So as ever it has been a very busy week in the city of Bristol, so can you tell me what is the
00:05
top news story in the city this week? Well unfortunately an iconic Bristol store is set
00:12
to close at the end of the month after being open for 116 years. So sadly the Bristol Guild
00:21
of Applied Arts, more or more locally known as the Guild, announced they will be closing their
00:27
doors on May 30. The venue opened in 1908 as a space for artists and craftsmen to come together,
00:37
learn from each other and sell their wares. Earlier in the week on their Facebook page
00:43
the Guild announced they will be closing down on May 30 and they will be having a closing sale.
00:52
Thank you, so that is a sad one for retail in the city.
00:57
Shall we move on to our second top story? Tell me a little bit about that.
01:02
Ryanair recently released their Summer 24 schedule which includes a total of 36 routes,
01:10
which is their biggest schedule to date. Included within the routes is six new destinations.
01:18
Perfect, so shall we move on to our third top story in the city this week? Tell me about that.
01:23
Yeah, well a Bristol-based nursery has been crowned as one of the top 20 in the South West.
01:30
So Avon Valley Nursery and Preschool was recognised by the Day Nursery Awards within the top 20 of
01:38
1,237 nurseries in the South West. They're also set to expand this summer following the success.
01:47
And they will have 20 more places available as well as more baby spaces on offer from January 2025.
