This is Daisy Peacock, Chris Hallam, the Sheffield Star and Daisy are performing today?
00:06
Yes, I've just performed.
00:08
Just performed? On what stage?
00:09
The Love Mill stage.
00:10
And how was it?
00:11
It was amazing. Yeah, my favourite show I've ever done. It was amazing.
00:14
Favourite show you've ever done?
00:16
Yeah.
00:17
Okay, and you performed with your band, didn't you?
00:19
Yes.
00:20
So what songs were you performing for us today?
00:22
So we did all my original songs.
00:25
I just write about my life and stuff that happens to me.
00:28
I try and be as honest as possible.
00:30
And yeah, they're great.
00:32
I write them by myself and then we put them all together with the band.
00:36
It was really fun to get to do it.
00:38
And you had your debut single, You Don't Want Me Enough.
00:42
That earned you your first Top 10 spot in both Song Academy's Young Songwriter Competition
00:48
and Citrus Records' Song of the Year list.
00:51
That was amazing.
00:53
Well done.
00:55
I was listening to that one yesterday while I was driving back over to Sheffield.
00:59
So that calmed me amidst all the road rage from all the terrible drivers.
01:04
So basically you stopped me from swearing blood.
01:08
So it's quite calming even though you were talking about pain.
01:12
So you don't want me enough.
01:14
What's it about?
01:16
So I kind of wrote it about like realising that you're in a relationship where like
01:21
your person just isn't really given you enough.
01:24
And you're actually like they're kind of settling.
01:26
And you like either part you should settle.
01:28
I mean I've got a song that's not me settling.
01:30
But this one was kind of meant to be like flipping on this head a little bit.
01:33
But of like realising you know what I don't think we're right for each other.
01:38
But that's okay.
01:39
Yeah.
01:40
Yeah.
01:41
It's okay.
01:42
No.
01:43
But it's a lovely song.
01:44
I recommend you give it a listen.
01:46
Folks if you haven't already.
01:48
So get it on your Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music or buy it and give her the money.
01:52
Everyone loves money.
01:54
Don't you Daisy?
01:55
Bring on the funds.
01:57
And Daisy is a little background.
02:02
Correct me if I'm wrong here.
02:03
Daisy's from Sheffield originally.
02:05
You're Birmingham based now.
02:07
Yeah.
02:08
I'm at uni so I can't have between the two really.
02:10
So you don't talk with a Broomy accent?
02:12
No.
02:13
Do you know what?
02:14
I've not even got the Sheffield accent either.
02:15
I'm just a bit in the middle really.
02:16
It's alright.
02:17
I'm from Sheffield originally.
02:18
I moved down to the Midlands.
02:19
Oh really?
02:20
I came back afflicted with the Midlands accent.
02:21
Did you?
02:22
Yeah.
02:23
I still have it and then I've spent years trying to.
02:26
Undo it.
02:27
Trying to get back to being in Yorkshire.
02:29
So obviously you've done really well with your initial single.
02:34
And you've got four out so far.
02:38
Three.
02:39
You've got Valentine's Day, While It Lasted and Beautiful.
02:44
Yeah, Beautiful is from a long time ago.
02:46
But you know, it's so common.
02:48
It's funny that you wrote a song about me and never met me.
02:50
But it's alright.
02:51
It's fine.
02:52
We move.
02:53
Anyway.
02:54
So, obviously, songs aside.
02:57
You've recently been touring and supporting the likes of...
03:01
I've supported Arthur Jokes last year which was amazing.
03:04
I've got Daydreamers who are actually performing later on today.
03:07
I just saw them when I came off the stage.
03:08
It was fun girling a little bit after today.
03:10
And Danny Mellon who's also performing later on today.
03:14
And Blonde.
03:15
And Blonde.
03:16
Yeah.
03:17
And how's it been so far?
03:18
Yeah, I know.
03:19
So much fun.
03:20
I love getting to support artists because it's so fun to get to play to their fan base.
03:23
And meet them and help new people find my music.
03:28
Yeah.
03:29
I love playing shows.
03:30
It's my favourite part of support artists.
03:33
Cool.
03:34
Yeah.
03:35
Cool.
03:36
And so, obviously, you've been on Oraday from the stage.
03:40
Where can people hear you or see you next?
03:43
Why not festival next weekend which I'm really excited for.
03:46
Oh really?
03:47
And then I'm playing in Nottingham in September the 29th I think.
03:52
Where up?
03:53
The old bus depo.
03:54
Oh okay.
03:55
I've never actually played Nottingham before so I'm really excited for that.
03:57
And then a small Birmingham bunch of people dates to be announced very soon.
04:01
And new music to be announced very soon as well.
04:03
New music?
04:04
Yes.
04:05
When?
04:06
I can't say exactly when yet but it'll all be...
04:11
I did play new songs in my set just then so that was kind of a sweet preview.
04:19
And how's that gone across?
04:20
Yeah, yeah, really good.
04:21
I was really impressed with how many people were there.
04:23
I didn't think because I'm obsessed with opening the stage.
04:25
I didn't think it would be too cool but I was very pleasantly surprised.
04:29
And are you going to be sticking around over the course of this weekend?
04:31
Yeah, absolutely.
04:32
I was here last night so cool which is insane.
04:34
How was?
04:35
Do you enjoy it?
04:36
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
04:37
It was really good.
04:38
I'm looking forward to hopefully see our daydramals here.
04:41
I mean everyone really.
04:42
And we're back tomorrow as well.
04:43
Making the most of it.
04:44
Okay.
04:45
Well, see you around.
04:46
Say hello.
04:47
Yes.
04:49
It's been a pleasure.
04:50
Thank you so much.
04:51
Short but sweet.
04:52
And your second single, Valentine's Day, which blends a unique production and heart-wrenching
04:59
lyrics with a soaring chorus to create an anthem from the universal feeling of unrequited
05:04
love.
05:05
That's who his blank blog said that about that song.
05:08
But yeah, check out Valentine's Day.
05:10
That's a good one as well.
05:12
Throw in your feels.
05:14
Throw in your feels.
05:15
In your feels, yeah.
05:16
In your feels.
05:17
There they are.
05:18
It's all about being in the feels.
05:19
That's the vibe.
05:20
So, yeah.
05:21
Thank you very much.
05:23
From all of us at the Sheffield Star, we wish you the best of luck.
05:25
And the image of her shoes.
05:26
Thank you very much.
05:27
Thank you very much.
05:28
Thank you very much.
05:29
Thank you very much.
