01:07to see her do i want to see her on her feet using her legs because uh in 2003 she was down in the
01:13fifth round and down in the eighth round and uh she stood in the pocket so much she tried to brawl
01:18and i want to see her go back to boxing because furtado could be dangerous she's much um slower on
01:23it with her hands and her feet but could be dangerous no matter what ram nali's last fight
01:28was a loss to yamalith murkato who we're going to see open the big show challenging ellie scotney
01:33and yamalith murkato has probably been one of the most it's hard to get any attention
01:38with so many of the world's elite fighters on this one night but yamalith murkato might be the one that
01:42people are sort of overlooking yeah and ali that that loss was her last fight so she's got extra
01:48motivation not just being on this undercard but trying to get back in the wing we saw earlier the
01:57impressive performance a knockout delivered by tam tebow on a night that out of the blue a huge
02:03performance bonus was thrown in it's interesting to me you're not seeing as many knockouts obviously in
02:08women's boxing of lighter you know smaller weight classes to begin with how much of that gets in
02:13your head if you're not ram nali is not a knockout fighter per se but you wanted you're on the stage
02:18you want to be noticed and then jake's dangling that back yeah you can't worry about that bag
02:23because if you lose trying to get that back you may never see another bag so you got to be yourself
02:28no matter what happens no matter what happens through round one

03:56have patience and take your time you know sometimes when you experience a loss or every
04:02time a loss or a knockout how would you know it's either how would you how would you know very young
04:07and i never wanted to taste that feeling again so and that's what drove the winning streak but when
04:12that happens you know you're either going to get better or you're going to get worse and
04:17i see ali's defense a lot better good shot right there that stun for tato
04:23not being called the knockdown might it should have been because i think the great fish so too

05:28this will be interesting to see if that should have been a knockdown early here in round two
05:43ramlali was doing some good work early in this fight she did a nice flick right hand that's when
05:48you flick the the left hand in the face of the opponent and you land you blind them with the
05:53right hand and it landed right there on the chin of fortata and let's see if the glove touched it
05:58doesn't look like it did based on the first replay so that was a good good eye and a good call by the
06:04referee let's see right here yeah the glove did not touch right this is as close as you're ever going to
06:09get without getting it that was like john mclean and die hard hanging from a building but he never
06:16and she never went down and these fights which are so close obviously in these rounds the 10-9 and
06:2210-8 makes all the difference can you hear me wake up come on you can do this this is your this is your
06:29life fight for your life fight for your life do not adjust your device that is the translation of
06:35the portuguese from the corner of frutato strong left jab from ali to come out to begin the round
06:43the point i'm trying to make is that ali looks a lot better than she did a year ago a few years ago
06:48when she got caught with those shots and got knocked out you see her thinking more a little bit
06:53more patient and a lot more polished her family not only had to fight for survival when they moved
07:04to the uk but she had to fight to be allowed to box and her family was not overly enthusiastic about
07:11the idea that is a story sinisa that is a common thread throughout a lot of this work neither were my
07:18parents and um how to prove them wrong it's like that knockdown woke frutata up she is alive and well
07:27and she's punching and right now she's getting the better of these exchanges with ali
07:34that's definitely where frutato is best is fighting on the inside and just moving forward she
07:38she did a good job as andre said moving away when she was hurt but she's going to continue to do what
07:45she does best and that's going forward to the pressure presence of mind to frutato to be able
07:50to get her balance back and not put the glove down who knows 15 minutes from now we may be talking
07:56about that as the difference in this fight now ali is forced to make another adjustment because she's
08:06not allowed to box and think like she was in the first two rounds because frutato is putting so much
08:11pressure on her so this is the beautiful thing about fighting and boxing is you get to see ebbs and
08:16flows and different game plans unfold in real time that is how she was beaten by yameli procato who is
08:21a great pressure fighter as ellie scott he's going to find out at eight o'clock on netflix

10:40game unfortunately getting hurt is going to make you press forward or shrink back and you know
10:48lose yourself and she's not doing that you see the the heart of a champion you see that heart of a

11:15for some fighters sometimes it's hard to go back to boxing and using your jab and uh she's falling into
11:21what frutato wants her to do she's got to go back to that jab yeah she has drawn her into a telephone
11:27boot fight that is exactly where linda frutato wants to be and she has to fight back where she wants it

12:28i keep an eye on the distance here see if rama ali can regain that comfortable distance she had
12:44in the second round rama ali's corner told her to touch with that yeah touch the glove with that job
12:53to blind her and land that straight left as she did the beginning of the fight

14:06shots she's only thrown about two or three body shots but they've all landed and it's made for
14:11a title stop and think for just a second sometimes you do one thing even by accident in a fight and
14:18it unlocks something and it could change the course of a fight
14:24what makes you going what makes you go away from doing what you have been training for months to do
14:28because you have somebody charging at you trying to knock you out and you don't have a lot of time
14:32to think the heavy bag doesn't hit back lila great that was amazing this is gonna get even better
14:53stay close stay close and work on her body
14:55you go ahead and you punch her do not go back stay very close to her
15:09if you're close to her you can really you can really
15:16from our lips to another lips to another set of lips
15:25one thing boxing is known for it's tidiness
15:48so now it is starting to become a problem here the math is becoming a problem for rambali because
16:00she has likely lost four of these first five rounds
16:06and in the second half of the fight she wants to show how much she wants to win but she has to do
16:12with the right way the smart way and that's by using that jab and moving not staying on the inside like
16:16this this shot right there i think she landed that by accident but it did land
16:23more blood from the nose of frittato that was a problem earlier in the fight
16:31i love what ali's corner said to her just as she got off the school he said remember who you are
16:35you not only forget game plan sometimes but you can forget that you belong here and who you are and
16:40you need to be reminded of that in the corner sometimes we remind you of where we are headed at
16:45eight o'clock eastern time on netflix ultimate conclusion katie taylor and amanda serrano the
16:52trilogy fight here at madison square garden we got a lot of fun to get to between now and then
16:59i don't know how much time linda frittato has spent on the subway during her few days in new york but
17:05that would have been good training for the way she wants to fight and it has worked to perfection
17:20yeah this is frittato's style this is where she wants to be on the inside going forward
17:25it's up to ram lali to make that adjustment and make a change
17:30and it seems to me guys ram lali is initiating these clinches she's stepping forward into the
17:35man that doesn't seem to benefit her in any way i think she's just trying to stop the hard charging
17:41for just a moment just so she can breathe and she can think just like you see right there she doesn't
17:46start doing it like that with the jab it's not going to end well through six
18:01at times when i take a step back and bring it up rip it up there she's there to eat
18:04that shot all day yeah okay yeah that's good i'm sorry you're getting tied up in there because
18:14you're throwing the right hand and you're dropping your head what are you dropping your head for
18:17stay nice and stay low but stay high with the right hand that will be able to counter after that
18:23don't let it tie you up in the inside sit down on that right hand as well because it's coming over
18:27the top too much yeah you're not you're not able to work after that so you gotta sit low drive it in
18:31yeah drive it into that chest now then you can move up to your stomach yeah
18:52we head to round number seven
18:54from ali's the corner gave her very good instructions in that round about her right hand
19:02instead of throwing it and whipping it right back she's throwing it and falling in which is causing
19:08her to be able to get tied up with furtado sean willock you see it pretty much the way we do i do
19:13indeed sean 59 55 five rounds to one lila furtado it was a strong round number two for ronali she nearly
19:20had the knockdown but you see it's the smothering pressure of furtado that i believe is winning her
19:24this fight we thought if just joining us in the middle of this fight a great job by lila furtado
19:30to not get knocked down the glove never touched the canvas so we thought at the time if that had
19:35been a 10-9 10-8 round it could have made all the difference but furtado has dominated ever since
19:39yes little things go a long way furtado made one adjustment she said i'm not going to stand
19:44stand here and be on the end of your right hand ever again in this fight and she has it and has
19:49changed the course of this fight she's pressed forward it hasn't been pretty but it's been
19:54effective and ronda making it easy for her to do so by falling in uh when throwing that right hand
20:02that's what i'm saying before about falling into these exactly what she's doing which she's the one
20:06who needs the separation and now has to land and that's one thing that's the most difficult to stay
20:11disciplined about because i've faced a lot of fighters who are very aggressive and and fight just
20:16like furtado but you have to stay sharp your punches have to be sharp you have to bring them right
20:21back and not fall in yeah furtado has fought at the very highest level she's fought beatrice ferrara
20:28legendary amateur fighter and who's gone back and forth from the amateurs and the pros
20:32the poise of lela furtado surviving that near flash knockdown the second round that uppercut got through
20:40yes it did workman-like performance from furtado this would be good stuff
20:58you were winning this
21:08this is the last round volume you just keep punching
21:17like a machine gun up and down five or six punches and keep your hands closed protect your face
21:28strength you're doing amazing
21:36piggy boy can't argue that he's that in any language
21:42this is the final round
21:45punch stats can be misleading sometimes not in this fight
22:00mutato is throwing over a hundred more punches
22:02as a corner just told her to throw like a machine gun and that's exactly what she's coming out doing
22:14six one through seven
22:17ram lali not a finisher not a knockout fighter with her nine and two start
22:24now needs something big here in the final 85 seconds
22:27but even though ali hasn't found the answer that she's needed to turn the course of this fight
22:32that wasn't a knockdown
22:34referee will make her wipe her gloves to make sure there's no dust or anything to get in the eye of ali
22:38but you've never seen ali turn you never saw her stop fighting or quit sometimes a fighter can quit
22:43without actually stopping the fight you don't see that from ali so i respect it she didn't find the
22:48answer she needed but the heart was still there it seems like she just got drawn into furtado's fight
22:55and she was willing to fight it but she couldn't beat her at that fight she couldn't beat her and
22:58that's not her game plan that's not the way she she was going to beat furtado what she did in the
23:02first two rounds the first round and a half she should have kept to that even with furtado changing her
23:08game plan
23:10fighters have to dictate you don't go off of your opponent you dictate how the night is going to be
23:14fight really bad one late
23:24and rama showing massive heart and as i mentioned you can it's easier to teach somebody how to box
23:28and to teach them how to fight and you do not have to teach rama how to fight because
23:31she has that heart and that dog in her
23:41great action in the final round
23:44and ronda ali got drawn into lila furtado's fight and she paid the price
24:01we've already had two fun fights to watch as we had for a fight that could define women's boxing in the decade

26:13And truly, it was not, Andre, the smartest fight that Ram Lali could have fought.
26:20But man, did she fight hard.
26:21A lot of heart, like she's always shown throughout her short career.

26:26But her and her team got to go back if she's going to continue her career.
26:29And they got to figure this out.
26:31Because that was a small adjustment she could have made.
26:33It wasn't anything astronomical.
26:34And you got to figure out why wasn't she able to make that adjustment and stay ahead in this fight like she started.
