00:00Florida.
00:07Can I tell y'all a story?
00:11So last year in the presidential campaign trail, I was all over the country campaigning for President Trump.
00:17I was everywhere. It was wild.
00:19Honestly, it was a surreal time because, you know, I'm from inner city Brooklyn.
00:25I moved to Florida almost 30 years ago at the age of 17.
00:30I went to college in Tallahassee, FAMU in Florida State.
00:33Go Noles.
00:36Those are my guys right there.
00:37Those are my guys.
00:40Although, I'm running for governor.
00:42I love all of our universities.
00:44I love them all.
00:46We have the best university system in the entire country.
00:50It's a beautiful, beautiful system.
00:51So as a guy who came here with nothing, I never thought in my wildest dreams I would be a surrogate for a candidate for President of the United States.
01:02And because I'm from New York, I really never thought I would be a surrogate for Donald Trump.
01:07It's like a New York thing, you know, something I never really thought was ever going to happen.
01:12But it's happening and we're going all over the country.
01:14And my team would schedule events and I would go into different arenas, you know, different symposiums, conferences, everywhere, talking about the president's agenda, what we were going to do to make America great again.
01:26And one of my colleagues, you know her, she was supposed to debate me a couple times.
01:35The president refers to her as Crockett.
01:41And so Crockett was supposed to debate me.
01:46And a funny thing happened.
01:48Her schedule would always change.
01:53I would be ready to go.
01:54So my team would say, all right, sir, she's coming in, you're coming in, you're going to debate about this stuff.
01:59And it would change.
02:00And miraculously, she couldn't do it.
02:03I think I remember one time we were in Philadelphia.
02:05And we were supposed to do a debate for NPR.
02:10And all of a sudden, her schedule changed.
02:14And the reason why the schedule kept changing is because we understood very quickly that when you try to debate
02:21somebody who knows the facts, somebody who knows the facts, has a substance, brings common sense, and has a better argument,
02:28it's better for your schedule just to change.
02:30It might be better for you to just find something else to do.
02:40You see, we live in a country where it is your voice that is what truly matters.
02:46It's not a lot of us who are on stage or even do TV interviews or on social media.
02:51It is your voice.
02:53And the way we expand that voice is that we need hardworking people from all walks of life
02:59who decide that they're going to give a little bit of time to this experiment called America.
03:03Just a little bit of time.
03:09That's what so many of you in this crowd and so many others who couldn't join us this weekend here in Tampa.
03:15This is the hard work you did last year.
03:18And look, I get it.
03:19As somebody who's knocked doors, trust me, I've knocked doors.
03:23I've knocked doors in the heat.
03:25I've knocked doors looking like this.
03:27Can you imagine knocking doors in a suit in July in Florida?
03:35He's shaking his head.
03:36He's like, nah, man.
03:37Nah, we're not doing it.
03:39But you got to look good, baby.
03:40You got to dress for the job.
03:41You got to show up at the door and be like, I'm here for you.
03:48And so I've knocked doors.
03:50Done it.
03:51I've been on the phone.
03:53Did it.
03:53I helped people find what list they were going to look through to call.
03:58Been there.
03:59I know the hard work all of you have done.
04:02And that is how you extend that branch.
04:05That's how you reach the people of our country.
04:08It's door to door, call to call, person to person.
04:11We will find candidates who will bring candidates who will uphold the principles of conservatism,
04:17the principles of liberty, who fight for America,
04:20who are always going to stand on the right side of history.
04:23But if that candidate doesn't have you,
04:28well, that's a tree that just falls in the forest with no one around.
04:34That tree doesn't make a sound.
04:38And so I will tell you, political activism is critical for the future.
04:45I get it, man.
04:45We're riding high.
04:46Listen, Donald Trump is on a win streak.
04:50We've never seen anything like this.
04:52We've never seen anything like this.
04:59I mean, it's just win after win after win.
05:01People are excited.
05:02People are excited.
05:03People are excited.
05:03All right.
05:03I mean, my name is David Luskin.
05:05Thanks David Luskin.
05:19We'll see you next time.
05:20You're gonna be excited.
05:21It's a comment to my colleague who's 100%Ņ€ĐžĐēؐ
