so I am Phil but I guess I'm more commonly known as Hercule Van Wolfwinkel and he's the guy that
00:09
draws the some people call them silly and other people call them endearing and I still call them
00:14
like rubbish portraits of people's pets and so yeah so that's what I do so I draw I draw rubbish
00:22
portraits of people's pets basically to raise money for charity so tell me a little bit about
00:29
the rubbish pat portrait fundraising adventure um so that's it's how everything's happened sort of so
00:36
organically and accidentally and it all started back in the summer of 2020 um and I was drawing
00:44
at home with my then six-year-old son and I just shared this picture that I drew with Sam um of
00:51
our dog Nala um just out to my friends on Facebook and it was and it was rubbish like I it's uh it was
00:59
it was a terrible picture because I'm not an artist um or I wasn't back then um and I put it out just
01:05
to my friends with this jokey comment about pet portraits being for sale and to come and place
01:09
your orders and um it's uh I mean long very long story short it basically exploded and turned into
01:16
something which um five years later is still kind of trundling on and has raised um over 450 000 pounds
01:24
for charity and then tell me a little bit then firstly about um street vet and and why you picked
01:31
them as a charity so street vet um like I said earlier about this sort of project being organic
01:38
and street vet kind of came into it quite organically as well um so I started out by I was just raising
01:44
money for my local homelessness charity turning tides um and I'd been doing that for um a good few months
01:52
so that was just six or seven months into it and um Jade Sapp who's one of the co-founders of street
01:59
vet approached me during that time and it was really just a kind of introduction she just kind
02:04
of messaged me to say that she'd seen what I was doing and really loved it and kind of told me a
02:10
little bit about street vet and what they do and and I'll admit to not knowing anything about street
02:15
vet um at that time but me and Jade um spoke at great length and we had a zoom meeting and just
02:22
chatted and um when I found out about the work that they do um it was just a perfect fit because here
02:29
I was drawing people's pets to raise money and awareness for a homelessness charity and then suddenly
02:35
I become aware of this charity that are there you know their mission is to provide free and accessible
02:40
veterinary care for the pets of those experiencing homelessness it was just this kind of like
02:45
you know you couldn't have written it better if you'd tried um and so I kind of fell in love with
02:52
the charity pretty much straight away um and I loved what they do um and their mission and the passion
02:58
that Jade had for the charity
02:59
