00:00ALLOYS JUNIOR!
00:11OK, lads, when I say stop, you stop boxing.
00:14When I say break, take a step back.
00:16Keep your hands up, protect yourself at all times.
00:18Good luck to you both, good luck.
00:20Well, there's been Nasty Needle ahead of this Crunch Cruiserweight Clash.
00:25Biggest one on paper, certainly for Alloys Junior.
00:31This guy with a haunting persona.
00:35And he's in with Eli Cesaro in a rebuilding phase of his career.
00:41He looked really good at the start, but he was almost thrown to the wolves with that,
00:50well, icing by Jai Opatia, but then Opatia one of the pound-for-pound best.
00:55He is just trying to regain confidence, self-belief.
01:00Looks in really good shape, Zorro, but Alloys Junior has momentum.
01:05He's young, and Barry, he hits very, very hard.
01:08Yeah, he does with either hand, and what we saw in his last contest,
01:11he's not loading up and just willing to just throw the punches in the combination
01:15and pick the tag at the hit rather than just throw Wildy.
01:18So it just makes him a much more dangerous opponent to come up against.
01:22And it's for Zorro, you know, you'd have to take the Opatia fight.
01:24It's a chance just to gatecrash the world scene.
01:26You know, it's an opportunity to box one of the very best.
01:28You take it too early for him, of course.
01:31And against Clark, he wasn't doing that bad.
01:33He wasn't winning the fight.
01:34He wasn't doing that bad, and he got caught with a good shot.
01:37It just depends on how much they've dented his confidence.
01:39He's not hanging about here.
01:41Alloys Junior straight on the front foot, showing no respect whatsoever.
01:45It's about Zorro, I feel, getting in the rhythm behind the jab.
01:50Not giving up too much ground.
01:51Keep that chin tucked down and the hands high.
01:53You're spot on.
01:55The jab from Alloys Junior looking strong and powerful early.
02:00He has the middle of the ring, and he's trying to back Zorro right up,
02:05and remind him of where he's been in the last couple of years.
02:10Zorro's got to keep his shape.
02:14Sorry, Adam, I worry about that lead hand coming out a little bit too far from Zorro.
02:19A double step, a double jab from Alloys Junior,
02:21then that right hand over that lead hand could be all she wrote.
02:26It's difficult for Zorro because he has to be a bit more assertive than this,
02:28otherwise Junior's just going to walk him down.
02:30But also, if he ends up punching with the puncher,
02:34he's going to come off second best.
02:35Well, he's fencing with that jab, Ellis Zorro.
02:38That's good.
02:38He's got seven knockouts in his 18 wins.
02:42He's of course fought in much higher company than Alloys Junior has so far,
02:48but they really like him in the Ben Davison stable.
02:52Alloys Junior, I've been there when he's sparring and he's a student of the game,
02:57despite the sort of caricature he's built up.
03:01Nice work from Zorro.
03:03Big applause from the corner here.
03:05That was good then, just a few seconds ago, because Zorro was moving his feet quite well,
03:10but Alloys Junior just cut the ring off, just took his time slowly, just went side to side,
03:14cut it off, until in the end then Zorro was in the corner, and then he exploded into a combination.
03:19Nothing came of it, but the patience in his work, just again to not follow him,
03:24just cut the ring off step by step, step by set, and get him where he wanted him.
03:30And you feel every second Zorro stays with Alloys Junior, that will help really build his self-belief.
03:40One night, 17 kids woke up, got out of bed, walked into the dark, and never came back.
03:56This is a true story.
03:59I want to know what happened in her classroom.
04:01Where are our children?
04:15Weapons, ready door, focus Dave.
04:21The blue corner, Alloys Junior, trained by Ben Davison, Barry Smith in there as always.
04:27Corners, 10 seconds.
04:32Fantastic group of fighters they've got down there, AJ's done plenty of work with Alloys Junior
04:40and those black trunks, and he has to zone on them, which is good to see.
04:43I've got to say, it's fantastic, I've got to say, if anyone goes ringside watching a fight,
04:47and see Barry Smith in the corner, for one round only, watch Barry Smith in the corner,
04:52he's the funniest, most animated man you've ever, he's so invested in this fighter,
04:58that he almost, he's dodging, punching, he's throwing, he's shouting, he's cheering,
05:01he's absolutely TV gold to watch.
05:05You're absolutely right, he's a fabulous character.
05:08Yeah, he's so funny.
05:09Yeah, good patience start from Alloys Junior.
05:11He got going, didn't he, aggressive on the front foot.
05:13I think he'll understand that Zorro, in that fight against Shev Clark,
05:18he didn't do too bad early on, he started getting in a bit of a groove, he was moving,
05:21got in a nice rhythm behind the jab, and it took Shev Clark eight rounds,
05:25so he'll understand that he's a bag of tricks at times.
05:29A couple of tasty body shots there from Alloys Junior, and some reddening
05:34around the mid-riff of Ellis Zorro.
05:37The power that has taken care of nine opponents in those 10 victories.
05:43He's got to be quick again, with those feet, Alloys Junior.
05:48Again, when Zorro pouring with that lead hand, step, step,
05:52and then the right hand over the top.
05:54Zorro just got to be a bit more disciplined with that lead hand, I feel.
05:57But he's making Zorro move a lot, without having too much success.
06:01Zorro's not in real danger yet, but he's making Zorro move a lot,
06:05and he's also, he is getting him into the corner, so he's not really capitalising on that yet,
06:09but maybe he's getting the feel for it.
06:11And that was a little worrying as well, when you see Ellis Zorro in that neutral corner,
06:16just sort of darting towards Alloys Junior to try and tie him up.
06:20Good work to the body.
06:23Solid punch out, Adam.
06:24So you don't want to be on the ropes in the corner, but on the ropes more than the corner if you can.
06:28He just had two glances down at the corner there, Ellis Zorro.
06:32I think he's starting to feel the power of Alloys Junior, and he just looks slightly,
06:38ever so slightly uncomfortable.
06:40It's the physical strength as well, that presence in front of you all the time,
06:46knowing that you're getting walked down and you're in there with a fighter that punches very hard.
06:51Nice double left hook.
06:53But up to this point, except for those body shots, nothing's been really that bad so far for Zorro.
06:58So I think it's the mental strength, you're constantly having to concentrate all the time.
07:02That can tire you out. But again, until Alloys Junior lands with a big shot,
07:08the one that really, really scrambles the senses, then Zorro won't be too upset what's happening.
07:12He's not winning the wrong, in my opinion, but there's no real danger yet attached to anything that's going on.
07:19He's got to do plenty of this, Zorro.
07:21Tie out Alloys Junior, spinning round, pushing back onto the rope by time.
07:25Just seeing that Alloys Junior just pushed the rope in the way.
07:31But he's got to let his hands go, like you mentioned earlier,
07:33Darren, just quicken his feet up a little bit now,
07:36and trying to jab to the body and right hand over the top.
07:39We can have a little bit of something on the right hand with it now.
07:54You're touching that jab, you're touching that jab.
07:57Sorry now.
07:58Yeah, you're touching that jab, you're touching that jab.
07:59If you're timing, you'll step off it, chuck the right hand.
08:01You'll safely step off the line.
08:02A little touch, touch, step, bang, right hand.
08:04And fall in on the right hand, so you can get the smother off it.
08:06You can't get a count of nothing, do you know what I mean?
08:08Lovely work, lovely work.
08:09How do you feel?
08:10Good.
08:11That's what I want, that's what I want.
08:12Lovely work.
08:13My bad.
08:21Mickey Boak leaving the corner, Martin Bowers in there after the success he had
08:26with Carl Fail earlier.
08:27Corners, ten seconds.
08:29They admitted the team that this came out of the blue a bit,
08:32but that he couldn't turn it down.
08:34Ellis Zorro, he stays at the gym.
08:36Jeremy.
08:36Round three.
08:37Sparked Joshua Vauazzi for the Callum Smith fight.
08:40He's always in tip-top condition.
08:43And I guess it's all about the mental demons, isn't it, Darren?
08:47The more he gets into this, the more rounds under his belt.
08:50If he could cope with that physicality of Ellis Jr.
08:54He's got skills, Zorro.
08:56Yeah, he has.
08:56Like I say, we see that against Clark in parts of some of the early rounds in that contest.
09:04And I think it's about talking some of these early rounds off, not putting too much of a dent,
09:08as Barry said.
09:08The worry of the shock coming away sends panic signals to the body and it really does empty the tank.
09:17Barry, not long ago, Ellis Zorro was signed by Queensbury on the back of that boxer tournament win
09:23as their sort of hot prospect.
09:24Well, he's not a bad fighter.
09:26I think, you know, it's easy that we might have a couple of losses.
09:28One against world level, which is not at that level.
09:31That can always be discounted.
09:33And the chef Clark is British title level and he fell short joining.
09:37It doesn't mean you're a bad fighter overnight.
09:39And he keeps taking these difficult fights and this is another one for him.
09:42But, you know, he hasn't, he's not looking out of his depth here.
09:45I mean, he's not winning the rounds either, but neither one's doing a lot.
09:48Alois Jr's not doing loads either, I don't think.
09:51Working the body quite well, but I think he needs to be a little bit more assertive.
09:54Because even though he's making Zorro move and think, he's not making him panic.
09:58He's probably nicking these rounds, Alois Jr, but Zorro's still very much in this.
10:05This is the third round where just nine weeks ago,
10:09we saw Alois Jr get rid of David Jamieson in stunning fashion, really.
10:14Now the Commonwealth belt to his WBA continental belt.
10:18He's got all sorts of titles which are brought in by the man in the hat with the shades.
10:22Different, you liked him, didn't you?
10:25I love him.
10:26Different opponent with Zorro, looking to move more.
10:29Jamieson was happy to trade with Alois Jr, and that was obviously his downfall.
10:34Walked on to a beautiful shot, but yeah, patience required here.
10:39Zorro, I think a bit more commitment with the jab, the lead hand.
10:44Believe in that shot, just don't put it out for the sake of it.
10:47That's when you will get counter, so really commit to the lead hand.
10:50See, I think what you said there, Darren, belief, I think he has to throw that.
10:54I think he can throw a one-two down the line with conviction, but then look to hold and spin.
10:59I wouldn't get carried away with doing more than one than two shots.
11:02Single shots are no good to you, because that allows Jr to fire over the top.
11:06But a one-two down the line, really fast, go bam-bang, get low, hold and turn and move away.
11:12Smash and grab, really.
11:13Yeah, exactly. Don't get greedy.
11:15And I think, look, you've always got to show respect to your opponent, but not too much.
11:18Don't give him too much respect. You've still got to do what you do.
11:22And if you can make a big punch and miss, if you can make a big punch and miss,
11:25with those swinging shots, that will take his energy.
11:29Try and reverse that panic into him, make him miss, make him pay.
11:35A slight frustration there from Alois Jr, as he dug the body shot in.
11:41A slight frustration there from the other side of the line.
11:47Boxing absolutely flying and coming August the 23rd to DAZN.
11:53Italian football has a new home, Zarya A, and all included in your subscription.
12:04August.
12:06What a big month for boxing and for football, Darren Barker.
12:10You've not mentioned the Club World Cup winners.
12:13No.
12:14Neither have I mentioned what Liverpool's doing in the transfer market, Darren Barker.
12:18Have you seen?
12:19By the way, it was Chelsea, right?
12:21Really?
12:22You didn't miss it, did you?
12:23No.
12:24Fair play.
12:24Congratulations.
12:25I was there with my Wales top on.
12:27She was.
12:27Sporters, 10 seconds.
12:29I won the Chelsea kind of sport.
12:31Yeah, she was.
12:32I was the other side.
12:33What was the other side?
12:35Chelsea won that.
12:36The Lions had a big win today.
12:38Sporters absolutely flying.
12:40Oasis in at Wembley and everyone's in round here announcing Oasis.
12:44Yep.
12:45Oasis at Wembley.
12:46Oleksandr Usyk last week and the Bournemouth international centre for us tonight is lively.
12:52It's summer on the south coast.
12:54It's Alois Jr. and Elis Zorro in the co-main event, I think they called it, or Chief Support.
13:02Ryan Garner and Rhys Bellotti to come, a fight we've been looking forward to for several weeks.
13:09But I think the onus is now on Alois Jr.
13:11Yeah.
13:12He is walking down, but I mean, start doing that now, start making that pressure,
13:18which hasn't been intense enough, but turn the screw a little bit now.
13:22You've got to fight.
13:23He hasn't fought, he hasn't thrown that right hand with real conviction yet.
13:26It's been decent on the front foot as far as pressure is concerned,
13:29but the shots haven't really followed.
13:30That's better, that right hand.
13:35I thought it was a little bit shorter, actually.
13:37I just don't know.
13:37I think you've got to, if you don't touch with the jab,
13:41you're pretty much not going to run with the right hand with the power that you want.
13:44So once you touch with that jab, then you can just commit with the right hand.
13:48Good defense there from Zorro, trying to really implement his own jab.
13:55And he's boxing okay, Zorro, I think, you know, I know he's doing enough.
14:02Well, he's just trying to box to plan, isn't he?
14:05Tactics to frustrate the heavier, maybe slightly slower, Alois Jr.
14:11No, exactly that, stick to a plan.
14:13And it would have been to drag this fight into the later round, stay switched on,
14:17focus, don't do anything silly, but you still, as I say, don't show too much respect.
14:23You've got to do what you do well, and what he does have in his locker is a good jab.
14:28He varies the shot well, that's not good enough.
14:30He's got to be quicker with that lead hand, sharper.
14:33He was very sharp, Elis Oro, when he won the boxer tournament, and although it was at a level,
14:42there were unbeaten novices in there, and he did the job.
14:46It was a good night for him, and it gave him some decent momentum and some paydays, and at 32,
14:55he's still got the ambition to take these tough tests.
14:59What was Alois Jr. as well?
15:01I'll take half a step before I throw the shot, just falling short with his jab.
15:04It's the movement of Zorro, just frustrating him.
15:07That couldn't have been comfortable for Elis Oro, with Alois Jr. on you like that.
15:12Just falling short with a jab, the man from Penj.
15:26You had so much going through your mind then, Barry, didn't you? Behave.
15:34Yeah, no, I think half a step from Alois Jr., then throw the shot,
15:37he's just falling short with his jab.
15:39He needs to get those feet closer to Zorro.
15:43He's looking for that big shot, and he's not coming.
15:46See, sometimes you can't wait for the opportunity, you have to create the opportunity,
15:50and that's by doing the work with the jab.
15:53Getting your foot closer could be wrong for Zorro, I thought.
15:56Yeah, decent from Elis Oro.
15:58It's about halfway through.
16:04Autumn and winter.
16:06It's going to be hot on the zone.
16:09Saturday, November the 22nd.
16:11Ring four, ring three was spectacular at the Louis Armstrong Center.
16:16A fortnight or so ago.
16:17David Benavidez, Anthony Yard, Devin Haney, Brian Norman, they're the headliners.
16:25I think your man, Bam, is back on as well.
16:27A talk maybe of Dalton Smith's world title shot.
16:31It's just a fabulous night of boxing.
16:34I'll tell you what, Yard, he don't kick them easy, does he?
16:38He'll get in there with absolutely anyone.
16:40Benavidez are well out.
16:42Corners, ten seconds.
16:43Benavidez, Betepiev, and then Kovalev in Kovalev's hometown.
16:48Yeah.
16:48And Celibins.
16:49Seconds out.
16:50That's a run.
16:51I mean, a run, and it might be three defeats, you've got a chance,
16:55but I mean, only Alan Rudkin back in the 60s has taken a bigger risk than that.
17:00And do you know what as well?
17:01He don't go there to make up the numbers, does he?
17:03He goes there with real desire and ambition to win those fights,
17:06and he'll do that against Benavidez.
17:08The light heavyweight division, good right hand by Zorro,
17:11but back comes Allos Jr. with a heavier shot.
17:14The light heavyweight division on fire, the Cruiserweights too.
17:18Chris Billensmith watching that ringside,
17:21the legend, really, from Bournemouth, former world champion,
17:25aiming to solidify his place, really, amongst the best Cruiserweights.
17:29But Allos Jr., Ellis Zorro, well, they're fighting for a really bright future here.
17:35What did that trade-off tell you?
17:37Yeah, well, look, I think it may have been some
17:40stern instructions in the corner from Ben Davison.
17:42Come on, let's get going now.
17:44He started this round very, very quickly, more intent.
17:49I think it's been their tactic to just make him work, walk him down.
17:52I don't think the pressure's been enough, but I think they've gone,
17:55this is your time to go now.
17:56Because it's made notes for both of them, really, that's the truth.
17:59So he's probably gone, this is your time to go.
18:02You've walked him down, you've got plenty of energy left, show him that power.
18:07There was talk of Allos Jr., possibly fighting Vidal Riley.
18:10I saw Vidal at Boxfest last weekend.
18:15There's some tasty matchups in this Cruiserweight division,
18:18but this one is still yet to be set in the fifth round.
18:23He's starting to hold his feet a little bit more here, Zorro.
18:27I don't know if it's because he wants to, or he's just slowing down slightly.
18:32And that will suit, obviously, the bigger puncher in Allos Jr.
18:39Who's expended more energy?
18:41Who's got more in the tank?
18:46They haven't thrown a great deal, haven't they?
18:48Through four rounds, only the 18 from Ellis Zorro.
18:51He's training a bit here, Zorro.
18:53Good work to the body from Allos Jr., but...
18:55Well, sometimes when you tie it, you anchor down a little bit more, didn't you?
18:59You get a bit more purges in your punches, because you can't move your feet.
19:02Yeah, it was 89 there that he'd actually thrown, but only 18 power shots.
19:07And that goes back to that you've got to show an element of respect,
19:09but you've still got to commit to your own shots.
19:12And that's just showing that Zorro isn't quite doing that yet,
19:16but still boxing to a plan.
19:1830 seconds left of this the fifth round.
19:31Some people didn't think it would go this far that Allos Jr. would win early and spectacularly,
19:37but give credit to Team Zorro.
19:38They've taken the opportunity, and they're trying to craft out here a win against the odds.
19:46Good work from Zorro.
19:48That's a lot better.
19:49He brought his feet down again with the right hand.
19:51Lovely shot.
19:51Lovely work from Ellis Zorro, right at the halfway mark.
19:55This is getting really interesting.
20:07I don't think it's a case of that.
20:09You see Allos Jr. here, when he let his hands go for the first time,
20:12landed a lovely right hand there.
20:14Zorro did the right thing, though.
20:15He felt the shot.
20:16He went low, threw a good shot at himself,
20:18which is a really good right hand here.
20:20But he held on very quickly.
20:22You see it there.
20:22Gets the arms underneath the...
20:26And just holds on for dear life and spins around,
20:28and that was good.
20:29He saved himself.
20:30But majority, most of that round there,
20:32it's again, it's still Allos Jr. looking for the target,
20:36just not letting his hands go enough.
20:37And for Zorro, I think he's just struggling with Zorro's rhythm a little bit here.
20:41I think he knows this will be his time to go,
20:43and he hasn't been able to do it yet.
20:44CBS.
20:48Break to see him.
20:48Hamza Shiraz.
20:49Second's out.
20:50Round six.
20:52Some of the best British fighters are here tonight,
20:55because they want to be around Ryan Garner.
20:58Thanks.
20:59Some of the best current British fighters are here tonight.
21:03Former world champions alongside me,
21:07trying to get their bit.
21:08The egos and all that.
21:10Allos Jr. and it's Zorro.
21:13Oh, they're still aiming.
21:14High hope.
21:15Zorro winning with Giles.
21:16As Barry said earlier, take your chances.
21:20And he did.
21:21And I was on the flight home with him,
21:24and he sort of said he was just going to dust himself down and come again.
21:28He did against Shev Clark.
21:29And there were moments in that fight where he was boxing really well.
21:33Again tonight, I think at the halfway point, he'll be pretty pleased.
21:36Yeah, I think so.
21:37And I think the way he finished that fifth round are signs of what he should be doing.
21:42Look, pick your moments.
21:43Don't get greedy.
21:44But when you can follow through that right hand after that nice jab, do so.
21:48But commit to the shot.
21:49And look, I think for Allos Jr., it's a change in tempo now.
21:52Get going.
21:53Sharper with the feet.
21:54Sharper with the hands.
21:55When you get Zorro here, really work away.
21:59Changing of levels as well.
22:00Body head, body head.
22:01And that's that arrogance of a puncture.
22:03You know, if I can land with a clean shot, I can knock anybody out.
22:07But sometimes you forget about doing the work just in case.
22:10Changing of levels or changing of gears.
22:14Plan B, that was low.
22:15Right hand from Allos Jr.
22:19But if the power doesn't work, where's the plan B?
22:22But that's what I'm saying.
22:23I think sometimes that arrogance then turns into frustration.
22:26Because you start doubting your ability to be able to land the shots.
22:30Or even hurt your opponent.
22:32Nice right hand from Allos Zorro.
22:34I think he's growing in confidence here.
22:36The 32-year-old looking for victory number 19.
22:40It will be a really big one if he could find it in this.
22:43Look at his eyes.
22:44Three good jabs there as well for me.
22:46Jab to the body and double jab down to the head.
22:49Nice fluency to his work.
22:50You can see he is bringing full of confidence.
22:53And this is Junior's part to play here.
22:57But a big shot takes that confidence away.
23:00But Allos Jr. is going to start pulling the trigger a little bit more here.
23:05And that doesn't necessarily mean loading up with every single shot.
23:08Put them together nice and quick.
23:10Every third or full shot can be a heavy blow.
23:14It doesn't all need to be a shot that you're loading up with.
23:19Just looking a bit heavy on his feet here, Allos Jr.
23:22Boxing on the outside Zorro, again behind that jab.
23:29Doing a little bit more, coming right back into this.
23:32It's close now.
23:33Yeah, he's boxing really well here, last couple of rounds here, Zorro.
23:37Good, just varying up the movement as well, left and right.
23:44He's got to try and get that right foot across.
23:47Allos Jr., as he moves to his left Zorro and throw that right hand.
23:50Yeah, well, that had landed.
23:53But he did well there, Zorro.
23:55This is beautiful, this is what we need.
24:07I've seen a little bit more with that right hand every now and again.
24:09The touch-touch Zerbler jab, you're beating around his ear all,
24:12you're checking to his body, go that side, stop that touch-touch every now and again.
24:15He started boxing at 21 in his Zorro.
24:19It's only 11 years ago, he was in the business studies and
24:24sports science degree at Brunel University.
24:28Always played sport, but that's fantastic.
24:32He's not allowed to do his work when you're on the road.
24:34You got it?
24:37Real respect for stories like that.
24:40And he's got a good job for himself.
24:46This is, we all felt, ultimately, Zorro's a good boxer,
24:49but that Allos Jr. is going to get to him.
24:51And we all felt that.
24:53You've just got to think of the form fighter.
24:55But it's certainly a good bit of a matchmaking here, I think.
24:58Well, let's bring Karl in.
24:59Karl and I had a chat earlier.
25:00We thought it might finish early with Allos Jr. in the win column.
25:04Yeah, I expected the fight to be over already, if I'm being honest, at this stage.
25:08But Zorro's boxing really well, especially the last couple of rounds.
25:11And I think the problem with Allos Jr. here is he's getting really frustrated.
25:16He's trying to land that right hand, well, nearly landed there, just as I said it.
25:21But it hasn't landed clean often enough for him.
25:24And it's almost like he's trying too hard to land it.
25:27And the more he misses, the more frustrated he becomes.
25:30But he needs to change something here.
25:34Maybe a bit more ferocity and maybe let the hands go a little bit more too.
25:38But that double jab to get close and then try and land the right hand I think could work.
25:43Karl, Victor Laughlin, Mark Bates and Kevin Parker just in front of us, the judges.
25:48How do you think they'll be seeing it?
25:50I think it's reasonably tight.
25:53I give Zorro the last two rounds at least.
25:55So it could be 4-2, possibly 3-all.
26:00I would say 4-2 at this stage.
26:02But again, Zorro's looking okay the first part of this round.
26:08Yeah, I agree with Karl there.
26:09Because even though Zorro was doing okay in some of the rounds,
26:11he wasn't doing enough to win them in my opinion.
26:13But he was keeping Alois Jr. at bay and frustrating him at times.
26:17And that was important in those early rounds to take away a bit of that fire.
26:22But I think that Alois Jr. just thought he could walk up on him.
26:24And just walk up and whack him and he would panic.
26:26And it hasn't quite worked yet.
26:28And this is the sign of a champion though, or the makers of a champion.
26:31If you can...
26:32When fights don't work out the way you planned them,
26:35changing the tact, changing the tempo, changing the pattern of a fight.
26:38Darren, 4-2 or 3 apiece, it's fairly tight.
26:42At least we think that.
26:44Who's going to be the happier corner at the moment?
26:46Well, funny enough, I was going to say that in between the break there,
26:49Martin Bowers and the rest of the team very, very happy with their charge.
26:53They believe their man is fighting to a game plan.
26:56And he's picking his moments.
26:58Look, he's doing enough when he has to do that.
27:01You know, he's throwing the jab and he's got to throw it.
27:04He's throwing the one-two, he's not getting carried away.
27:06And that's the right thing.
27:07You know, you've got to stay switched on and discipline.
27:10Discipline is the word when you're in there with someone who punches like Alois Jr.
27:14Your job is to try and frustrate the bigger puncher.
27:17Try and get them to load up, tense up.
27:19Then you can see the shots coming.
27:21And then you, as you'd have to say, more of a natural counter punch.
27:24Then you can find those openings.
27:25But also, the fact that Alois Jr. is throwing single shots all the time,
27:29just means Zoro, every time he throws, he's got to bring the hand back, take the feet out for a little bit.
27:33Because there's no combination coming back, it's a single shot.
27:35He's thinking, I just got to make sure the next shot doesn't hit me.
27:38So there's no second shot to follow through.
27:40Yeah, this is interesting as well.
27:41He's been able to hold the center of the ring a little bit in this round, in patches.
27:47And his jab's been good, Ellis Zoro again.
27:50Good work.
27:51I think that's another round for Zoro.
27:54And he looks a bit sorry for himself, Alois Jr. as he goes back to Ben Davison.
27:59There's work to do here.
28:00Active each jab, yeah.
28:03Sitting waiting for them too often.
28:08Like, no problem offering it once or twice.
28:10Don't get it.
28:11Eighty.
28:12Eighty-twenty.
28:13Can't wait for it to then come back to it.
28:14Okay.
28:15Discipline.
28:18Keep working him up and down with that right hand as well.
28:21Still young, 22.
28:25And this is early in his career.
28:27He lost his professional debut.
28:28He was a bit thrown in last minute.
28:30Won every single fight impressively since.
28:34But this was the step up.
28:37The first mini test, and it is a test.
28:42This is where you've got to be able to think on your feet.
28:44The corner is very important, of course, to keep him calm and simple instructions,
28:47which it'll do.
28:48But you've got to learn to adapt yourself, though.
28:50So he has to just be a little bit more active with his hands.
28:52You've got to throw in combinations.
28:54What Kyle was saying, you know, let your hands go.
28:56Don't worry about attracting the power.
28:57You have natural power.
28:59Just throw with the shots.
29:00Turn the hips into the punches and relax a little bit more.
29:03But you've got to let your hands go.
29:05And not just pressure with the feet.
29:06It's got to be physical pressure.
29:08You've got to make Zorro feel the punches.
29:10Hit him anywhere.
29:11Just make him feel it.
29:13A touch under nine minutes of boxing left in this Cruiserweight battle.
29:18The vacant WBC international belt.
29:21One of the prizes.
29:22And team Alloys Junior came in with plenty of treasure.
29:28But Elisoro is putting in a really good shift here tonight.
29:31It's clever.
29:32It's not always that eye-catching.
29:38But he's nipping around the ring.
29:41The jab is working.
29:42And he's not been intimidated by Alloys Junior.
29:45He survived those first two or three rounds.
29:48And I think his confidence grew from there.
29:50There's more of a spring to his step.
29:52A swagger.
29:53And I think he's enjoying it now.
29:54Yeah, I still like to see him sharpen up a little bit more with that jab.
29:58That's Bessar.
29:58That's good.
29:59That's where he needs to throw it.
30:00Then he can follow the right hand through.
30:02Remember, this is the round that Sheff Clark got the job done.
30:05And Sheff Clark in that fight, he just got going.
30:07He got busy in that eighth round.
30:09And we need Alloys Junior to try and do that.
30:12Ben Davison will really be wanting his man to get going, go through the gears.
30:17The thing is, when you're boxing well, which he is,
30:19he's got a little bit of rhythm to his work.
30:21It's about not making any mistakes, but keeping active as well.
30:24He can slow down, he can coach for a second, but don't switch off.
30:30And that's the important thing for him.
30:30You've got to keep that concentration at the very highest,
30:33which is very tiring to do.
30:34And that's what the very good fighters do,
30:37that they manage to change the pattern of a fight.
30:41You know, whether it be them making the adjustments
30:43or making their opponents do things they don't want to do,
30:45they find a way.
30:47But if you can keep Alloys Junior to single shots,
30:51then Zara will very well.
30:52I would put him in real good favour to walk away with this fight.
30:56Alloys Junior's got us out of the combinations, single shots.
30:59The single shot might finish it,
31:01but the combinations are going to set it up.
31:03He threw those combinations in the first couple of rounds.
31:06Alloys Junior, there's been sporadic moments
31:09when he's really got those hands working,
31:11but at times he's been stuck in the mud.
31:13Good body shot from Ellis Soro.
31:16And have they bitten off a little bit more that they can chew at this stage?
31:20Team Davidson.
31:22It was seen as a risk for Ellis Soro,
31:25and I wonder if it's the other way around now.
31:27Yeah, I mean, it was always a step up for Alloys Junior,
31:29but the right step in the right direction, wasn't it?
31:31It really was, so you have to make him a favour,
31:33because he was on a roll and he looked so good in his last contest.
31:36But you know, sometimes Zoro, obviously, he's got a point to prove.
31:39This is a fight, if he loses this one,
31:41there's a big road back for him to get to the British level, isn't there?
31:45He's being out-boxed here.
31:47Big time, Alloys Junior.
31:49Last three or four rounds.
31:51Comes back, still got the firepower.
31:53That's another in the back for Ellis Soro.
31:55Now, come on.
32:03Guys, guys.
32:05Oi.
32:06Six minutes, kid.
32:08You got it?
32:09You're doing a great job.
32:10Two rounds, good two rounds.
32:11This is yours.
32:11That green fucking belt's yours.
32:13Look at me.
32:14Stay focused.
32:15Six minutes, the best six minutes of one in your life.
32:16The best six minutes of your life.
32:18Yeah?
32:18Yeah, water.
32:19Give it to me.
32:21Nice one, nags.
32:22On the edge.
32:24You're throwing it lovely and then you're looking at it.
32:26Don't do that.
32:27Throw the jab.
32:28Let him look at it and then throw it again, please.
32:30That's what's good at the end of the round.
32:31What a crucial last couple of rounds here.
32:34We're not winning them enough.
32:36Got me?
32:36We need to do it.
32:37Just submit this.
32:38Good Ellis Soro.
32:39The best two rounds.
32:40He got a career salvaging, changing win.
32:46He's boxed very well tonight under pressure.
32:49Round one.
32:51Alloys Junior, aggressive nine knockouts in those ten wins.
32:56He'll be dangerous every second he's in there.
33:00But is he doing enough to catch the eye of the judges?
33:03A penny for the thoughts of the three wise men in front of us.
33:09Yeah, we can't let this frustration get the better of him.
33:12He's got to feed off of it somehow.
33:14Don't let it make you feel sorry for yourself.
33:16You know, try something different.
33:19Look at this.
33:20Total punches landed.
33:2264 to the 63 of Alloys Junior through eight rounds.
33:28And again, the jabs.
33:29Yeah, the jab's 42.
33:31And that jab is just enough just to stop Alloys Junior from walking through him,
33:36walking up to him and let that shot go.
33:39And it was always going to be his key to success, wasn't it, Barry?
33:42That jab.
33:43But also his invitation for Alloys Junior to throw that right hand over the top,
33:47which he hasn't really done enough of, I haven't thought.
33:49He hasn't really been committed.
33:51And maybe that's because the confidence changed the direction from Zorro,
33:53the good movement with the feet.
33:55I think he's boxed really well so far, Zorro.
33:58I agree.
33:58And this fight's a really close contest now.
34:01I think Zorro's winning it.
34:02But I wonder what Ben Davison thinks in the Alloys Junior corner,
34:06right hand from his man.
34:08And I guess it's the case of what the judge is like here.
34:11Alloys Junior very much the fighter on the way up,
34:14the 22-year-old with the star power.
34:19But Ellis Zorro's box to plan.
34:22The feet are the issue here for Alloys Junior.
34:25Look, we know he carries power, but you've got to get your feet there
34:27to be able to land the shots.
34:28And he's just not been quick enough.
34:30But cumbersome at times, ploddy.
34:33It just seems to be a lot, lot sharper with those feet.
34:38Education, of course.
34:39Barry, too.
34:41These sort of fights for the youngsters.
34:45Yeah.
34:45And let's not forget, he has the power.
34:47So, you know, he can knock him out in any second of any rung.
34:50He has that sort of power.
34:51We've seen that before, and I believe it's real.
34:54But that is right.
34:55He has not been getting close enough with the feet.
34:58But I think he's been getting closer at times
35:00and not be willing to let the trenches go for some reason.
35:02And that's maybe just a lack of confidence,
35:04a little bit of frustration,
35:05because Zorro's box better than what he thought he would have.
35:08Maybe he would have thought he would have got this job done earlier,
35:10and it hasn't worked.
35:11And mentally, you've got to reset yourself.
35:12I think I've got to push through.
35:14And all these things you learn as you go along.
35:16I agree with the corner of Zorro there.
35:19He just spun Alois Jr. into the blue corner.
35:23And he had an opportunity to let his hands go,
35:25and they were crying out,
35:26let your shots go, let your shots go.
35:27And he didn't.
35:28That was a nice uppercut there.
35:29Just took the sting out of the shot, Zorro.
35:32Good jab there as well from Zorro.
35:34Both have been ten rounds once before.
35:38That's Ellis Zorro's biggest win might be the one against Jose Burton
35:42in seven rounds a couple of years ago.
35:45Good fighter, Burton.
35:47But he's, well, this would be the victory.
35:53I think he's on course for it.
35:54Brilliant.
35:56How often do you force him to reset?
36:00Yeah.
36:00Beyond them, yeah?
36:04Goal for there in that corner.
36:06What do you think they feel in there?
36:09Frustration for me, I think fighter and corner.
36:14When you change up from your full degree set.
36:16It's not gonna run like that.
36:17They much want their charge doing a lot more than he is.
36:21All smiles in the corner though, but big finish required here.
36:25All right, understood.
36:27Carl, I want to bring you in.
36:31How are you seeing things?
36:32It's close, I will say that.
36:34I'm not sure who's winning.
36:35I probably maybe just have Alloys in front, but it's a very, very close fight here.
36:40And like we said, we've been talking about it the whole fight, he's getting a little bit frustrated.
36:46Barry mentioned it that he's trying to land one big shot rather than just let the hands go.
36:50He's not really heavy handed.
36:52I think there needs to be more of an output for him.
36:55Big gulp of air from Alloys Jr.
36:57Will it be a grandstand finish?
36:59He started very well in this fight.
37:01They've been close rounds.
37:03Zorro's definitely got into a rhythm.
37:05His feet have worked much better as the fight's gone on.
37:08The jab's been effective.
37:09We saw that on the stats.
37:11Who's caught the eye of the judges?
37:15Carl said he may have Alloys Jr. ahead.
37:17I've certainly got any Zorro ahead, but it's what you like maybe.
37:20And also for Zorro here now, he's got to try and win this round, 100%.
37:25But he knows he's in with a puncher.
37:27He hasn't really felt it tonight, maybe.
37:29He got caught early in the fight where he held and recovered quite quickly.
37:34So he knows he can't make a mistake.
37:36And he looks full of energy here, so the concentration's good.
37:38He's super fit.
37:40So he's just got to be sensible.
37:43Still very active with that jab.
37:45Sensible.
37:46Don't make any mistakes.
37:47And make sure you're landing with more punches.
37:49You're throwing more punches than the guy in front of you.
37:52So far, it's quite simple for him.
37:53Yeah, it has been.
37:54I think that hook off the jab as well for Zorro in this final round.
37:59He looked at the parry every jab.
38:01Alloys Jr.
38:02Get that long hook round that right hand.
38:06Keep the movement going.
38:07And you just feel for Alloys Jr.
38:09Can he get that grandstand finish?
38:10Can he land that shot?
38:12Can he get busy?
38:13Can he let the shots go in flurries?
38:15You'd like to have seen him do it far, far earlier than this.
38:20Yeah, a couple of body shots partially landed earlier in the round from Alloys Jr.
38:24Swinging in the left hook.
38:26Where are the combinations?
38:27Can he increase the tempo and finish strongly?
38:31A minute 20 left of this cruiserweight encounter.
38:35And also, he's following Zorro wrong.
38:36But earlier in the contest, he was cutting the ring off.
38:39He was taking his time to do it, but it was working.
38:40I thought he was setting him up for then a real proper full-on assault.
38:46But he hasn't really done that.
38:47And now he's following him around the ring.
38:48And that's allowing Zorro, really, to just get a little bit of a breather.
38:52Regroup and come back with a nice little combination.
38:56Right hand from Alloys Jr. maybe shaving this one.
38:59But it's got to be close on the cards.
39:03This the hors d'oeuvre for the big ones still to come.
39:06Remember, Ryan Garner and Reece Bellotti.
39:09Stay with us on DAZN.
39:12You will enjoy the next fight.
39:15Lovely fate.
39:16That's good work from Alloys Jr. though, right hand.
39:22That's what we were saying. The right hand over the jab.
39:24You see the stats earlier.
39:26He had 42 opportunities to throw that right hand.
39:29And he's thrown it in this final round.
39:32We've seen that far more often in the earlier rounds.
39:35Yeah, I think he might have nicked this one.
39:38So it could be very, very tight.
39:39I'm sure Team Zorro will celebrate.
39:42Be interesting to see what Ben and Barry do in the Alloys Jr. corner.
39:46Who's going to get it?
39:47It's going to come down to the three judges.
39:49Kevin Parker, Victor Lachlan and Mark Bates.
39:53Good fight.
39:55Decent 10 rounder.
39:56Well matched.
39:58Congratulations, Lee Eden and the team from Queensbury.
40:03Neither with any big celebration here.
40:07Tense moments to see who is successful.
40:12And it wasn't a bad fight.
40:14It wasn't frantic, but it was intriguing all the time.
40:17And I think you said well matched.
40:19I think the matchmaking was fantastic there.
40:21It really was.
40:22I think that the more silky skills of Zorro there,
40:25maybe keeping Alloys Jr at bay for most of the part.
40:28But in the early rounds, I think Jr was the more threatening of the two.
40:32And then maybe just, you know, the last one might have nicked it.
40:35They made it a closer fair.
40:38Carl Frampton, who wins?
40:41Draw.
40:43A draw from Carl.
40:44Yeah, a take, Barry take.
40:45Too hard a call.
40:46Barry.
40:47I just got a feeling as I might just nick it, you know.
40:49Yeah, look, five apiece.
40:51I think it could be fair.
40:56I mean, even 6-4 either way, to be honest.
40:58Again, look, it's what you like.
41:01But I'll tell you one thing, Zorro will be extremely proud of himself there.
41:05Come in a big underdog and proved a lot of people wrong there.
41:09He did, definitely.
41:11Most predicted and easy knockout win, really.
41:16And maybe an early one for Alloys Jr.
41:18It was anything but action all the way.
41:23Clarissa Shields is back tonight in Detroit.
41:29The quote, defending an undisputed heavyweight championship
41:33against the New Zealander Lani Daniels,
41:36who chatted to Clarissa the other week,
41:39full of promise that it's going to be a great night.
41:43Alloys Jr. and Ben Davison look pretty comfortable,
41:45relaxed, maybe they think they've got it.
41:48I think Ellis Zorro probably believes he has.
41:54Who is victorious?
41:58For me it's Zorro, for others it might be Alloys Jr.
42:02We're gonna find out Thomas has the cards.
42:04Ladies and gentlemen, after 10 rounds of boxing, we go to the judges' scorecards.
42:17Judge Kevin Parker scores it 96-94.
42:21Judge Victor Loughlin scores it 98-93.
42:24All in favor of your winner by unanimous decision and now the WBC international cruiserweight champion.
42:39Alloys, the animal junior.
42:46Well it was wide on the judges' card by five, by four and by two.
42:51I find that slightly baffling, but Alloys Jr. gets the victory.
42:56It was close, a feel for Ellis Zorro, but he put in a great shift and the look in the corner.
43:03Ben Davison and the team is one of surprise, I think, at the scale of those cards.
43:08But Alloys Jr. gets it unanimously, Barry.
43:12I don't have a problem with him winning the fight.
43:13It was that sort of fight, there was a lot of close wrongs.
43:15But I mean, to say he won it by five rounds is ludicrous, it really is.
43:20I mean, you can't blame the fighter for that, people at home.
43:23It is what it is.
43:24I mean, it was a close fight.
43:25He wins, there's no problem with that.
43:27He moves on, that's fine.
43:28But they were wide cards, I thought.
43:31Yep, congratulations Alloys Jr. got the job done on the cards, Addy, but I feel for Ellis Zorro.
43:38Again, 98-93 by Victor Lachlan there, needs to be spoken about.
43:41And we will speak about that after the main event in Beyond the Bell.
