Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) calls on AG Pam Bondi to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Transcript
00:00The Epstein matter, the president says it's time to move on. What do you say to him?
00:04I think it's time for full transparency and accountability. That's why I offered the amendment
00:09the other day in the Appropriations Committee, which was unanimously supporting Democrats and
00:15Republicans. We need to get to the bottom of this, and we need to make sure that the Attorney General
00:21releases all the documents and answers the questions that we posed in that bipartisan
00:28amendment. What is driving your concern right now? My concern is that there is understandable
00:35public interest in this case, legitimate public interest, and that questions have not been
00:42answered, and they deserve to be answered. Some of your Republican colleagues have told us that
00:46their constituents don't care. This is a non-issue for their constituents. What do you think of them
00:50saying that? Well, as far as I can tell, lots of people are concerned. They worry about the fact that
00:57the U.S. government may not have provided full disclosure to the American people. And I think
01:03everybody has an interest in an open and transparent and accountable government. Thank you.
