House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) called on the Trump administration to release the Epstein files on Thursday.
Transcript
00:00Speaker Johnson is reportedly considering putting a non-Binding resolution on the floor
00:05calling for the release of all the files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
00:09Would that be satisfactory at this moment, or do you think Democrats at this point need
00:13to see something like the Kanna Amendment, which would actually force the release of
00:17those documents?
00:18The Kanna Amendment is the most appropriate step that can be taken in order to provide
00:25the American people with the transparency they deserve in terms of this whole, sordid,
00:33scandalous, and corrupt Jeffrey Epstein matter.
00:40This is very simple.
00:43The American people simply need to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the
00:48truth as it relates to this situation.
00:52Democrats didn't put this into the public domain.
00:55The conspiracy theory provocateur-in-chief, Donald Trump, is the one, along with his
01:09extreme MAGA-Republican associates, who put this whole thing into the public domain for
01:16years.
01:20And now they are reaping what they have sown.
01:22On that same topic, do you expect all Democrats to be signing on to the discharge petition
01:28to release Epstein information?
01:30It's my understanding that the discharge petition may not even ripen until after we return from
01:36the August district work period.
01:38So let's take one step at a time.
01:41And the most important thing that can be done at this moment is for Congress to act in a bipartisan
01:46way to demand that the American people get the transparency that they deserve.
01:54What is the Trump administration hiding from the American people?
02:00That's the question that needs to be answered.
