Wizards play-by-play commentator Chris Miller believes the newly acquired Cam Whitmore could be special with extended minutes this season.

00:00Two of my favorite players in that draft class was Bilal Koulibaly and Cam Whitmore.
00:04And now they're on the same team.
00:06So I think this is a tremendous opportunity for Cam to kind of come close to home.
00:11He's from the Baltimore area.
00:13And it's a great opportunity for the Wizards.
00:15It was really a low cost to trade for him, the second-round pitch.
00:19This kid has a ton of talent.
00:21I don't think talent is the issue with him.
00:24I just think the opportunity in Houston wasn't plentiful for him
00:27because there was a logjam of a lot of young players that they wanted to take a look at down there.
00:33So much so that the guy that they drafted third overall last year, Reed Shepard, he barely even played.
00:39So this is a Houston team that was second in the West in the regular season.
00:42Now they go out and get that Kevin Durant.
00:44And I think you could see the writing was on the wall for him that there wasn't going to be a lot of minutes.
00:49So I give the Rockets a lot of credit.
00:50They worked a deal with Washington to bring him here.
00:53And he's going to get a nice runway to show the league why he is a really dynamic offensive player.
01:01I'm interested to see how he develops on the defensive end.
01:04But he has all the skills to be a really good player in this league, D-Mitch.
