00:00Given the ongoing bombardment that we're seeing, the blockade, how would you describe the current state of Gaza's health system?
00:06Are there still any actual functioning hospitals in any meaningful way on the ground there?
00:11Good evening. First of all, actually, I haven't enough words to describe the situation, especially the health situation in Gaza.
00:19Catastrophic, it is not enough. This word, it does not reflect the real situation in Gaza.
00:25The health sector in Gaza is collapsed now, unable to meet with the high number of the casualties and fatalities in Gaza.
00:34You can imagine how the weak and fragile health system in Gaza, which has been suffering for a long time, for a blockade, for more than 17 years,
00:46was able to recover and to receive more than, now we are speaking about more than 60,000 martyrs and more than 143,000 wounded since October 2023.
01:02The Israeli war on Gaza caused serious loss and damage to health personnel and health facilities,
01:10where 120 health facilities, including all the hospitals, all 36 hospitals in Gaza Strip were damaged,
01:20and 180 ambulances were partially or completed damaged.
01:27Less than 30 percent now, less than 30 percent of Gaza hospitals still functioning, but they are functioning partially.
01:36And the remaining of the hospitals and the primary health care centers,
01:40the heart of the surface due to direct damage or indirect Israeli attack or due to the shortage of medicine and supplies.
01:52Now, Gaza hospitals suffering 48 percent of the medicine, essentially drugs, out of stock,
02:01and more than 64 percent of the medical supplies, especially which used in the surgical during the operation and surgical theater,
02:14they are in zero stock.
02:16Shortage also of fuel, also it is one of the challenges.
02:20All of you, as you are known now, the Gaza hospitals depend on the electric generators
02:26due to the continuous cut of the electricity in Gaza Strip.
