President Donald Trump’s decision to direct Attorney General Pam Bondi to release grand jury testimony in the Jeffrey Epstein case was intended to appease his political base after he had called them “stupid” for demanding the files to be released. But a group of House Republicans and right-wing influencers is arguing that they will accept nothing short of the federal government releasing everything it has on Epstein’s network and any high-profile connections.
00:00I want to see it released. I don't like transparency or anything. I think I was surprised when the Biden administration didn't really release it. And I'm surprised now that we're still not releasing it. But then again, I don't know what those presidents knew. I don't know what those DOJs know. There might be good reason, but I don't see what it is. I'm sure they could take us behind closed doors. Maybe they could explain their things. There must be reasons. But what it does is it fosters that conspiracy theorist mind.
00:29And I'd like to put it to rest. Well, here's the problem. The MAGA base, they voted for Republican majority and they voted for Donald Trump to be president to reach the untouchables. Because there's always been this class of people that seems to be above and beyond the law. And so the Epstein files are about reaching those people. And here's the problem for us here in the House specifically. If they become apathetic, if those
00:59voters who got energized and put Trump in the White House and us in the majority become apathetic because we don't follow up on this one simple small promise, then they're not going to show up in the midterms. We're going to lose the majority and the Democrats will be in charge.
01:13Don't create false expectations. Create expectations that you can live up to, right? So make it clear what timeline you're working on that's achievable. Make it clear what documents you think that you can release, what information.

01:38I want to know the chain. I want to know the money. I want to know the people involved. And all gloves are off. But I do warn people, though, just because somebody's on a travel log does not mean that they're a pedophile. If somebody's plane breaks down, somebody knows Epstein, and then they got a friend that gets on the plane with them, doesn't, you know, nobody knew this guy was as big a dirtbag as he was until the last few years until y'all broke the story.
