00:05got a big bit then they would listen to it but if albion were to move on the likes of

00:17world where that happens and if it does you know with the players that come in and just replacing

00:20though you know is it is it kind of time for those players in a sense to you know move on because

00:27there has been if you look over the last few years there's been players in the album squad that

00:30haven't been made much of an impact you know who've been there as you know when davanti colcombe and we

00:35described him as basically no offense to mike he scored goals in league one you know it's probably

00:39about his level but you know we described him as you know more bodies to bulk out the squad

00:45albion have been in a position where you know they haven't gotten playoffs three of the last

00:50four years you know is that because they've been signing players you know they've been signing good

00:56players who've made an impact on the first team squad but have they also been signing players

00:59who are just purely their bodies and you can't afford to do that if you get a magnet promotion

01:03challenge no i mean that's a it's a cracking question really um i think i think the crooks that

01:12the point of your question there maybe can be re-nosed as do squad players at albion need to be better

01:19and i think most would go along with that however what is this now i think i wrote the other day the

01:25third season in a row without the boost of premier league parachutes um which makes it tougher you

01:32know though when you're looking to build your squad those above you those with the parachutes will

01:36naturally be able to go higher and and get better squad options in so that's again comes back to the

01:43challenge of recruitment doesn't it and you know we talk about squad players don't we we talk about you

01:48know use current examples like a diakite the squad player and look look at a banner you cost good money you

01:55know these these players need to make an impact don't they caught carlin grant you know classic

02:01example of costing so much so long ago and now being a squad option started really well last year

02:07need more of that players stepping forward you know albin had one a decent season out of jed wallace

02:14didn't they and this is now going into his fourth and by the way jed wallace lost his place to tom

02:19fellows not because he wasn't playing well and and now obviously he's has been out of it you know john

02:24swift graded in gone i guess they've gone now but there were squad players who good players

02:30by the way really good players for championship level in terms of on paper their names but

02:34they didn't deliver did they really you know patches the odd game and you know fans love

02:40gradient and i get it i like grady but you're not consistently delivered enough

02:45um and swift you know only really had the one good pre-injury spell didn't he so um no perfect

02:53point really johnny that the squad options need to be improved on but it's not it's not easy is it i

02:59don't think it's easy because you're where you're shopping is not a high-end market where you've almost

03:07got guarantees you're having to you're having to see who you can get for a more sort of uh relatively

03:14low fee and it can you can coach up or it can outperform what they what they were what their

03:18value is and you're not going to get that with every player are you you just aren't um like you

03:24know you're not going to get an eyes at price with every you know you're not going to be able to go

03:27look on the continent someone available for a couple of million pound and all of a sudden have a 10

03:33million pound talent on your hands like that within a few months that that's that's a rare

03:38you know real hit the likes of hegan being one as well um i think a trump card or release in the

03:44pack this season could be hegeber and how he adapts i really do it take and ease the burden

03:49and hopefully off dk major let them play when they're ready and you know hopefully physically

03:54they'll be okay albeit the straws they've had before the squad off yeah i mean you mentioned four

04:01in that question didn't you johnny bartley wallace colin for botter and i think in terms of where

04:07they are in albin squad they're all in much of a much in a relatively much in a similar boat obviously

04:13colin for botter a lot more recent signings that have only had one season where they've been

04:18right on the outside of it not started a league game you know cameo subs at very best often not in

04:23the squad and then in bartley and wallace you've got more experienced players the other side of 30

04:30long serving both you know bring a voice and a leadership role both play an important part in

04:36that certainly wallace as club captain however you know aren't playing as much as they would like to

04:42aren't you know bartley's case as physically fit as as they were ready obviously bartley not really

04:47training in full this summer hasn't featured in friendlies wallace we know he's placing pecking

04:52order behind fellows and you know wallace is a big earner as we know as we understand bartley not

04:59not so much these days but yeah i think i think it's clear isn't it it's clear that there are players

05:04more on the fringes that albin would be more open to looking at working something out for if it could

05:10work for artists if the interest was there and that's a big if isn't it if the interest was there

05:13um than your jewels and the crown moving on however if jewels and the crown had to move on

05:22because the you know there was significant enough interest and bid that there was out of albin's

05:27value they would do it and they would reinvest it and then the challenge is to you know it sorts

05:32the club's psr position which frustratingly is what has to be sorted you know is the model

05:37in terms of you you get a player on a low fee if they can move on for a big fee great help the club

05:45reinvest hopefully get good players into you know two or three players for what these players are sold

05:51for and then you the aim is that they're as good and they can help the club move on and improve the

05:55financial position all of that nobody listening to this wants xyz to to to move on i'm sure nobody

06:04listens to this wants to see albin self fellows wants to see albin so hegan price no but if it's

06:10for the benefit of the club overall and and the and the valuation is is right then it's the right thing

06:16to do i think one thing that is the key message in all of this and probably hasn't happened for a

06:21while is that albin needs to become better sellers and you know it's hard to stomach that as a football

06:27fan i like it is um however if the right approaches and offers come in then it's it has to be has to

06:35be done really doesn't it uh that's that's where they're you know with no parachute payments you know

06:40obviously the the the whole thing changes if albin you know get get there and yeah get the financial

06:46boost of the premier league but where they are without the boost of those parachutes and

06:50you know chilling effectively footing things as he has for so long already um that's what they have to do
