00:00How did you think Mizoroski handled the Philly scandal where all the Phillies got up in arms about him getting into the All-Star game with five starts?
00:10Yeah, I mean, look, I think he handled it right.
00:12I don't agree with it.
00:13I'm on board with every single thing that you try in baseball to make it more exciting and make it better.
00:19I'm on board.
00:19You want to do pitch clocks.
00:20You want to do golden bat.
00:22Somebody comes in to try and hit a home run late in the game as a pinch hitter that's not even in the lineup.
00:26I'm all on board for that stuff.
00:28But what I'm not on board is taking my money.
00:31There's a lot of players out there that probably deserved it more than Mizoroski did that are not going to get paid that All-Star bonus.
00:38And also, the other thing, Scott, is I don't know if you are all that familiar with how these arbitration hearings work and when these guys are in the room.
00:45But what happens is the people who are presiding over how much money to give the players in the end are not even baseball fans.
00:53So you have these lawyers and these teams saying this guy's not good.
00:56And then you have the lawyer, the agent, saying, but my guy was an All-Star.
01:00And that's just hard to deny if you don't know a lot about baseball.
01:02We got to fix that, man.
01:04We got to fix that.
01:04I don't think we can keep naming All-Stars after five games.
01:07Can't do it.
01:08I would agree with that.
01:09Now, I really don't get caught up in who gets snubbed.
01:14But I did get a little like I didn't understand the Soto snub.
01:20Because if you look at it, it should be like the whole first half, right?
01:24Like it seems to me like he was judged for three quarters of it and not the whole thing.
01:30Because I thought the last three weeks, four weeks, the guy was maybe the best hitter in baseball.
01:35I mean, or close to it.
01:37Right.
01:37So I think it's a little bit layered there.
01:40I think he deserves to be an All-Star.
01:43I think what's happened, it's pretty obvious that once the fans didn't vote him in, that he's not very well liked amongst other players in baseball.
01:50Because he didn't really get any player voting to put him in the game.
01:53So I guess that's like a whole other can of worms at some point that we'll have to evaluate.
01:58But as far as sheer numbers are concerned, is Soto an All-Star?
02:01Yes, of course.
02:02But Scott, so is Seah Suzuki on the Cubs, too.
02:05I mean, leading the league in and you don't get in.
02:08Kind of crazy.
02:08I mean, that team is really tough.
02:12And I know they opened with the Red Sox coming out Friday.
02:14How do you think the Cubs will do the rest of the way with, as we mentioned, the Brewers hot on their tail, like as if they were in the Tour de France?
02:23Yeah, they've collapsed the last couple of years, Scott.
02:26So I'm not really sure what will happen in the end.
02:28I hope that they're better fortified this time around.
02:30But I would tell you that they did not have two players this time around that they will this year.
02:35I mean, I guess Pete Crow Armstrong was there, but he's much better now.
02:38But they have Pete Crow Armstrong and Kyle Tucker.
02:40I mean, that's formidable to have anywhere in a lineup.
02:43And so, to me, that's a big game changer for the Cubs.
02:45And I don't see him as a World Series champ, but they should make the postseason this year.
