00:03Me and you have been talking about who's going to start for the National League
00:07in terms of the starting pitcher.
00:10We've been talking all week about Skeens or Wheeler or who's it going to be.
00:13I found out this morning, I didn't know this,
00:15that the manager doesn't pick the starting pitcher anymore.
00:20Major League Baseball decides.
00:22Is that right?
00:23Yeah, I guess it's Manfred and the office decide who's going to start the game.
00:27They ask the manager for a suggestion.
00:30But all in all, they're the ones who decide who starts.
00:33So that might help Skeens too.
00:35I think they would want Skeens to start the game.
00:38Now, wait a minute.
00:39What you said was interesting.
00:40They ask the manager what he thinks and then they make the decision anyway.
00:44Why even ask him?
00:46Right.
00:47I think that it said the manager has a little small input.
00:52They get asked who they think should start.
00:54It's taken into consideration.
00:55But Major League Baseball is the ones that ultimately decide which pitcher starts the All-Star game now.
01:02How about this?
01:04Skeens with that 195 ERA in over 200 innings over two years and over a year and a few months.
01:12Let's let's calm down with two years over a year and a few months.
01:16And then you got the guy that's in the quitter club.
01:19We just gave him his own locker in a parking place.
01:22Is there anything worse than a guy saying I'm going to quit in two years?
01:27I'm retiring in two years.
01:29I'm done.
01:29And he announces it two years before he's doing it.
01:32So this is it for me.
01:33I'm going to retire.
01:35I want to be around my kids in 2027.
01:38So this is everybody.
01:39Like, can we not have the quitter start the All-Star game?
01:42He's already quitting.
01:43And like, you know, I'm out of here.
01:45I'm taking all this money and I'm out of here.
01:47I don't like him to begin with.
01:49I don't like the Phillies to begin with.
01:51And can I have some happiness with Paul Skeens?
01:55Because he doesn't have any playing in Pittsburgh.
01:57And I'm also rooting for the cruise missile to win the home run contest.
02:01Because, again, I have nothing but failure and losing.
02:03And, you know, bottom line is in Pittsburgh, if you're a baseball fan, two things.
02:07One, life sucks.
02:09Two, my buddy said it best.
02:10I haven't watched a game in five years.
02:12That's how bad they saw it.
02:13That my friend who lives in Pittsburgh hasn't watched in five years.
02:16Do you understand?
02:17When you live in New York, you have the Mets or Yankees on the TV no matter what.
02:21No matter where you are, every day of the summer.
02:23It happens every night, everywhere, in every bar.
02:26Everywhere you go, at your house.
02:28It's always on, right?
02:29In Pittsburgh, they don't do that.
02:30You know why?
02:31Because the Pirates suck that bad.
02:35They do suck that bad.
02:37But I think it actually just moves to, I think baseball wants to be able to spend 24 hours going Skeens versus Scooble to start the All-Star game.
02:47Like, I think that that's something that they'll be able to.
02:50And they should have pitched against each other a few weeks ago in that double adder.
