Mark Zuckerman isn't sure if the Washington Nationals will ultimately get rid of ace Mackenzie Gore but he does believe it is a possibility.

00:00mackenzie gore there's plenty of interest from contending teams in him it really boils down to
00:05is mike de bartolo willing to move his ace who has two more years of control how much would he
00:12ask for in a trade and then on top of that all would ownership give him the approval to make
00:16that kind of trade because that's a big one that you've got to be able to justify to your fan base
00:21why you're trading away supposedly one of your core young pieces do you think that's a possibility
00:26i think it's possible i'm not going to say it's likely though i i think there's a lot of hurdles
00:31to get there and i i take mike de bartolo at his word when he said to us he'll listen when people
00:37are calling and they've been calling for sure but he's not actively trying to move gore now that said
00:43somebody calls in and they say hey we're going to give you you know these three top 50 prospects in
00:50baseball for uh an ace who has two and a half years of control then you might have to say okay
00:56that is more valuable to us and we're willing to do that um i think that's what it boils down to will
01:02anyone cross that threshold whatever it is that's willing to give up something of real consequence if
01:08you make that move you've got to be able to sell it to everybody your fan base the ownership everybody
01:12and say i had to do this was too good to pass up is that going to happen i'm going to say probably not
01:19but i didn't think that the soto deal was going to happen three years ago and look at what aj preller
01:24offered from the padres and in the end as hard as that was they got three all-stars out of it
