00:00My piece, my piece, mira, aqui esta bien, right here is still good, you want to touch gloves, do it now, God bless.
00:12Our Coleman event ready to get underway, Ray Corona getting the assignment.
00:17Ten rounds of boxing scheduled for the WBC Continental Americas Featherweight Championship.
00:23The King of LA, Omar Trinidad.
00:26Taking on the supernova, Alexander Espinosa.
00:31TJ DeSantis along with Pearl Gonzalez live inside the Commerce Casino Hotel.
00:37And we are underway.
00:43Trinidad incredibly powerful in what's amazing about his power, you have to worry about it early and late.
00:50He's the guy that can hurt you and put you out in the first round or put you out in the tenth.
00:53Absolutely, he packs power, he likes firefights, he likes to stand right in front of you and bang.
01:00That is his style of fighting, TJ.
01:04He's very composed in fights, but we've seen it where sometimes these fights get gritty, grimy and dirty.
01:08He's almost more comfortable in some of those fights.
01:10He doesn't mind talking, he'll talk with words, but he'll also talk with his hands.
01:15Absolutely, and he is on the prowl right now.
01:19He is pressing forward, has the champion on the ropes, but the King of LA landed a beautiful uppercut just a moment ago.
01:34Talking to Trinidad, he said there was a punch that he had in mind.
01:37He wouldn't let it be known what that punch exactly was, but you have to worry about a variety of weapons from the King of LA.
01:46Absolutely, he said, you know, you asked him about the pressure of this fight, and he says he does have pressure and he absolutely loves it.
01:54The more pressure, the more that's at stake, the better he performs.
01:59And he's already wearing this fight, if you look on the right side of his face, the power of Alexander Espinosa is showcasing now.
02:09Halfway through this opening round, Espinosa very game, he's never been in a position quite like this one, but so far so good.
02:20Doing his job as a challenger.
02:23We talk about that pressure, Omar still very much finding himself as a professional boxer, but he has to do so with a championship wrapped around his waist.
02:33Every fight is a pressure-packed fight for the King of LA.
02:36Absolutely, and you know, he rises to the occasion.
02:39He's won every contest in front of him thus far, he's fought through adversity, and you know, he's getting better.
02:45His positioning to me is always so impressive, the way that he positions himself around the body and finds a way.
02:52Once he starts to unload himself, you know, he's getting better and better and better.
02:56Once he starts to unload himself, you know, he's getting better.
03:00His positioning to me is always so impressive, the way that he positions himself around the body and finds a way.
03:07Once he starts to unload himself, you know, he's getting better and better and better and better, his positioning to me is always so impressive, the way that he positions himself around the body and finds a way.
03:08Once he starts to unload himself, you know, he's getting better and better and better and better and better, his positioning to me is always so impressive, the way that he positions himself around the body and finds a way.
03:09Once he starts to unload himself, you know, he's getting better and better and better and better and better, his positioning to me is always so impressive, the way that he positions himself around the body and finds a way.
03:10Once he starts to unload himself, you know, he's getting better and better and better and better, his positioning to me is always so impressive, the way that he positions himself around the body and finds a way.
03:40We've seen him shine here in this ring.

03:44Right now, featherweight shining in our co-main event.
03:46Right now, featherweight shining in our co-main event.
03:48Pearl, your thoughts on what we saw in our opening round?
03:50Pearl, your thoughts on what we saw in our opening round?
03:52I think that Alexander Espinosa came out done blazing and caught, was able to catch and land some good shots on the champion.
03:54I think that Alexander Espinosa came out done blazing and caught, was able to catch and land some good shots on the champion.
03:56But the champion started to find a way to get out of his comfort zone.
03:58But the champion started to find a way to get out of his comfort zone.
04:00But the champion started to find a way to get out of his comfort zone.
04:02But the champion started to find a way to get out of his comfort zone.
04:10He's trying to do stride, especially at the end of that first round there.
04:12He's trying to do stride, especially at the end of that first round there.
04:14And really starting to land some shots of his own.
04:16And really starting to land some shots of his own.
04:18He did a great job of going to the body and digging downstairs,
04:20He did a great job of going to the body and digging downstairs,
04:22chopping that tree down, which is great work when you've got a heavy hitter in front of you.
04:24chopping that tree down, which is great work when you've got a heavy hitter in front of you.
04:26Yeah, really not much of a feeling out process as we saw a shot of both men in the corners.
04:28Yeah, really not much of a feeling out process as we saw a shot of both men in the corners.
04:30They're both wearing it a little bit on the face.
04:32Yes, they're here to fight, TJ.
04:34They're here to watch fights, Pearl, so it works out.
04:36They're here to watch fights, Pearl, so it works out.
04:38Round 2 underway, again scheduled for 10.
04:40WBC Continental Americas featherweight title on the line.
04:42WBC Continental Americas featherweight title on the line.
04:44The champion Omar Trinidad, and the challenger Alexander Espinoza.
04:46The champion Omar Trinidad, and the challenger Alexander Espinoza.
04:56Trinidad talked to us about, in the beginning of his career,
04:58Trinidad talked to us about, in the beginning of his career,
05:00and throughout his career, he had a tough time disciplining himself with his emotions
05:02himself with his emotions and keeping his emotions in check he said he had to
05:06go back to the drawing board and work on himself he acknowledges his feelings
05:10today he knows what he feels he accepts the feelings they're real he's human and
05:14and through that he can get stronger and and more you know in this fight as it
05:21goes on because he's friends with his feelings is what he said he's also
05:25friends with that right hand that rocked the jaw of Espinosa
05:30now Espinosa trying to put the champion on the ropes
05:37he's doing a good job of putting a ton of pressure on the champion right now and
05:41enforcing him to fight on these ropes we talked again about that pressure it's
05:48pressure I think though that Trinidad is comfortable with because he's still very
05:51dangerous he knows that but Espinosa trying to test the game
05:56these two are fighting hard right now against each other both trying to land
06:01big power shots going toe-to-toe
06:07shot to the body there by the challenger Trinidad finds one of his own
06:15you talk about emotion sometimes they can get a fighter off their game plan
06:23but sometimes emotions can really motivate them to you know pick it up to
06:27another level he talked about his inspiration Mike Tyson and how Mike
06:33Tyson really honed his emotions and he's really you know brought that into his
06:38own game and his own training the ability to feel those emotions and as
06:43soon as he steps in the ring they're going you know if nothing else matters
06:47but the moment action right in front of us here
06:54Trinidad adjusting here and really maintaining and establishing his range
07:00starting to work his way around this ring not allow for Espinosa to just come
07:04forward on him final 30 seconds here in round number two a nice right hand by
07:12the challenger uppercut finds a home
07:16nice combination there by the king of LA
07:20Oh
07:40solid fight here early on in our Colby event champion back to his corner take a
07:46look at some of the action for a walk through this was all king of LA here
07:50just really utilizing working his power trying to land a big shot on Alexander
07:56Espinosa pressing him to the to the rope there and being creative and crafty with
08:02his shots there he is the knockout king from Sacramento California Cain
08:06Sandoval another gentleman who's owned this 360 promotions Hollywood fight
08:13can't wait to see him back in action he's taking it in tonight here inside
08:19the Commerce Casino around three on deck very even matchup here the champion he's
08:25got a game challenger in front of him tonight your thoughts here
08:29I'd like to see Omar get on and start utilizing the position he has fantastic
08:34movement he works so well around the body and positions himself I'd like to
08:38see him utilize that instead of going head for head with this challenger in
08:42just trading
08:46round three underway utilizing that jab here early is the king of LA
09:00the crowd coming alive here for Omar Trinidad
09:13really establishing that jab here in this third round
09:26I've always wondered what they're saying
09:42watching our Komen event unfold the king of LA Omar Trinidad trying to put it on the challenger right now
09:54beautiful combination here from Omar Trinidad
10:01Espinosa weathering the storm Trinidad turning up the fire
10:12halfway through the third
10:23champion here in business Espinoza in survival mode touch over a minute
10:28remains here in this third round
10:32really turning up the pressure is the champ
10:40now Espinosa able to fight his way off the ropes Trinidad now forced into the
10:46ropes
10:53beautiful body shot there by Trinidad
10:57Espinosa eating shots to the body and the head
11:06absolutely an uppercut that we've seen earned some
11:11knockouts already on the record at one Omar Trinidad
11:17still trying to fight through this though as the challenger
11:26one phase by those shots still coming forward
11:30right in the kitchen in the heat it's hot
11:36Espinosa on the back foot to end the round what a performance there turned in on the champion
11:43the king of LA Omar Trinidad dancing feeling pretty good enjoying the night thus far is the king of LA
11:52and his subject here inside the commerce casino they're loving it as well speaking of kings we've
11:58got one here in the booth Callum Walsh back in action coming up next month but a fan tonight
12:04let's take a look at this here Pearl before we talk to Callum Walsh Omar Trinidad really turned
12:08up the heat oh my goodness landing huge shots here coming under the guard around the guard
12:14through the guard I mean he's landing with bad intentions right now he's certainly trying to put
12:20a stamp on this fight tonight if anyone was qualified to sort of look at the king of LA's
12:26performance and critique it it's one Callum Walsh you're a king in your own right your thoughts on
12:30how Omar's looking yeah Omar's very good you know that's where he's the best when he's hanging
12:35on the ropes and they're throwing a big shot and he's always able to land that one knuckle punch
12:39from there you know so I like to watch Omar fight you know he's very entertaining he brings a big
12:43crowd with him and he shows up to fight definitely absolutely I think Omar is a lot like yourself
12:48Callum when he's having fun he's the most dangerous yeah absolutely you know he's he
12:52enjoys he enjoys the fight when it gets tough he gets even better you know I think he needs that
12:57he needs like tough fights to bring out the best in the man he's looking very good here today
13:01absolutely you mentioned the fan base for Trinidad as well you know when it's an Omar Trinidad fight
13:06night it's uh standing room only here inside the Commerce Hotel and Casino absolutely they bring
13:11posters they bring pictures of everything it's crazy it's amazing
13:16and he's looking pretty good here for all to start this fourth round yes he is on fire right now
13:23beautiful right hand there has Alexander in the in the corner
13:31countering him doing a great job timing and Espinosa is very dangerous he's only been
13:36stopped one time in his career and while Trinidad is definitely getting aggressive
13:41Callum you can say it's a controlled aggression by the champ yeah definitely you know I think
13:44he's always looking for that one shot you know that's where he's his best you know when they're
13:48when he's sitting on the ropes and they unload you know he finds the perfect shot on the chamber
13:52or to the body it's mostly that that uppercut that he chose you know so I'll be looking forward
13:57to seeing if he lands it here and Espinosa while he's been wearing some of the offense
14:02of Trinidad still marching forward halfway through this fourth round
14:10beautiful right hand to the body by Trinidad
14:31credit to the challenger for absorbing it
14:35no no stop stop stop
14:40Callum you're back in action next month at Chumash you take on Elias Espadas we saw him
14:44shine here in this ring just about a month ago you excited for this fight
14:48yeah I'm very excited you know it's uh he had a good fight here a couple of weeks ago
14:51um against a tough opponent you know so it's a good opportunity for me to get in there and
14:56get the job done and make a statement you know prove that I'm on another level so uh
15:02come send me to finish the job normally when we talk to you you're like I don't know who I'm
15:06fighting but you uh you know this guy he's been here before and we'll see what happens again
15:11June 21st Chumash Casino Resort up with the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley
15:19oh my goodness that left hand jacks the jaw of Alexander Espinosa
15:24oh
15:26short time here 10 seconds remain in this fourth round
15:30I don't know too many that can eat that shot and stay upright but credit to Espinosa for doing so
15:37he's trying to fire back too as the challenger oh my maybe one after the bell a little bit
15:44oh they're having fun tonight
15:46absolutely what a fight it's been Espinosa has taken some really hard shots but he continues
15:52to keep fighting and Omar Trinidad he continued to keep fighting as well let's take a look at the
15:58end here maybe one or two after the bell maybe it's subjective
16:04I mean they're having fun they're so passionate in the moment
16:07Ray Corona the referee only put his hand in there he didn't put his body in there
16:12to separate the two and maybe for good reason because he might have eaten one as well
16:19looking at Trinidad you know like yourself Callum he's really trying to come into his own in this
16:24360 ring and what do you uh take away from his performance and evolution thus far I mean he's
16:30proving to be a top shelf ranked commodity here in boxing yeah definitely you know he definitely
16:34has what it takes it's very tough you can see it deals with the pressure very well you take shots
16:38well you know he never really gets hurt and he always gets the job done that's the main thing
16:43you know anybody can be a top competitor as long as you get the job done you know no matter how
16:48you look as long as you're winning fights and he does it very well he gets knockouts so yeah he
16:52definitely has what it takes and like yourself I think he's a gentleman who just loves the fight
16:56game he loves fight night absolutely you know that's what it's all about you know if you don't
17:00like the fight you're in the wrong sport you know this is this is your job this is what you have to
17:04do you know and uh that's the best part when you put in all the hard work in the gym you know I
17:07hate to train I hate hate every single day you know I wake up early I go to the gym it's like
17:12not ideal you know it's not really what I want to do but you know that you enjoy the fight and then
17:17you obviously get paid for it and it's worth it
17:24Omar talked to us about how he gets stronger as the fight goes on and he is very aware of that has
17:30a lot of confidence knowing that regardless of what happens early on he will get stronger
17:35as this fight continues I think I think he does that because um you can see his opponent is wearing
17:42you know he builds off that you know when when they're getting tired I think that's what he
17:46lives for that's what that's the fight that he likes as you can see you know he's starting to
17:49breathe heavy and Omar is putting on more and more I think that's that's what he really enjoys
17:53and it's got to be discouraging for a challenger to be able to do that you know he's he's he's
17:58been discouraging for a challenger like Espinosa you know you're taking these tough punishing shots
18:04from the champion and yet he's still getting stronger and you know that as hard as he hit in
18:08the first round he's probably going to hit just as hard in the 10th yeah definitely you know it's
18:11actually a funny thing you know we could both be so tired but when you see the other person
18:16more tired than you it kind of gives you that a bit more energy you know to push on a bit so I
18:21think that that's what Omar is doing. He said you have to break some to win some it's a mental
18:28warfare in here and he does he's willing to take shots and to take damage
18:33to get the results that he's looking for or fighting for.
18:41Oh taking to the body is the champion. Omar doing a good job here with his back against the ropes.
18:5145 seconds remain here in this fifth round again scheduled for 10.
19:02So guillotine action in there you know we're on fight pass after all.
19:07Oh nice right hand from the challenger.
19:13Omar's talking to him now.
19:21Oh nice able to get off the ropes land a hard shot as Omar Trinidad.
19:29Final 10 seconds here in the fifth.
19:33Oh beautiful uppercut.
19:43Halfway through this fight.
19:46A look at the king of LA Omar Trinidad in his corner.
19:56Espinoza we're seeing his durability on display. He's a guy that's not going to go away
20:01easily. For all your thoughts on the output of Trinidad anything you'd like to see
20:07change as we enter the second half of the fight? I'd like to see him move and utilize the ring a
20:11little bit more. I know he likes to fight on the ropes but he has such beautiful movement and
20:16positioning and I really think that he can kind of corral and put Alexander wherever he wants
20:23with his movement and his positioning and get really creative with his shots. Right now he's
20:28fighting fire with fire and they're head-to-head and they're trading. It doesn't have to be that
20:35you know the entire fight he can make some adjustments and switch it up a little bit.
20:42Sixth round about to get underway. Our co-main event
20:46the defending champion Omar Trinidad taking on Alexander Espinoza. TJ DeSantis along with
20:51Pharrell Gonzalez. The king Callum Walsh kind enough to stop by our commentary booth for this one.
21:00I like when he resets his range.
21:05Big shots off of that post.
21:11Espinoza, Callum proving to be tough and not going away without a fight. We've seen that
21:16uppercut time and time again by Trinidad. Anything else you'd like to see him throw
21:19the way of the challenger? I'd like to see him double up on the same side you know body head.
21:25I think he throws it out of like one big shot you know instead of just touch the body and then go
21:30to the head. Make him drop the hand a small bit. Just set it up a bit like that.
21:46Rey Corona going to separate him off the ropes. Espinoza being tricky there grabbing onto the
21:52ropes. Nice left hand there by the champion.
22:06Trying to tie up on the inside is Espinoza.
22:17Just past the halfway point of the sixth round.
22:22There's that movement, that beautiful movement from the champion.
22:28Oh nice combination there by the king of LA. That's nice speed.
22:35When he lets his hands go it looks like he's hitting a double end.
22:38It's so beautiful to watch him when he when he puts his combinations together.
22:45Because a lot of times you just see him loading up for that one.
22:47When he lets him go he's quick. Digging right hand to the body by Trinidad.
22:58Big deep breath by the challenger.
23:08Espinoza trying to come forward.
23:09See he's slick. He wraps up on the ropes. He'll grab onto the ropes to hold Trinidad.
23:18And it's just doing a good job of utilizing the ropes. I don't think it's legal.
23:25I mean it's only illegal if the referee says stop doing that.
23:30But it's forcing the champ to utilize more energy than necessary.
23:36And I think Espinoza is doing that because he's forced to.
23:44There's been times he's had to go into survival mode and
23:49be surviving and weathering a very tough storm that is being turned in by Omar Trinidad.
23:55Our co-main event underway here inside the Commerce Casino and Hotel.
24:09TJ DeSantis along with the King Cal Walsh, Pearl Gonzalez.
24:14Been a fun night of fights. There we go. I don't know where the camera is. There it is right there.
24:18Hi. TJ DeSantis, Pearl Gonzalez, King Cal Walsh back in action coming up June 21st.
24:24And here we are in the middle of our co-main event. We still got a phenomenal main event
24:28headed everyone's way here live on UFC Fight Pass. But now into the back half of this fight,
24:32round number seven. There it is. Cal Walsh returns to take on Elias Espadas to finish the job as you
24:39said, Cal Walsh. I mean Espadas is a very tough opponent. We saw that in his last fight. But
24:45we'll see what happens when you guys go to war coming up next month. Back to war are these two
24:50gentlemen. We'll see. I haven't even watched his last fight. Not yet. It's available for you now
25:01right now on UFC Fight Pass. I need to get a membership. I got you. I know I got you. I know I
25:07got you. Nice jabs here coming from the champ. And Espinosa, I mean he's biting out of the mouthpiece
25:16and grinding through this one. He is. I mean he's got one speed and he's just forward, all forward.
25:26But he crowds his range a lot, you know, so he's not able to really let his hands go and land
25:32anything. And Omar is keen to it. One minute down here in the seventh round.
25:46A little Conor McGregor in there from Omar and Trinidad.
26:02Backing up to the ropes here. Look at the difference in the forward pressure from the
26:08champion. He's maintaining his range. He's not grappling and wrapping up with Espinosa.
26:14And Espinosa just completely crowds his range. Very aware on Omar. Because he doesn't really
26:22have an answer for what Omar owes. Trying to answer there to the challenger.
26:27A lot of clinch here from Espinosa. Two minutes down here in the seventh.
26:46And Omar talked about, you know, the significance of the belt and the hardware and he said,
26:53you know, what's most important to me is that my family is taken care of, that
26:57we are financially stable. And he's like, through this, you know, I realize I do like hardware. I do
27:01like a shiny, you know, the shiny hardware in my living room. But rest assured his focus is
27:08setting his family up. That is his drive. That is his purpose here.
27:14Is to take care of his family through his career. Absolutely. I mean, combat sports,
27:18Callum, you can speak to it. It can change your life up in a hurry.
27:22I suppose a belt is no good if you don't have a living room. It's nice in there,
27:25but if you didn't have a living room, I mean, I know a certain WBC continental America's
27:31champion that might be sitting in the booth right now that mowed the lawn
27:34with his belt wrapped around his waist. Somebody has to do it. You get the belt,
27:39but the job still has to be done. Absolutely.
27:46Nice way to end the round for Omar Trinidad, who walks back to his corner with a smile on his face.
27:53Fighting in front of his hometown tonight here inside the Commerce Casino. You did that last
27:57year fighting in Ireland. It was a big year for you. You kicked off this year with a pretty big
28:02win at Madison Square Garden. Talk about that for a little bit, Callum. I mean, that was probably
28:07the most impressive night of your career, I think, the way you dispatched a very tough team.
28:12Yeah, definitely. I feel like I'm getting stronger every single day. I'm getting older,
28:1624, and I'm getting my man strength. I feel like every time I hit somebody, I'm feeling
28:25stronger. I feel at the end of my punches. I think I can knock anybody out, anybody in the world.
28:31Yeah, we'll see it again in my next fight. I'm continuing to get stronger every single day,
28:36and I'm looking forward to trying to knock this guy out. When do you turn 25?
28:42February. February. I got to tell February to say I can do something that Callum Walsh
28:46can't, and that's rent a car. Oh, yeah, I can't even rent a car. You can't rent a car yet. I got
28:50that over you. That's crazy. It's the little things in life, Callum, that hold on to. Round
28:55eight underway of our co-main event. Omar Trinidad defending his title against Alexander Espinoza.
29:01Big right hand for the champion. The champion wanted to give a big shout out to Aguas Calientes,
29:05Mexico, his parents' hometown, and to Boyle Heights. He truly desires to inspire someone
29:13from Boyle Heights. He says that would make all of this work so worth it if he hears someone from
29:19his hometown is inspired by his work. Absolutely. You talked about trying to set up his family,
29:27and he said he really holds on to that. Yes, there's a lot for him to still gain in boxing,
29:30but he feels like he's fighting as challengers like Alexander Espinoza are trying to take
29:34something away from him, and he's motivated by that. Right hand to the body by the champion.
29:44Callum, are we starting to see the demeanor of the challenger change a bit here?
29:50Yeah, I think so. I think he's slowing down a lot. He's just hanging in there.
29:55He's just hanging in there. You can see it, but he's still trying. You know,
29:58everybody's dangerous at this stage. You can still land that one big shot. You need to be
30:00careful. I think Omar's taking over. You talk about that power of Trinidad. It's
30:10dangerous early. It's dangerous late.
30:21Going to the body is the champion. Now I'd like to see him double up body head.
30:30Trinidad talking.
30:40Two minutes down here in the eighth.
30:56Calculated here is Trinidad trying to make sure there's an opening before he unleashes a fury.
31:01Yes, he's doing a beautiful job with his movement.
31:04I mean, that's the thing about Trinidad. He likes these type of fights, and
31:19he's comfortable. You can see his character coming out,
31:22not only from his offense, but enjoying the moment.
31:28Final 15 seconds of round number eight. He talked about when he's in there,
31:32as soon as he steps in the ring, he's a god. That's what he said.
31:46Eight down, two to go here in our culmination. WBC continental America's featherweight title
31:52on the line.
32:07He's been doing enough to weather this storm, but it hasn't done enough to
32:11really convincingly take a round. We'll see what he can do, but
32:15he's got a lot of experience, and he's going to try to lean on that
32:19here in this fight. He's got to make something happen, Calum, here in these final two rounds.
32:22Yeah, he has a wonderful round. I would give him one round. He's just there. He
32:28threw some good, he landed some good shots, but he's just there. He's just like,
32:32he's just hanging in there. Tell us how you really feel, Calum Ross.
32:37I'm honest, I'm the worst commentator ever. No, I think it makes you the best commentator ever.
32:43I remember one time, Pearl, you sat down to call an MMA fight with me.
32:4730 seconds in, the fight was over. It's like, hi, Calum. Bye, Calum.
32:53Round nine underway.
32:57The champion pulls inspiration, he said, from the people in Boyle Heights,
33:01the hard-working people, the single moms, the factory workers. That too inspires him to work
33:07this hard. Utilizing some head pressure here, as Espinosa is pressed up against the ropes.
33:26There's some accommodation there by the challenger still in this one.
33:29Omar doing a good job of moving and rolling with the punches, though, not really taking much damage.
33:39You mentioned it, Calum, you know, probably not a lot of scorecards leading the way
33:43of Alexander Espinosa. When does he go for broke? Now.
33:51The honest commentary of the King Calum Wall.
33:59At this stage, you just have to start swinging. If you get knocked out,
34:02your last nine rounds in there, you know what I mean? Just go for it.
34:07Same question, I guess, can be asked for you, Calum. What about Trinidad? Is there
34:12a time where he turns it up and really tries to get him out of here?
34:14Come on, work, guys, work. Yeah, he could, or he could just win a nice, comfortable fight,
34:18you know, but if it was me, I'd try to turn it up a bit here. You can see that he's tired.
34:24He's looking for that uppercut. He's looking for a one shot, though. That's what he's looking for.
34:28He's good here, though. He is able to land that shot off the ropes. Yeah, we saw that in the
34:33Victor Slavinsky fight, dropped him in the ninth with an uppercut, came back and finished it in the 10th.
34:45And that's the thing, too. I think you look at Omar Trinidad. Yes, he's defending his title. Yes,
34:49he's the established WBC Continental America champion. But
34:53ring time is important for a fighter, an athlete like himself on the come up.
35:08Oh, beautiful uppercut there by Trinidad.
35:20Oh, my goodness.
35:26Trinidad pushes him away.
35:30Final 15 seconds here in the ninth.
35:32Oh, my God.
35:46Nine down, one to go.
35:50We talk about whether or not Trinidad should turn it up and try to get it finished. I think he's
35:56fighting a smart fight because I mean, you can speak to this. He's got an uppercut. He knows
36:01he can land it. He doesn't have to force it. Yeah, definitely. Well, I think he hangs back on
36:05the ropes here to land that one shot. He's very good there. His timing is good. He'll take one to
36:11land one. And usually if he lands the right one, they go down. I think it's a good game plan. He
36:17doesn't really have to force it too much. Just sit back in the ropes, let them gain a bit of
36:21confidence and land that one, get the highlight reel. And either way, he's going to win the fight.
36:31Omar Trinidad defending his title for the fifth time tonight.
36:36Looking good as he does. What do you expect in the tenth and final round?
36:39I think that he's going to come out here, continue to try to land that big uppercut.
36:43You know, he's having fun. At the end of the day, he's aware he's present. He's
36:47looking at the crowd. He's looking at us. He knows where he's at at all times in this fight.
36:54He's having fun. And he's got a tough guy in there. Very durable
36:58fighter is Alexander Espinosa. He's only been finished one time in his career.
37:13Nice right hand from the champ.
37:17You can tell he's certainly trying to time him, Espinosa, as he's coming in.
37:21Beautiful in and out work here from Omar Trinidad.
37:32On that jab is the champion.
37:38Loads up on the right hand.
37:51Again, loading up on that right hand is the champion.
38:02I mean, he's landing big shots. Espinosa is eating those shots.
38:07Nice punches here by Trinidad.
38:16Really digging in with some shots here of Trinidad.
38:22And again, the pop on these punches, pretty much one for one what he was throwing in the first round.
38:40Espinosa is just eating his punches. I don't know how he's unfazed by any of these shots.
38:48Yeah, it's a backhanded compliment to discredit the durability,
38:52but that is what has been on display by Espinosa.
38:56Just 50 seconds left here in the fight. Espinosa coming forward. He's still trying.
39:02He's coming forward, but he's not really throwing any punches.
39:10It's hard to get a knockout at this stage of the fight. You know, you've taken so many shots
39:14you're kind of used to it. The best way to get a knock on the nose is to rip the body.
39:22Now inside the final 30 seconds.
39:29Trinidad looking for it.
39:30Oh, beautiful display of skill, grit, power.
39:47Getting wild to end it. Both men earned one another's respect.
39:52And we got to see a show. Omar Trinidad unable to get the knockout tonight,
39:57but we got to see all facets of his game. And Callum, I think we got to see it again on display,
40:03just the love and passion for the game that is possessed by the King of LA and Omar Trinidad.
40:08Yeah, definitely. You know, he fought 10 rounds and he was having fun.
40:11You know, even in the last round he was still there. He didn't look tired or anything.
40:14He got the job done.
40:20Judges going to tally their 10s and 9s. And we talk about the progression of Omar Trinidad.
40:25That's important for fighters. I mean, you got it done in one round, but we've seen you take
40:29opponents later in the fight. That's important for a fighter because as you continue to rise the
40:33ranks, you need to be able to know what you're made of in the later rounds. Yeah, definitely.
40:38You know, uh, I seen a quote recently where they say it was like, um, the real you comes out when
40:43you're exhausted. You know what I mean? You see who you are when you're, when you're exhausted.
40:47And, uh, I think we've seen the real Omar Trinidad tonight.
40:50Absolutely. 10 rounds of boxing in the books. Judges telling their 10s and 9s.
40:57We firmly believe it's a decision that belongs to the King of LA.
41:04Playing to his crowd here inside the Commerce Hotel and Casino. Standing room only tonight
41:09for Hollywood Fight Nights. They came out to see the Trinidad show and a show it was.
41:14Cal Walsh. We're going to see you put on a show again. Chumash Casino Resort. You take on Elias
41:18has bought us. How's, uh, how's everything going in camp thus far?
41:22That's going very good. You know, it's same as every camp. I just train as hard as I can
41:26and prepare for the best I can be. And it doesn't matter who I play on the night. You know what I
41:30mean? As long as I'm prepared for the best I can be, my opponent could change five minutes before,
41:36you know, and I, I, I still get the job done. You know, once I'm the best I can be, I beat
41:41I still get the job done. You know, once I'm the best I can be, I beat anybody on any given night.
41:46Yeah. Sometimes I don't know if you know the name five minutes before, but I know, honestly,
41:50I don't think you care about the name five minutes before. I don't care. You know, I know deep down
41:56once I prepare and I'm ready, I can beat anybody and also it doesn't really matter.
42:02Again, Cal Walsh back in action, June 21st, Chumash Casino Resort. If you can't be there,
42:07of course you can join us live and exclusive on UFC Fight Pass. There it is. Cal Walsh against
42:15Elias Espadas. Cal, appreciate you stopping by and enjoy the rest of the night. Yeah,
42:20no problem. I'm, I'm retiring from, from combat. No, you can't do that. You can't do that. All
42:25right. The judges have tallied their tens and nines to make this one official. We go to Matt Marino.
42:37We go to the judges scorecards for decision. The judges render the contest 98, 92,
42:4599, 91, and 190. Declaring the winner by unanimous decision and still the WBC
42:59Dutch National America's featherweight champion, Omar Trinidad.
43:09Now undefeated in 20 fights, Omar Trinidad gets the job done as he successfully defends his title
43:16for the fifth time. Nice sign of sportsmanship as he takes a photo with the challenger.
43:23And now we await his challenge.
