There is always loads to do in the city of bristol and this week is no different! From a new Popeyes restaurant to a new stokes croft cafe, today we find out about what we can do in the city
00:00So as ever, there is loads to do in the city of Bristol, from theatre to film, food to drink.
00:07So let's start with the What's On Guide.
00:09So Westbury on Trim used to have a wildlife park and it has now been converted into a sea pool.
00:16So can you tell me a little bit more about that?
00:18Yeah, that's right. A former sea pool has become Bristol's newest cold swimming spot alongside a sauna at the former Westbury Wildlife Park.
00:28It is pitched as a wellness experience with an organic cold plunge pool and wood-fired sauna.
00:35The cold plunge pools are believed to boost circulation, reduce inflammation and sharpened mental clarity,
00:42whilst the soothing heat of the wood-fired sauna is said to relax muscles and release tension.
00:48Oh, that sounds like an exciting convert for the former wildlife park, which was a very popular spot in the city.
00:55So shall we move on to theatre then?
00:57Bristol Old Vic always has a lot on. Loads of different genres. What have they got on at the moment?
01:04Well, there's so much going on, especially in the next coming weeks.
01:07Some of the shows include The Beautiful Future is Coming, which is running until June 7th.
01:14Bristol Old Vic Theatre School Summer Festival from May 22nd to June 14th.
01:19And the Thunder Run Experience.
01:22There's also theatre tours happening until July 18th, where guests can learn all about the oldest continuously running theatre in the UK.
01:31That's a very exciting one and especially an iconic theatre within the Southwest.
01:35So shall we move on to festivals then?
01:38Love Saves the Day is coming up.
01:39It's an iconic festival.
01:41I mean, it's brought in loads of amazing DJs and performers.
01:45And this year is going to be just that.
01:47So tell me a little bit about Love Saves the Day.
01:49Yeah, well, the iconic Love Saves the Day music festival will be returning to Ashton Court from May 24th to the 25th.
01:57The event will bring some of the most exciting DJs and live performances from across the country,
02:03including Over Mono, Nia Archives, Scream and Benga, Gigs, Hybrid Minds and Posa,
02:10alongside a host of drum and bass, dance and electronic royalty,
02:14to keep festival goers moving all weekend long.
02:17That sounds very exciting.
02:20And it's become an iconic part of Bristol's festival calendar.
02:25So shall we finally skip back to the theatre and look at Bristol Hippodrome
02:29that is currently got the Chicago UK tour visiting?
02:34Chicago is a very well-known show with characters Roxy, Velma, Mama Morton
02:40and some brilliant songs like the Cellbox Tango.
02:42Tell me a little bit about that.
02:44Well, yeah, the top's the sexiest musical ever.
02:48Chicago's back to Bristol for until from May 19th to 24th.
02:53I sat amidst the razzle dazzle the cantons of the 1920s.
