00:24In this digital age, having a good product simply isn't enough. It also needs to make an impression online.
00:33Hence, the Department of Trade and Industry, in collaboration with GoNegosho and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council, is championing e-commerce and digital tools through its MSME Bayanihan Caravan, a much-needed lifeline for small business owners, particularly in far-flung provinces.
00:50The initiative aims to provide MSMEs access to what GoNegosho calls the 3Ms, mentorship, market and money, the essential ingredients for business success.

01:24Gone are the days of shelling out a fortune for traditional TV ads or hiring celebrity endorsers.

01:35Now is the chance for MSMEs to be able to penetrate and make their products visible and be able to communicate at very, very low cost.
01:46The DTI has also signed a memorandum of understanding with a mobile payment service provider, seeking to widen MSMEs access to financing, digital solutions and support from local councils.
01:58The DTI stresses that money isn't the only hurdle. Understanding the right market and how to reach it using available tools and government support is just as critical.
