00:00And we are back. The new Department of Information and Communications Technology, Secretary Henry Aguda,

00:06ordered to intensify the department's efforts to combat text and online scams, which is rampant even during Holy Week.

00:14According to DICT spokesperson, Assistant Secretary Renato Paraiso, beside text scams,

00:21the scammers are now choosing over-the-top media services, which do not use SIM cards, but rather internet like Viber and Messenger.

00:29Meanwhile, DICT Secretary Aguda instructed the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center to be vigilant in fighting against scammers

00:38as well as fake news peddlers and those who operate illegal online gambling sites.

00:44The DICT also urged the public to report if they are receiving scam messages to identify and investigate those people behind it.
