00:29Mick Schumacher has had a lap time deleted, we're now on board with Lance Stroll and Stroll needs to get himself out of that bottom five with Mazepin and Giovinazzi still to cross the line, Stroll does get out of qualifying the two Aston Martins through to Q2, pushes Latifi back into that bottom five again, Mazepin is going to be the slowest, Giovinazzi goes sixth fastest and that's a super lap, especially when you consider his teammate Kimi Raikkonen only 13th fastest, Ocon does get himself out of that bottom five and it's not two Aston Martin,
00:59through to Q2 because Lance Stroll is pushed into that bottom five Daniel Ricciardo 11th fastest as he crosses the line and that's disappointment there for Lance Stroll who for a moment thought he got out of Q1 for the first time ever here at Interlagos but it's not to be, Sebastian Vettel who's missed out on Q3 and each of the last six races is going to miss out again, he's ahead of Tsunoda but behind Norris down in 12.
01:34He's got about a tenth of a second in hand I think to try and get himself into that top ten as he crosses the line goes seventh fastest, tenth and a half inside the time that he needed.
01:45Well done to Lando Norris, Fernando Alonso at risk now from this man, Kimi Raikkonen as Hamilton with a 108-0 goes fastest overall, four tenths up on Max Verstappen, same four tenths to his teammate Valtteri Bottas as well.
02:00Raikkonen would love to be in Q3 I'm sure but it's not going to happen for him sadly, he's ahead of only his teammate Antonio Giovinazzi.
02:07Esteban Ocon by five one hundredths of a second knocked out in Q2, Sebastian Vettel joins him as does Yuki Tsunoda and the two alphas of Raikkonen and Giovinazzi.
02:18And this is the man that's been setting the pace so far, was fastest in free practice one, Mercedes quickest in FP1 for the last eight events, was quickest in Q1 and he was fastest in Q2 too, so can Q3 reap its dividends and give Hamilton the top spot for the sprint tomorrow.
02:40A 17-4 for Hamilton through the first sector, that compares with a 17-7 for Valtteri Bottas, a 17-5 for Max Verstappen, 17-7s for Gasly and Perez and also Sainz and Alonso.
02:53Leclerc's time, a 109-4 is the time that they're all chasing to get to that top spot and Hamilton looking pretty impressive and pretty mighty in every single sector on this track.
03:05Giovinazzi does a 35-0 for the middle sector, Perez does a 34-8, Hamilton does a 34-6, so continuing to stretch his advantage, Valtteri Bottas matches him as does Max Verstappen.
03:20Hamilton at full blast now, over 200 miles an hour, he's got a 1.088 to aim for, that's Sergio Perez, he smashes that by 7 tenths of a second.
03:30So has Max Verstappen found any pace himself as Bottas goes a 1.084 and Verstappen, crucially for Red Bull, just a little bit faster to line up on the front row.
03:41Let's take us through this final lap with Verstappen.
03:43Yeah, so he's got Gasly ahead of him at the moment, that's what he has got. I don't know if he's going to be getting some turbulent air from the back of the Alfa Tauri.
03:53He'll get a bit of slipstream, but this is mostly corners in the middle of the lap and there's Gasly ahead of us.
03:58So he's Turn 4, crank it in, carried a lot of speed through there, and his first sector then is not even his personal best.
04:07It looked a bit of a handful through Turn 2, didn't it, at the bottom of the hill?
04:11Yeah, he was 2.5 tenths down, was Max Verstappen and Hamilton pretty much matching his best first sector tyre.
04:19And this next right-hander, and actually, yeah, is Turn 8, where he said the front tyres were giving up on him.
04:28And again, he had to have a couple of bites getting in there. It's not really going that well, is it, so far?
04:33Behind him, as he sets a personal best in the middle sector, oh, and then gets all out of shape as he gets the power down.
04:40Bottas has set a personal best in the first sector. It's the middle sector that we'll be watching with interest to see if he can get above Max Verstappen.
04:47Hamilton is cruising, it seems, on his way to winning and qualifying here.
04:52Bottas significantly worse than Max Verstappen through that middle sector as Perez goes forth fastest.
04:57Hamilton will cross the line now. He's not been headed in this qualifying session at all.
05:02He goes faster still, and the crowd absolutely love it. Hamilton on top in qualifying here at Interlagos.
05:08And Bottas didn't quite make the front row. That's a relief for Max Verstappen and Red Bull,
05:13because the end of his lap was pretty scrappy. He did a 108.6 did Max on that final lap,
05:19with the few adventures that we saw as well, for good measure. And that's a massive relief.
05:24But the two championship contenders side by side again on the front of the sprint.
