00:00Previously on Next Gen NYC.
00:05Apartment shopping in New York.
00:07Absolutely impossible.
00:08There's dead pigeon.
00:09Oh, my God!
00:11Am I your second ever first date?
00:12No.
00:13Chloe went on a date with Charlie.
00:15He texted me, come meet us out later tonight
00:18if I'm not already back at my place with your sister.
00:21You want me to talk to him?
00:23You don't alienate us the way that dad does.
00:25My mom up in my early youth,
00:27but, like, she tried so hard to make up for it.
00:29Unlike my dad, who continues to be a dick.
00:31Are you happy in the life you have right now?
00:33Um...
00:34How many people try to mimic black women
00:36and they, like, curse their lips
00:37and then start swinging their finger?
00:39That was the attitude.
00:40It was like...
00:41Charlie's trying to spin this narrative
00:43that I'm, like, this scary black girl when I'm not.
00:45I certainly did not mean to offend you
00:47with any imitation of you, and I'm sorry.
00:50Charlie's like, I didn't actually mean what I said
00:53when I apologized.
00:54He just said it to, like, appease you.
00:56I think you need to realize that you have black women
00:58that are friends.
00:59Oh, my God.
01:00I'm not having this conversation again.
01:01Charlie.
01:02Please let go of my hand.
01:03I'm getting in an Uber.
01:04I think that's really up.
01:05What is wrong with him?
01:07You are firmly planted in the garden of tranquility.
01:15Occasionally, the girl will chime in.
01:19Oh, Jesus.
01:20Oh!
01:21That was in the moment there, honey.
01:23That was good.
01:24Oh, there was a little...
01:25Exhale.
01:26Peace out.
01:27Ohhh.
01:28Oh.
01:29You got to get my pain.
01:30Runnin' solo, no pain.
01:33Have a nightmare for everything, pay the blank.
01:35I tell my girl, hold up, I'll be right back.
01:39By the way, if you see anything in the shot that looks, like,
01:40less than attractive, you know, just, like, tell me
01:41so like, throw it away.
01:42I think that-
01:43Yeah, I think that-
01:44I don't wanna come across like a f*** bum.
01:45Like, I'm almost 30.
01:46They're gonna get, they're gonna really roast the s*** out of me
01:47out of me if it's just like rolling joints
01:48and like living in a mess, you know?
01:58There is ample amounts of space.
01:59If need be, I could even put my shoes in here.
02:03I'm very impressed with this closet.
02:04A tub and a shower.
02:06No shimmying, no nothing, hands up all around.
02:10It's perfect.
02:11Are we doing this?
02:13Let's get an offer in ASAP.
02:14I'll get back to the office and write it up.
02:16Yay!
02:28Hey guys, welcome back to Turning the Tables.
02:31Okay, okay, we're recording.
02:33Hi guys, how are you?
02:42What the f*** up?
02:46What the f*** up is?
02:47What the f*** up is?
02:48What the f*** up is?
02:49Wow.
02:50I can't tell what's like real.
02:52This is like a natural trip.
02:54If you told me I wasn't on drugs right now,
02:56I wouldn't believe you.
02:57My parents spend a decent amount of time in New York City.
03:00Me and both of my siblings are here.
03:02Reach for the light.
03:03Come on in, honey.
03:04Welcome to Uranus.
03:05I feel like I'm in an insane asylum.
03:08Whoa, hold on.
03:09Whoa, stop.
03:10A couple that jumps together, humps together.
03:13It's like with most kids go to college and the kids like leave the nest.
03:18With my parents, they just pick up the nest and move it to where the kids are.
03:21How did you get down?
03:23You have to go over there and climb through that hole.
03:25What hole?
03:27You're like Charlie.
03:28You hung over?
03:30I didn't even know that you were going to meet with Charlie.
03:32I've always wanted to be like a life coach.
03:36I mean, seriously?
03:38How would you feel if your dad like started meeting up with your friends?
03:42I think it just honestly is a little bit much for me because I feel like you guys share a lot of friends with me.
03:48And like I feel like sometimes I don't have my own social life, you know?
03:53Sometimes it doesn't feel like I have a lot of independence from my parents.
03:56You've complete independence from me, but you are entirely attached to your mom.
04:01You're like a little baby kangaroo.
04:03I want to be a mother.
04:05That's like the next level for a father.
04:07I think he just wants me to cut the cord with my mom so he can attach it to himself.
04:13Hmm.
04:14I would really like to know what it is that you guys talked about.
04:17We talked about finding your purpose.
04:20He's so authentic.
04:22He's not a bull .
04:23And sometimes when you're so authentic, it can get you in trouble.
04:27Yeah.
04:28There he is.
04:29Hey.
04:30Hello.
04:31Good to see you.
04:32What's up?
04:33Hello.
04:34Hi.
04:35You look pretty.
04:36How are you?
04:37I'm talking about his roommate Dylan.
04:40What about Dylan?
04:41He's another friend of mine.
04:42Who's more active?
04:43Dylan's more active in the sense that he's bisexual.
04:45So he's just like, everyone can get it.
04:46Like anyone.
04:47Is that what?
04:48Being fluid?
04:49Hands?
04:50Is that like you just anyone?
04:51Yeah.
04:52That's what I'm trying to get to.
04:53Don't tell my wife.
04:54Fair.
04:55Seth, you're acting very bizarre.
04:58Why are you being weird?
05:00Anyone else hungry?
05:02Why can't you get your pudding, madame?
05:04I want a cheeseburger with French fries.
05:05I'm just going to eat whatever you order from the table.
05:06The large salade niçoise, and we'll share it, but olive oil and lemon, and no onions,
05:24and definitely no vinegar.
05:26Thanks.
05:27You guys are looking good.
05:29Yeah.
05:30I love Talia.
05:31I think she's hilarious.
05:33Both of my parents found a particularly loony partner.
05:36Your mom went out with my best friend.
05:38He was too boring, and she left him.
05:40Even though he had a huge .
05:42It was nine inches.
05:44Talia, she's also crazy, but in a good way.
05:48When are you going to have Talia in your life?
05:50Huh?
05:51What's going on with you, by the way?
05:52With what?
05:53My dating life?
05:54Yeah.
05:55Your love life.
05:56I'm dating around.
05:57Having fun.
05:58Frankly, I feel bad for you.
05:59Because I don't have Talia?
06:00Because you see what I have, and you know, you can't.
06:03You can never, you can never.
06:04You're just rubbing it in my face.
06:05You can never achieve.
06:06You can never achieve.
06:07You can.
06:08It's hard to achieve perfection like Talia.
06:09Shut up.
06:10My dad can, like, say some up that, like, isn't nice to hear.
06:14The apple didn't fall far in that regard.
06:20Of course.
06:21I would have a harder time remembering something that he said that didn't really hurt me.
06:23Why don't you come over tomorrow by the pool?
06:28It's beautiful out.
06:29Yeah.
06:30I'll invite some of my friends on this, if that's cool.
06:32Is there already olive oil and lemon, or?
06:34I don't think there is any.
06:35This looks dry, so I need olive oil.
06:37I was kind of...
06:38Lemon.
06:39Okay, thank you.
06:40We don't need it.
06:41No, we don't need it.
06:42Thank you for having your grandma around.
06:43Yeah, she's great.
06:44I love granny.
06:45She was very concerned that, you know, she wasn't going to like being on the 85th floor.
06:48Once she was there, she really didn't care.
06:50Same thing on the 32nd floor of the old apartment.
06:53From, first of all, we were on the 28th, not 32nd.
06:55No.
06:56Okay, you want a bet?
06:57Yeah, I'll bet you 100 bucks.
06:58100 bucks?
06:59Yeah.
07:00Okay, you're a witness, okay?
07:01It's very common for, you know, things to get competitive, and it's all just one big,
07:05you know, dick measuring contest with my dad.
07:07Hey, Rick, we have a bet going that you have to settle for us, okay?
07:11So the elevators in the building, what floor do they go to before it starts to say penthouse
07:16A, penthouse B, penthouse C?
07:18It's 25, it's about.
07:21All right, thank you, Ricky.
07:25See, he's never wrong.
07:26So you're paying for lunch, it seems.
07:28You're just rubbing it in my face.
07:29I don't want to high-five you for that, you.
07:32Ha.
07:33Hey.
07:34Hey, what's happening?
07:35Dad, what's happening with the golf tournament?
07:36Where are we going?
07:37We're going to invite my friend Brooks and Charlie as well, but I don't really want to hang
07:42out with Charlie.
07:43He's really getting on my last nerve.
07:45What happened?
07:46And my dad definitely wants to know exactly what's going on in my life, and honestly,
07:51it's so fun giving tea to someone who is sat.
07:56Who's your friend circle out here?
07:58Brooks, Riley, Charlie.
08:00Are they all trust fund babies?
08:01Most.
08:02Who's the most flirtatious?
08:03Charlie.
08:04Charlie?
08:05Charlie has been, like, getting into fights with literally everyone and, like, not apologizing
08:10and stuff.
08:11Yesterday, Riley felt like the way Charlie was describing her was making her come off as,
08:15like, angry black woman vibes, and, you know, obviously that's super triggering.
08:18So I was trying to explain to him, like, just, you know, this is something you know nothing
08:22about, so just zip it.
08:24Like, she's so frustrated.
08:25She's crying.
08:26Like, just shut up, honestly.
08:27And he was, like, turning on me and, like, coming at me for, like, why am I getting involved
08:31and blah, blah, blah.
08:32And I was like, dude, I'm trying.
08:33Wait, wait, stop right there.
08:35He was talking aggressively to you.
08:37Yeah, like, not kind at all.
08:39How's his relationship with his mother?
08:41Like, she doesn't live in the city.
08:43They're not so close, I don't think.
08:44I mean, he's 30.
08:45Like, he doesn't live at home anymore, you know?
08:47Does he like women?
08:49Yes.
08:50So why does he treat him so bad?
08:53Don't know.
08:54That's an issue.
08:55I think he has to really understand what it means to like or love a woman.
08:59But first, he has to know how to love himself.
09:02Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.
09:08Carrie Bradshaw once said, like, in New York, you're always looking for a job, an apartment,
09:12or a boyfriend.
09:13And, like, I've been looking for all three more than not.
09:16You're doing a really good job.
09:18It's like right, left, right.
09:21I've never seen you, like, walk so much, actually.
09:24Omar and I have been hanging out a lot.
09:26We've been, like, going on dates.
09:27Oh, and then this was the other place I wanted to do a party at, but they also don't want to do parties.
09:32Oh, it does look like a wedding venue.
09:33Yeah.
09:34When I was a senior in college, this random guy said if I wanted to throw a party, he would invest in it.
09:40It went amazing.
09:41I mean, a ton of money.
09:42I loved it, and I'm addicted to doing this.
09:44You know me.
09:45It's like, if I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it all the way.
09:47Yeah.
09:48Omar runs a crypto startup company.
09:51I've never dated someone who wears a suit, honestly.
09:54Hello.
09:55Hi.
09:56How are you?
09:57Good.
09:58It's been tough because Omar's on a completely different lifestyle.
10:02I hate charity.
10:03I know.
10:04He was waking up at, like, five in the morning, an hour or two after I go to bed.
10:10But Omar is a genius.
10:15He's always been interested in opening, like, a physical space.
10:19Restaurants.
10:20Bars.
10:21I mean, it's just been, like, a childhood dream of mine.
10:23Really?
10:24I mean, I watched Ratatouille, and I was like, oh, like, what?
10:27Wow.
10:28That did it for you?
10:29After years and years of doing events for other people, I'm starting my own club, and Omar's coming in, and he's going to invest and find other investors as well.
10:38Do you have any concerns with, like, us working together?
10:41Business is business.
10:42You can't let emotion get in the way.
10:44I don't think we're going to ever end in a way that we're, like, can't speak to each other.
10:51But, like, I've been blocked many times.
10:54It's a red flag.
11:01Femme Fontaine.
11:02It's pink and there's flowers.
11:04Oh, my God.
11:05Perfect.
11:06We have an X over the nipple.
11:09Hello.
11:10How are you?
11:11Good. How are you?
11:12Good.
11:13Can we do, um, two dirty Shirlies?
11:14Sorry, Shirley.
11:15Awesome.
11:17It took us an hour and 30 minutes to get home from New Jersey.
11:19Literally.
11:20With all the bull that was going on.
11:21That was a long car ride.
11:23I was going to call Charlie and be like, what are you doing?
11:25You're really going alone, like a loser.
11:29Why aren't you riding back with us?
11:31What do you mean, bro?
11:32I got into a whole beef with Riley.
11:33You're on paper.
11:34Okay.
11:35Good warning.
11:36If something hurts my feelings, you have to have these conversations.
11:40You know that, right?
11:41Can we wait until tomorrow?
11:42Ugh.
11:43His voice is pissing me off.
11:45Can you give me the phone?
11:47This is not, like, running.
11:48You're right.
11:49Oh, my God.
11:51Now I feel better.
11:56I can't even imagine.
11:58He's just too grown and too old to not put in the work to be better.
12:04The way we were raised shapes us, and we're forced to be this type of person.
12:08But as we grow, it's our job to change that and work on the things that do not make us better.
12:14Same way he was a dick in the beginning.
12:15Yeah.
12:16And I was like, everyone was like, oh, he's gone through trauma in life and whatever.
12:20We've all gone through trauma, and you're grown.
12:22I love giving him excuses, and I'm not gonna let him do that.
12:25Like, I'm over it.
12:26I know everyone likes to let him slide, which I did before.
12:29But I've never had that in my face, especially from a friend, which I think hurts ten times more.
12:36I don't obviously understand this situation as fully that you do, but I'm in your corner, and I will never let anybody ever disrespect you.
12:44And I will literally hit a man for the first time if I need to.
12:47My mom was running housewives.
12:48We can handle our own.
12:49No, I'm getting very irritated.
12:50No, I'm getting very irritated.
12:51Well, if you're getting irritated, do what the you normally do and take your ass on and get in that car.
12:56If we need to throw that wine glass or shift that wig.
12:59I did not try to pull it off.
13:00I did not want to pull it off.
13:02I just wanted to shift it a little bit.
13:04Get away from me.
13:05I just want you to hold on.
13:06Hold on.
13:07We will, evidently.
13:09I don't even know how it's gonna be the next time I see him, but I genuinely don't think I can be friends with him.
13:16Coming up.
13:17She was saying how she was surprised you want to start a clothing brand.
13:21Excuse me.
13:22Where is she?
13:23Like, for real.
13:24I want Ava with a bitch-ass attitude.
13:27Yo.
13:28How far are you?
13:29You're just about to leave.
13:30Dude, it takes an hour and a half for you to get here.
13:45Come on.
13:46Come on, come on.
13:47You want to pop out and let him in?
13:50Yeah, you got it.
13:51Do you want to just pop out and let them in?
13:54Yeah, you got it.
13:59I made it.
14:01Aw, you're really getting better at punches.
14:04You practicing?
14:05Break your hand.
14:11Got it, baby.
14:13Oh, baby, I got it.
14:16Oh, baby, I got it.
14:19I got it.
14:21Almost got hit by a car.
14:22I was able to finally get this apartment in New York City.
14:25Thank .
14:26I am finally moved in.
14:28Jesus, I was going to say thank God.
14:30Okay.
14:31Thank you, Lord.
14:33We have finally found a place.
14:35I could not live in a hotel for another day.
14:37Move again?
14:38Yes, we just moved here from Atlanta.
14:40My bathroom is leaking into your apartment this morning.
14:43Oh!
14:44Oh, goodness.
14:45Perfect way to move in.
14:46So we definitely exceeded the budget.
14:48Which is stressful.
14:50And a 15% broker fee.
14:52The is that?
14:53I don't even want to talk about that.
14:54What the hell, New York?
14:56I'm like Santa with the sack.
14:59What is this?
15:01Oh, no.
15:03me.
15:04We should play summertime sadness because it's summer and we might have sadness.
15:17Wait, what do you do when you wake up feeling that way?
15:19Oh, my God.
15:20I feel like I always wake up with a little anxiety, but I think that's hormonal.
15:23But I swear to God, I feel like every day is a good day.
15:26Figure it out with them.
15:27So you think you just don't need therapy, but other people do?
15:29I was in it since age like five.
15:31For what?
15:32Well, like my dad died when I was young and before that he was a little out of control.
15:36My parents grew up in between poor and middle class.
15:41They both became lawyers and started their own law referral company together.
15:45And the company was doing really, really well.
15:48And then 9-11 happened.
15:50And I think that really derailed my father.
15:53I think it triggered a major PTSD response in him.
15:57So he kind of like went off the rails in a sense and ended up leaving my family and moving upstate.
16:03And that's where he ended up dying.
16:05And then I was kind of acting out when I was young and they put me into therapy.
16:08And then I pretty much saw a therapist on and off like until recently, until like a year ago.
16:13I was in and out of therapy all my high school.
16:15Really?
16:16Yeah.
16:17Why?
16:18Like beef with my dad.
16:19Basically, we kept trying to use them as mediators because like we would get.
16:21Oh, yeah.
16:22So like we would go together and try to like communicate effectively.
16:24Yeah.
16:25Okay, girls.
16:26It's our new home.
16:28Look, all of our stuff is coming.
16:30I do have to tell you something.
16:32What?
16:33Um, I don't know how these ended up on the floor.
16:38Outside.
16:40Oh, no, they're definitely broken.
16:43I'm so sorry.
16:44I literally have been stressed about the whole entire way up here.
16:46It's all right.
16:47I don't like worrying about money.
16:49Soho, baby.
16:50I could probably get some right down the street.
16:51I'm living in damn New York City.
16:53You know, I need to be making a lot more money than I was making in Atlanta.
16:56Yes.
16:57Hello, mother.
16:58What are you doing?
16:59Well, we have a home.
17:02Thank Jesus.
17:03Look.
17:04We finally made it.
17:05Let me see.
17:06It's huge.
17:07And then she's-
17:08Are you drinking my wine, guys?
17:09Yes, we are in honor of you.
17:11We're going to be here.
17:12We signed a year lease.
17:13I'm so proud.
17:14He makes me want to cry.
17:15Oh, God, don't do it.
17:16Then you're going to make me do it.
17:17This is so-
17:18You're just doing so good for yourself.
17:20You're in New York.
17:21Like, I think every little girl in the world dreams of just moving to New York and being able to do what you're doing.
17:26And just-
17:27It's-
17:28Just live in the moment.
17:29Appreciate every second.
17:30For real.
17:31I love you.
17:32And I can't wait for you to come here.
17:33Hudson, it better be a ring next, baby.
17:34It better be a ring next.
17:36Oh, my God.
17:38Beautiful house.
17:39Holy .
17:40Very stately.
17:41Very stately?
17:42Is that what you said?
17:43Yeah.
17:47Wow.
17:48Yay.
17:49We, like, ring the doorbell.
17:50Can we just walk in, probably?
17:52All right.
17:53Hello.
17:54We made it.
17:55Took you long enough.
17:56Don't blame me.
17:57I'm sorry we're late.
17:58I'm Georgia.
17:59Hi.
18:00Nice to meet you.
18:01Nice to meet you.
18:02I think it's definitely, like, an intimate experience when your friends are, like, commingling.
18:05With your family or your parents.
18:07Hi.
18:08I'm Brooks.
18:09Brooks, how are you?
18:10Thank you for having us.
18:12It's especially intimate when, like, my father is speaking to one of them.
18:16Because I'm wondering, what are they talking about?
18:18How's that going?
18:19What's he judging me as a result of that conversation?
18:21I don't know you're on the guest.
18:22That's so sweet.
18:23Yeah.
18:24How are you?
18:25Nice to meet you.
18:26Should we go outside?
18:27Yeah.
18:28Let's head out.
18:29Let's start the party.
18:30Whoa.
18:31I love this.
18:32Is that New York City?
18:33Not even a little.
18:34I feel like that's Jersey City or something.
18:35Wait.
18:36That's not right.
18:37We can't see Manhattan.
18:38Maybe it's Boston.
18:39I don't know.
18:40So, girls, who's more handsome?
18:44Charlie or me?
18:45I don't know.
18:46It's a top one.
18:47You guys can all just see him.
18:48I don't want him to be in a bad mood for the rest of the day.
18:52He doesn't want to do shots.
18:53Okay.
18:54I can do shots.
18:55Yeah.
18:56I'll reluctantly do a shot.
18:57Thank you so much for cooking for all of us.
18:58It's so nice to meet everyone here.
18:59Did you party with your birthday?
19:01No, I didn't.
19:04I was at my friend's birthday dinner.
19:06Oh, is that right?
19:07Yeah.
19:08I'm really trying to be chill.
19:10It's beautiful here.
19:11But, like, my dad could not be more different.
19:15I am so proud of you.
19:18Thanks.
19:19Pull my finger.
19:20What?
19:21Pull it.
19:22No, dad.
19:23Hey, for the board, not me.
19:26And it's over, ladies and gentlemen.
19:28No, not yet.
19:29Not yet.
19:30I don't even have to throw it.
19:31All right, good.
19:32Then don't.
19:3420 bucks.
19:35I know I love cornhole so much.
19:40Imagine growing old on this bench.
19:42We were, like, watching our kids play.
19:44And then, like, grandchildren.
19:45It's such a romantic life.
19:47Nah.
19:48Thank you for having us.
19:49This has been very nice.
19:50You've been great.
19:51I appreciate all the effort you put in meeting everyone and everyone else.
19:54Yeah, they're cool, by the way.
19:55Yeah.
19:56I knew you liked everyone.
19:57Yeah.
19:58I knew you liked everyone.
19:59I love seeing Charlie and his, like, family dynamic.
20:00I know.
20:01I just like that they look alike.
20:02It's very cute.
20:03No, they kind of are totally alike.
20:05It's like Charlie and, like, his older self.
20:07Literally.
20:08Yes, that's what I'm saying.
20:09It's like holding a mirror up to him in, like, 40 years.
20:12So, anyway, any plans as you approach 30?
20:16Any thoughts?
20:17I'm not talking about that.
20:18I know you don't want to talk about it, but you've got to have a plan for it.
20:20No, but they're not positive, frankly, when we have these conversations.
20:24I feel weird, Loki, because I feel like I know Charlie's perspective of his dad.
20:28Yeah.
20:29And it's not positive.
20:30Yeah.
20:31Charlie's dad is a pretty intense figure.
20:33On and off, we have difficult conversations.
20:36But I think Charlie grew up with, like, very, very, very high expectations.
20:39And I think Charlie being Charlie, like, rebelled against that.
20:42And I think at a certain point, parent and child kind of both got fed up with each other.
20:48Come on.
20:49This is just a lot.
20:50I hate when I feel like this.
20:51Right.
20:52That's, you know what?
20:53I don't want to get into your drama.
20:54I mean, at a certain point, like, I can't live to make him happy, and he's rarely happy.
20:57I would get a 99 on a math test, and, like, it's like, yo, why did you miss that one point?
21:01There's always something wrong.
21:03Is that rigatoni?
21:04Would you like some?
21:05Yeah, yeah, yeah.
21:06We'll take it off your hands.
21:07Thank you so much.
21:08Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum.
21:09Well, .
21:11He said something kind of weird the other day, and he's like, I can't stay with my dad.
21:14If my dad doesn't want me there, that's why he gives me my allowance money so he doesn't have to deal with me.
21:19That I already assumed.
21:20Like, that, like, makes me sad.
21:23I'm sure, you know, his dad's giving up on him must make Charlie give up on himself a little bit, even if he doesn't consciously see it.
21:31Okay, but, like, Charlie is, like, 38.
21:36Bro, it never, it never ends, bro.
21:39What happened?
21:40Scooch over.
21:41No, my dad is just pissing me off.
21:43You hate when people do that.
21:44Yeah, like, have a normal conversation with me versus judging my private life.
21:48At the end of the day, I just want peace.
21:50I just want peace in my life.
21:51And part of me is worried that I'll never get it until he dies, frankly.
21:54But, I don't know.
21:55I guess we'll, we'll have to wait and see.
21:57Can we smoke this, like, away from my dad?
21:59Over there.
22:00Let's go, I need to come.
22:01No.
22:06Coming up.
22:07I think that was my phone that fell off of the golf cart.
22:09What?
22:10Can you track it?
22:11No, I don't know how to track.
22:12You have my location.
22:13Shit, it fell out.
22:14Don't scream at me like that.
22:16What?
22:17Oh!
22:28Did you think through her yet?
22:30No.
22:31Ava texted me that she's, like, five minutes away.
22:33Hey, everybody.
22:34Have fun.
22:35Happy Friday.
22:36Have fun.
22:37Yeah!
22:38Don't embarrass me in front of my friend and her dad.
22:41Do you think I'm capable of embarrassing you?
22:43Yes, I definitely do.
22:50OSG!
22:52OSG stands for Off School Grounds.
22:54So you know everyone here is a principal or a superintendent?
22:57The OSG is hundreds of principals
22:59from economically challenged places.
23:00And what I've done is I taught them entrepreneurship.
23:03He's an entrepreneur.
23:04He co-founded Rockefeller Records and for Rock Aware.
23:08When I was like four years old,
23:09I was in the Rock Aware campaigns.
23:11With my mom being a fashion designer,
23:13fashion has always been a part of my life.
23:16My godfather, Andre Leon Talley,
23:18we call him fashion's godfather too.
23:21She has a black belt in fashion.
23:22I want her to know the superhero that she is
23:25and the power that she has and how to use it.
23:29Our thing is we don't talk about problems.
23:30We like to fix it and the solutions are right there.
23:33I like that.
23:34I like that a lot.
23:36Period.
23:37So who's driving?
23:38You want to drive, Ava?
23:39You want me to drive?
23:40You want me to drive?
23:42All right, true.
23:43I'm about to say.
23:44You're going to not lose a ball today.
23:47Put that out in the universe.
23:48I want to switch carts and ride with Damon, so.
23:50There you go.
23:59Damn.
24:00Oh, no.
24:01The next time we're going to play basketball, OK?
24:03How about that?
24:04Keep your eye on the ball.
24:05Oh!
24:06Boom!
24:06Down the middle.
24:07Oh!
24:08Woo!
24:09Bam!
24:10There it is.
24:11Oh, four heads up.
24:12Heads up, Warren.
24:13About to take out a principal.
24:15Sorry about that.
24:16Let's go, Brad.
24:17One, two, three.
24:19Boom!
24:20You don't see that every day.
24:21I don't mean anything.
24:22You smoke?
24:23Cigarettes or?
24:24Weed.
24:25Weed.
24:26Uh.
24:27Got to drive?
24:28I work in public company, you know.
24:29Oh, .
24:30Yeah.
24:31Well, I'll smoke white.
24:36You guys hang out?
24:37All the time.
24:39Did you hear that?
24:41I just want to be your friend.
24:43Best friend.
24:45All right, so we on to the next hole?
24:46Yep.
24:47We Brooks want a ride together?
24:49This car's like kind of broken.
24:50I'm not going to lie.
24:51I think I was driving that one with the parking brake on.
24:53Oh.
24:54Yes.
24:55Okay, wait, so tell me about yesterday.
24:58It was so cute seeing Charlie with his family, but it was weird.
25:02Like, he definitely had his, like, moments where he was,
25:05like, freaking out.
25:06He's such a drama queen, I can't.
25:09For someone who doesn't love the drama, Charlie's obsessed.
25:13Charlie's at the center of every single dramatic moment
25:17that I've had this summer.
25:18I'm not going to reach out to him or anything.
25:20I don't think it's our responsibility.
25:22My dad's thing is, like, it's deeper rooted.
25:24Yeah.
25:25In the car yesterday, he was saying that someone tried to make him go to, like, therapy and
25:29that he, like, left halfway through the therapy and was like, I'm not doing this.
25:33Immediately sits me down and starts talking about, like, therapy therapy.
25:36And I was like, I'm not here for this.
25:37And I left.
25:38And then started saying that me, Dylan, or Georgia should go.
25:42Dude, you should talk about this with a therapist.
25:43I feel like you should do it, too.
25:44Not everything needs to be going to a therapist.
25:46You do it.
25:47I'm not into it, but you guys seem into it.
25:49It sucks.
25:50You seem like maybe it would benefit you.
25:51I mean, what?
25:52I was like, first of all, I have a therapist.
25:53Yes.
25:54First of all, so do I.
25:55Like, we all need therapy.
25:56Take the help.
25:57I mean, I used to be the type where, like, I would hate therapy, too.
26:00And, like, my parents were getting divorced, they put me in a therapist's office.
26:04And I literally sat there, like, armed crossed, like, I will not talk.
26:06Like, so stubborn.
26:07But I was also eight.
26:09I went when I was a kid, but it was because I thought my house was haunted.
26:12And I, like, couldn't sleep.
26:15Was it haunted?
26:17Yes, I'm still convinced it was, but my parents were like, you need to go to a therapist
26:20because it's not normal that you're seeing, like, elves in the service.
26:23You saw elves?
26:24That's not normal at all.
26:29No, I'm fine now.
26:31I survived.
26:32Who was there when you were crawling like a Navy seal at three years old because you were
26:38afraid of monsters in your bedroom?
26:40What did I do?
26:41You'd make me a little bed, and then I'd sleep on the floor next to your bed.
26:45I will wave you in and always have a place for you.
26:49That's very cute.
26:50I forgot about that.
26:51Uh-oh, a storm is brewing.
26:54It's raining.
26:55It's raining.
26:56Do you know where you're going?
26:57Nicholas, protect my bags.
26:59Uh.
27:00Protect the bullets, the aga.
27:01This vest can't get wet.
27:03It has goose down in it.
27:05Ah!
27:06I think that was my phone that fell off of the golf cart.
27:09No way.
27:10So you better go back then.
27:11Can you track it?
27:12No, I don't know how to track.
27:13I don't know how to track.
27:14You have my location.
27:15Can you track my phone?
27:16I don't have your location.
27:21You said it fell out.
27:22Don't scream at me like that.
27:26Is this it?
27:27Oh yeah, it's right there.
27:28Thank God.
27:29Jesus.
27:32Coming up.
27:33Ariana's kind of growing on me.
27:34I have a crush on her now.
27:35No.
27:36Maybe I'll try to .
27:37Charlie.
27:40Let's go.
27:41We them rebels, everybody wanna talk about.
27:45We stay up all night and cause a riot scream and shout.
27:49Get on the blow, on the blow.
27:51If you're really bout it, don't take it slow, take it slow.
27:55Everybody shout a job.
28:04This is so far.
28:13Hello.
28:14Good morning.
28:15Good morning.
28:16Good morning for me.
28:17How are you?
28:20I don't think it's ironic that I'm dating someone in finance because he's not in finance,
28:23he's in crypto, which I think is like actually the antithesis of like finance jobs.
28:32It's way more anarchist, way more radical.
28:34I'm sorry I didn't come over last night.
28:36I was watching a really good movie and like popped a bottle of Shandong.
28:41I don't know, cause I'm really talking myself into it.
28:45I've been thinking a lot about what we can do.
28:48Are we gonna whiteboard?
28:50Um.
28:51Hell no.
28:52Yes.
28:54The parties I throw are really, really unique for like this day and age and location.
28:59Okay.
29:00What do I always say is the number one priority in life?
29:02Uh, fun?
29:03Yes, exactly.
29:05Number two.
29:06Sexy and cool.
29:07Sexy and cool.
29:08You know it.
29:09If you're wearing heels, I'm not gonna let you in.
29:11If you're wearing like a suit, I'm not gonna let you in.
29:13If you work in finance, I'm not gonna let you in.
29:15And number three, what is more of your priority?
29:18Money.
29:19Money.
29:20Yeah, I mean, I think American Psycho is a really good example of like the archetype of person I don't want coming to my event.
29:26I have noticed this trend.
29:30Cool kids are doing nerdy activities.
29:33Like a big idea I've been working with is bowling.
29:36Kind of like Americana, middle America, it's like back in.
29:41Coastally.
29:42I told my mom we went bowling.
29:44She's like, I love bowling.
29:45We don't have that much in common, but we love bowling.
29:49I really feel like it's a great unifier.
29:52So now we have the fun with bowling.
29:55How do we make it sexy and cool?
29:57That's where I come in.
29:58Once we have all of this figured out, then you see it.
30:01I know what we need.
30:02Like, it's not rocket science.
30:04It's just a matter of doing it.
30:05Okay, great.
30:06This is how it should be.
30:08Yeah.
30:09Fun.
30:10Fun.
30:11Fun.
30:18Hi, Charlie.
30:19How are you?
30:20She shows up.
30:21Aren't you so happy?
30:22How are you?
30:23I'm good.
30:24How are you?
30:25I'm good.
30:26Hi, would you be down to get lunch tomorrow and talk?
30:28I want to know why you're upset at me so I can understand and apologize.
30:32And I said, yeah.
30:33How can I make us good friends again?
30:36Charlie, you just need to apologize.
30:38I'm sorry.
30:39It's like really not that hard.
30:40I'm sorry.
30:41I love you.
30:42And you need to mean it.
30:43Is that it?
30:44I do mean it.
30:45All the like little tips you've gotten in, like I'm the only one trying to help you and
30:48like give you my advice for how to like make sure that people aren't upset with you.
30:51And then you like turn on me.
30:52I was like, are you serious?
30:53I didn't turn on you.
30:54I wasn't like snapping.
30:55All I wanted was just like a...
30:56You so were snappy and sassy and frassy.
30:59Okay.
31:00And I didn't deserve it.
31:01Everyone else is perfect.
31:02No one else is sassy but Charlie.
31:04No.
31:05Just not at me.
31:06I get it.
31:07Well, Riley and I are very good now.
31:09Oh really?
31:10Yeah.
31:11What happened?
31:12We ended up just grabbing a coffee in Dumbo.
31:14Cute.
31:15It was good.
31:16We like walked and talked.
31:17Similar to this.
31:18I'm on my apology tour today.
31:20So I'm here to listen to you.
31:21Oh, I was going to say the same thing.
31:23Yeah, but Charlie, if I already explained it to you, why do I need to explain it again?
31:27What are you listening to now?
31:29You already heard me.
31:30None of my actions ever come from a place of malice or like, you know, I would never try to hurt anyone.
31:35I feel like they come from ignorance, which is why I was really frustrated when I took the time to like explain it to you.
31:42I am really sorry.
31:43I should have just sat there and listened better and I should not have undermined my apology.
31:47I just didn't want to be painted in an unfairly villainized light, I guess.
31:51And maybe I'm then triggered with like my family or whatever, always like villainizing me unfairly, so.
31:57Yeah.
31:58I think Charlie convinces himself that he's right always.
32:03And I think that's a different issue.
32:05I should have been more understanding to your, you know, perception of how things went down, you know.
32:11And obviously I'm never going to be able to understand, you know, your struggle as a woman of color.
32:16So I am sorry for that.
32:17At my grown age of 21, I don't like to have issues with people anymore.
32:22If someone is opening up being like, okay, I want to figure this out, I don't hold gratitude.
32:27I'm going to move on.
32:28Clean slate.
32:29Give me another chance.
32:30I really am sorry.
32:31I want to be homies again.
32:32Like you're like an AA and you like have to go apologize to everyone.
32:35What is that?
32:36Like the nine step type ?
32:37Something like that.
32:38I'm so glad this apology tour has begun.
32:40Did you miss me?
32:41Me too.
32:42I don't want to say I hope it continues.
32:44I hope it ends because I hope it doesn't need to continue.
32:47Have you seen anyone like Hudson, Ariana, Gia?
32:50Not really.
32:51Just Brooks.
32:52Ariana's kind of growing on me.
32:53Really?
32:54In what way?
32:57Do you have a crush on her now?
32:59Maybe I'll try to her low key.
33:01Charlie.
33:02This is classic Charlie.
33:04Apologize for one thing and immediately on to the next.
33:07Bull**** item on the agenda.
33:09You know she's been dating her boyfriend for like two years.
33:11I'm not going to actively try but if it falls in my lap.
33:15If I get like the smallest green light like it's up.
33:19Alright.
33:24She's right here.
33:25Look how cute.
33:26Hi.
33:27Ron.
33:28Nice to meet you.
33:29Ariana.
33:30Nice to meet you.
33:31Welcome to the lab.
33:32I have wanted a clothing line for forever.
33:34But I don't know how to do a lot of things.
33:36And that's part of what coming to New York is about.
33:38It's really cool.
33:40So cool.
33:42Tell me a little bit about what you guys are thinking about.
33:45We are doing like a streetwear type of brand.
33:48Of course.
33:49Like the amazing stuff we have going on here.
33:52I just came here today wanting to hear from you and how your process was.
33:55Yeah.
33:56When I started my brand, I went into it with a strategy identifying three brands.
34:01Mm-hmm.
34:02Do you have three brands in your head that you're like, I like how they execute?
34:08Tell me about the empire that you guys are starting.
34:12I mean, we're both obviously obsessed with our clothes.
34:15Like we don't want to go somewhere in a trash bag.
34:18Even though I can make a trash bag look good.
34:21As you're creating this product, where's it going to be shipped?
34:24Where's it going to be housed?
34:25You know, how's it being paid for?
34:27Where are you guys at with that process?
34:29We've been saving up.
34:31Whatever you think you have is not enough.
34:34Oh.
34:35What is your mission statement?
34:37Give it to me.
34:38Elevator, pitch me.
34:39You're the face of this.
34:40This brand to me is all about people feeling great in what they're wearing.
34:47It's going to be such amazing quality as well that you're going to stand up tall and we're
34:52going to start out with pastels.
34:53I'm very nervous.
34:54Like little hearts everywhere.
34:56I love hearts and little two-two too.
34:58Have the little intricate details.
34:59We have so many things written down.
35:01There's a tremendous amount of enthusiasm.
35:05Tremendous amount of enthusiasm.
35:07The plan's not there yet.
35:09Focus, focus, focus.
35:10Another pearl of wisdom that I have because I've been there and done it.
35:14This business will age you in dog years.
35:17Seven for every one.
35:18Oh, fantastic.
35:19Your relationship is going to be challenged.
35:21Oh, no, it will be for sure.
35:23Doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
35:24Yep.
35:25To get adored angels out into the open, we need to get moving.
35:30Thank you so much.
35:31We really appreciate it.
35:32We want to get these samples back quick and get the first drop made, the second drop
35:35made, the third and the fourth.
35:36Like, so we can put it out like this.
35:37Obviously, we're all over the place right now, but I think that's all a part of doing
35:41this process is believing in yourself and it's time for you to get your ass in gear.
35:46Both of us.
35:49Both of us.
35:50Three.
35:51Three.
35:52Three.
35:53Three.
35:54Three.
35:55Two.
35:56Three.
35:57Three.
35:58Tons, three.
35:59Three.
36:00Two.
36:01Three.
36:02Three.
36:03Three.
36:04This is cute.
36:05Oh, thank you.
36:06That's my good side, Mom.
36:07Hi, you guys.
36:08That's my good side, mom.
36:09Switch.
36:10Come on, hi, you guys.
36:12We're gonna celebrate Chloe.
36:16Can I stop, please?
36:17Yeah, let's go.
36:18I knew you guys were gonna be wearing the same shoes.
36:20Okay.
36:21Thank God.
36:24Hello, we've finally arrived.
36:26Love you, mom.
36:27Hi.
36:29Yes, so nice to finally meet you.
36:31Kevin, nice to meet you.
36:32This is my boyfriend Hudson.
36:33What's your name?
36:34Kevin, Kevin. Hudson, nice to meet you, man.
36:36Can we do, um, six shots of, uh,
36:38Do you want a shot?
36:40Twist my arm.
36:41Cheers, you guys.
36:42Happy birthday, Chloe.
36:43Happy birthday.
36:44Thank you guys for coming.
36:47Cheers.
36:50Oh my God.
36:51Okay.
36:52Yeah, like barely.
36:54She does not.
36:57I sucked the whole thing out.
36:58Did you like redo your beat?
36:59No.
37:00Riley, Riley.
37:01No, no, no, no.
37:02I'm gonna do it.
37:03He pays for everything.
37:04Mind your business.
37:06That's what men do.
37:07Exactly.
37:08How did your lunch with Charlie go?
37:10Did you go?
37:11It wasn't lunch, it was a walk.
37:13It was actually cute.
37:14He like planned a walk.
37:15He was like, he apologized.
37:16And I was like, where's you?
37:18Do you think that he lowkey has feelings for you?
37:20No, I don't think that.
37:21Like you really think it's fully-
37:23I genuinely, like I look at Charlie,
37:25like my gay best friend.
37:27There's no way he like could have a crush on him.
37:30He did say like he would hook up with Ariel.
37:33One, though she has a boyfriend.
37:34No, he didn't.
37:36He is so wild.
37:38Ain't nobody taking me places.
37:39Never, baby.
37:40I want to get a drink.
37:42Okay, let's get a drink.
37:43Yeah.
37:44What are you doing?
37:45I'm showing you.
37:47You guys got a new place.
37:48Yes, we did.
37:49Where is it?
37:50Soho.
37:51I really wanted a view.
37:52What does it look like?
37:53Your photo?
37:53You gotta come over.
37:54Love to have you guys out.
37:55We'll do that.
37:56Have a seat on that.
37:57Congrats.
37:58Did you know that Ariana's a fashion designer?
38:01I did not know that.
38:02She told me that I was like a little surprised.
38:05Because I can't tell if being like,
38:06I'm surprised that she's a fashion designer
38:08has like a negative connotation.
38:12Well, I don't mean it in like a negative way.
38:15Just like every time I've seen her,
38:16I never like thought, oh, like she's giving fashion
38:20and like, I'm going to design her clothing on.
38:26Did you know that Ariana's a fashion designer?
38:28She told me that I was like a little surprised.
38:31Every time I've seen her, I never thought,
38:33oh, like she's giving fashion
38:35and like I'm going to design her clothing on.
38:37Did you not agree?
38:38I had friends in high school and college
38:41that would say things like that.
38:43And it was just so up.
38:45It's not classy to talk about someone you've just met.
38:50Why are you intentionally putting someone down
38:51to make yourself feel better?
38:53Be a good person, bitch.
38:57I'll be an octopus.
39:02Hi, Brooke.
39:03Brooke.
39:04You were talking to Ava for so long.
39:05Minding us no, nothing.
39:07What were y'all talking about?
39:08Birthday girl.
39:10Birthday, please.
39:11How are you guys?
39:12Cheers.
39:13We're only wondering because everybody's been off
39:14in their own little groups all night.
39:16Guys, you know I don't want to do this.
39:18Well, you have to, what is it?
39:21It's not that big of a deal, but like,
39:23she was saying how she was surprised
39:26that you want to start a clothing brand.
39:29Excuse me?
39:31Yeah.
39:32And I was like, I can't tell if-
39:34Really?
39:35What's the bull for no reason?
39:37Hold on.
39:39They've asked me the same question five times.
39:41What did happen with Ava?
39:42What were y'all talking about?
39:43What happened with Ava?
39:45So what happened with Ava?
39:46What happened with Ava?
39:47It's like, I don't crack under pressure,
39:50but I'll crack under tequila.
39:51Bitch, I got my clothes a box for today,
39:54so why don't you know?
39:55I honestly thought that by me saying this,
39:57it would be like, oh, diffuse the situation.
40:00I didn't even know it would be a damn situation.
40:02Why don't we go back to the actual circus
40:04with your shorts and your little shirt
40:05and shut the up?
40:07She's wearing gold sparkly shorts,
40:09telling me I have no style.
40:10Like, if I wanted to go to Forever 21, I would have.
40:13And I love Forever 21, just not the sparkly section.
40:16That's bull .
40:18I want Ava with the bitch-ass attitude.
40:22Like, for real.
40:23Honestly, I think it's rude as .
40:25I don't even know what's going on.
40:26I know Ava's a model.
40:27I didn't know she had a clothing line.
40:29Where's the bathroom?
40:30We're going to go pee. I got to pee really bad.
40:32So I need to calm myself down for a second.
40:34Apparently, she knows what's best.
40:36Who? We're pissing.
40:38It's awesome.
40:39It's Amira. It's Amira.
40:40Oh, oh, oh.
40:42Who's in it?
40:43Don't open it to .
40:45Don't open it to that.
40:46Apparently, it's me.
40:47Don't open it to that, please.
40:48I was just telling Chloe you should go dance a lot.
40:51Okay.
40:52No, don't freak out, but there's a situation.
40:55Amira, I know she's your really good friend.
40:58Who, who, who?
40:58Ava!
40:59Yeah, Ariana, Riley were like,
41:01what were you talking about?
41:02And so I was talking about how, like,
41:05you were surprised that Ariana has a clothing brand.
41:09Brooks, hello.
41:11What are you doing?
41:12Why did you say that?
41:13Like, it was not meant to be serious, obviously.
41:17That being said, I'm not going to pretend I never said anything.
41:19I would say it to her face.
41:21I'll clear it up with her, but, like,
41:22I didn't mean it in a bad way at all.
41:24I just wanted to have a stupid little streetwear brand
41:26that I can build off of until I have the money,
41:29because, sorry, my parents can't pay for anything
41:30because I'm paying their bills.
41:32I love you, Brooks, and thanks for introducing me
41:34to these people genuinely.
41:36But I don't know if some of these people are for me
41:38because I don't know what the is going on.
41:40I literally feel like this girl's Regina George.
41:43I didn't know we were in Mean Girls.
41:44Every time I've seen her, I didn't think she has, like,
41:46the best style for, like, a fashion designer.
41:48Hi.
41:50Hi.
41:51I knew you.
41:52Hi.
41:54Welcome.
41:55Hello.
41:56Are you OK?
41:58Are you?
41:59Why are you coming to my brand that you don't even know about?
42:04Next time on Next Gen NYC.
42:06My mom and I have a tumultuous work relationship.
42:09I don't know why you say that.
42:10Are you kidding?
42:11You fired me last week.
42:12What?
42:13We went out.
42:14Wasn't she?
42:1514.
42:161,000?
42:17Girl!
42:18It better not be on the card.
42:19I'll pay for it.
42:20You have no idea the amount of money I've spent
42:22in the past few weeks.
42:23I know how much his dad gives him for months.
42:25How much does he get every month?
42:27You're a stupid, delusional bitch, Georgia.
42:29Everyone here hates you.
42:31Bro, you would not be on the show this morning for me.
