The Johor Fire and Rescue Department on Sunday (July 13) confirmed that none of the victims in the two-motorcycle crash near Pos Malaysia along Jalan Bazar Karat on Saturday (July 12) night had fallen into the nearby seawater channel, as initially believed.

00:00Three individuals were injured in a two-motorcycle accident along Jalan Bazar Karat, near Post
00:08Malaysia in Johor Bahru, on Saturday night.
00:11According to Johor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Commander PBK-1 Firdaus Abdullah,
00:17the incident occurred around 10.49 p.m. and involved a motorcycle and another bike with
00:23an unconfirmed registration number.
00:26Several reports suggested that one of the victims had fallen into a nearby seawater
00:31channel.
00:32However, a final review of CCTV footage from the Johor Bahru City Council confirmed that
00:37none of the victims had entered the water.
00:40Only one individual was thrown from the impact and was taken to Sultana Amina Hospital for
00:45treatment, bringing the total number of victims to three.
00:49Earlier, 16 personnel from the Larkin and Skudai Fire and Rescue Stations, including members
00:55of the Water Rescue Team, had launched a search operation based on the initial report.
01:01With the latest findings, the operation has since been called off, and the case is no longer
01:06being treated as a possible drowning.
