 335 mayors and 2,471 councillors.
00:44It's a dispute, again, peacefully and democratically,
00:49a clash between government and opposition,
00:52where 36 political parties are participating in this election.
00:5713 from the government and 23 for the opposition.
01:02More than 21 million persons are going to at least vote today in this election.
01:09In Venezuela, the vote is not obligatory.
01:13And so people are coming very smoothly and fast.
01:19they are voting.
01:20As you can see, people are going and going in, going out in this electoral centre.
01:25Very fast, this electronic vote, and they are voting in peace.
01:30At the same time, it's passing the first popular consultation of the youth,
01:35where in this democratic participatory democracy and the popular power is in the people.
01:44And they are going to choose between 37,000 projects going to be voted today
01:53to improve the quality of life of the young people in their community.
01:58They are organized in 5,338 communes in all this country,
02:05where each one of these communes is going to vote in seven projects,
02:12and elect one to be financed by the state.
