Transcript
00:00This is Daisy Peacock, Chris Hallam, the Sheffield Star and Daisy are performing today?
00:06Yes, I've just performed.
00:08Just performed? On what stage?
00:09The Love Mill stage.
00:10And how was it?
00:11It was amazing. Yeah, my favourite show I've ever done. It was amazing.
00:14Favourite show you've ever done?
00:16Yeah.
00:17Okay, and you performed with your band, didn't you?
00:19Yes.
00:20So what songs were you performing for us today?
00:22So we did all my original songs.
00:25I just write about my life and stuff that happens to me.
00:28I try and be as honest as possible.
00:30And yeah, they're great.
00:32I write them by myself and then we put them all together with the band.
00:36It was really fun to get to do it.
00:38And you had your debut single, You Don't Want Me Enough.
00:42That earned you your first Top 10 spot in both Song Academy's Young Songwriter Competition
00:48and Citrus Records' Song of the Year list.
00:51That was amazing.
00:53Well done.
00:55I was listening to that one yesterday while I was driving back over to Sheffield.
00:59So that calmed me amidst all the road rage from all the terrible drivers.
01:04So basically you stopped me from swearing blood.
01:08So it's quite calming even though you were talking about pain.
01:12So you don't want me enough.
01:14What's it about?
01:16So I kind of wrote it about like realising that you're in a relationship where like
01:21your person just isn't really given you enough.
01:24And you're actually like they're kind of settling.
01:26And you like either part you should settle.
01:28I mean I've got a song that's not me settling.
01:30But this one was kind of meant to be like flipping on this head a little bit.
01:33But of like realising you know what I don't think we're right for each other.
01:38But that's okay.
01:39Yeah.
01:40Yeah.
01:41It's okay.
01:42No.
01:43But it's a lovely song.
01:44I recommend you give it a listen.
01:46Folks if you haven't already.
01:48So get it on your Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music or buy it and give her the money.
01:52Everyone loves money.
01:54Don't you Daisy?
01:55Bring on the funds.
01:57And Daisy is a little background.
02:02Correct me if I'm wrong here.
02:03Daisy's from Sheffield originally.
02:05You're Birmingham based now.
02:07Yeah.
02:08I'm at uni so I can't have between the two really.
02:10So you don't talk with a Broomy accent?
02:12No.
02:13Do you know what?
02:14I've not even got the Sheffield accent either.
02:15I'm just a bit in the middle really.
02:16It's alright.
02:17I'm from Sheffield originally.
02:18I moved down to the Midlands.
02:19Oh really?
02:20I came back afflicted with the Midlands accent.
02:21Did you?
02:22Yeah.
02:23I still have it and then I've spent years trying to.
02:26Undo it.
02:27Trying to get back to being in Yorkshire.
02:29So obviously you've done really well with your initial single.
02:34And you've got four out so far.
02:38Three.
02:39You've got Valentine's Day, While It Lasted and Beautiful.
02:44Yeah, Beautiful is from a long time ago.
02:46But you know, it's so common.
02:48It's funny that you wrote a song about me and never met me.
02:50But it's alright.
02:51It's fine.
02:52We move.
02:53Anyway.
02:54So, obviously, songs aside.
02:57You've recently been touring and supporting the likes of...
03:01I've supported Arthur Jokes last year which was amazing.
03:04I've got Daydreamers who are actually performing later on today.
03:07I just saw them when I came off the stage.
03:08It was fun girling a little bit after today.
03:10And Danny Mellon who's also performing later on today.
03:14And Blonde.
03:15And Blonde.
03:16Yeah.
03:17And how's it been so far?
03:18Yeah, I know.
03:19So much fun.
03:20I love getting to support artists because it's so fun to get to play to their fan base.
03:23And meet them and help new people find my music.
03:28Yeah.
03:29I love playing shows.
03:30It's my favourite part of support artists.
03:33Cool.
03:34Yeah.
03:35Cool.
03:36And so, obviously, you've been on Oraday from the stage.
03:40Where can people hear you or see you next?
03:43Why not festival next weekend which I'm really excited for.
03:46Oh really?
03:47And then I'm playing in Nottingham in September the 29th I think.
03:52Where up?
03:53The old bus depo.
03:54Oh okay.
03:55I've never actually played Nottingham before so I'm really excited for that.
03:57And then a small Birmingham bunch of people dates to be announced very soon.
04:01And new music to be announced very soon as well.
04:03New music?
04:04Yes.
04:05When?
04:06I can't say exactly when yet but it'll all be...
04:11I did play new songs in my set just then so that was kind of a sweet preview.
04:19And how's that gone across?
04:20Yeah, yeah, really good.
04:21I was really impressed with how many people were there.
04:23I didn't think because I'm obsessed with opening the stage.
04:25I didn't think it would be too cool but I was very pleasantly surprised.
04:29And are you going to be sticking around over the course of this weekend?
04:31Yeah, absolutely.
04:32I was here last night so cool which is insane.
04:34How was?
04:35Do you enjoy it?
04:36Yeah, yeah, yeah.
04:37It was really good.
04:38I'm looking forward to hopefully see our daydramals here.
04:41I mean everyone really.
04:42And we're back tomorrow as well.
04:43Making the most of it.
04:44Okay.
04:45Well, see you around.
04:46Say hello.
04:47Yes.
04:49It's been a pleasure.
04:50Thank you so much.
04:51Short but sweet.
04:52And your second single, Valentine's Day, which blends a unique production and heart-wrenching
04:59lyrics with a soaring chorus to create an anthem from the universal feeling of unrequited
05:04love.
05:05That's who his blank blog said that about that song.
05:08But yeah, check out Valentine's Day.
05:10That's a good one as well.
05:12Throw in your feels.
05:14Throw in your feels.
05:15In your feels, yeah.
05:16In your feels.
05:17There they are.
05:18It's all about being in the feels.
05:19That's the vibe.
05:20So, yeah.
05:21Thank you very much.
05:23From all of us at the Sheffield Star, we wish you the best of luck.
05:25And the image of her shoes.
