00:00When I watch Paul Skeens throw a complete game and lose 1-0,
00:04and I see his face on the mound and after the game in the locker room
00:10doing interviews, that guy looks like he wants to run away to Canada
00:15and live in the woods.
00:17I mean, he just looks so miserable playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
00:21Like, he is one unhappy-looking dude, if you ask me.
00:23I don't care what his contract says.
00:26I don't care about his future because he has no future there.
00:31I mean, they just have screwed him up from the beginning,
00:36and he just looks so unhappy to me.
00:38It's not even funny.
00:39Well, I don't think there's much doubt that he is.
00:42The first year, I don't agree with the from the beginning part
00:46because when they got him out there,
00:49they had a pretty good top end of their starting rotation,
00:52obviously led by him, but then Jared Jones, Mitch Keller.
00:55It's a pretty good top end of the rotation if they're all healthy.
00:59Now Jared Jones is injured, hasn't played.
01:02I don't think he's thrown at all this year in a game.
01:06If he has, it was very limited.
01:09So he's been out.
01:11Keller doesn't give any run support as he didn't last night.
01:15It's bad.
01:16But what happened is they went into the offseason with the promise of this high,
01:21of this top end of the rotation, and they did nothing to complement that,
01:26either by bringing in another ace, you know, somebody else to put into the rotation,
01:32or to go out and get a bunch of bats to support what stood up as a promising rotation.
01:39All of that is what frustrates a player like Skeens.
01:44Again, as I said, this is not easy for a team like the Pirates.
01:47They could certainly do better than they do,
01:49but it's not easy because everything is stacked against them.
01:53But you can do better than they have on the field,
01:57and you can do much better than they have off the field.
01:59You can do better than they have on the field.
