JP and BMitch react to the Commanders deciding to retire the jersey of wide receiver legend Art Monk.
Transcript
00:00Long overdue. The commanders just tweeted out from their official account. They will retire Art Monk's number this season. Yes. That is really cool. Well deserved. Well, well deserved. Long overdue. Yeah, man. Very long overdue. Listen to me, dude. I met many people in my life, but the combination that that dude has is like the hardest working dude you're going to find. Tough as nails.
00:26Can't get him to say a damn word, but he's the most competitive person you're going to find out there. Class dude on the football field, class off the field. Everybody respected him. Very much like Terry. You know, they're very, very similar in the way that they act. But Art, you know, just he's talked to him today. Same way he was when I met him as a 21-year-old knucklehead. I was a total knucklehead. And that dude was always cool as hell to me. So, you know what? Well deserved.
00:56Great, great, great move by the group right now. Didn't he give you some advice coming off your rookie year? Oh, yeah. Told me don't take very long off, you know.
01:07He and Darryl Green, I was talking to both of them dudes about how long they took off. And guys were like, yeah, you know, I'm going to chill for about a month, two months. They were like, man, a week or two.
01:18They never really got away from the weight that they played at. They always started to do something real quick. And I started to do that after my second year because first year I came back, I was about almost 30 pounds heavier.
01:29Really?
01:29Oh, bro.
01:30Oh, bro.
