Santana Moss discusses his journey from Miami walk on to Washington football legend.
Transcript
00:00Say Miami, say the Hurricanes just gave you a football scholarship.
00:04You didn't have to come in via track and then walk on and everything.
00:07Do you ever wonder if there was a different break if you'd be in the same spot?
00:12You know what?
00:13That's a great question, but I'm going to tell you like this.
00:16Being that I had other scholarships for football, other places,
00:19I could have easily just went on and said, I want to experience it that way.
00:24What made me do it in Miami is because, one, I just didn't want to go away from home.
00:28I didn't want to go to the cold.
00:30So I honestly put myself in that pressure.
00:33You know, I didn't have to go out there and say I'm going to be a walk-on.
00:36I did it because, you know how we say you can't get everything your way?
00:40I said to myself, that's how my life's been.
00:43I get one thing, but I got to go around, above, beyond to get it.
00:48My friend get it just off the rip.
00:50Damn, why you got it so easy?
00:52It's always been like that for me.
00:54So when that opportunity came, I had that talk with myself.
00:58I said, Tanner, you could go to Pittsburgh.
01:01You can go to Utah.
01:02You can go to Western Michigan.
01:03Western Michigan was my first choice because my friends was going there.
01:07So I'm like, I'm going to be there with my guy Bo.
01:09I'm going to be there with my guy Scrapiron.
01:11Man, Miami, we're going to take over Western Michigan.
01:13You know, they highly recruited a lot of us.
01:15So, yeah, I might do that.
01:17Then I was like, you know what?
01:18But if you go there and knowing you had this opportunity to stay home and play at the University of Miami, you'll be mad at yourself.
01:27You'll be kicking yourself in the behind.
