A Malaysian national has been confirmed among the three bodies recovered during a search and rescue (SAR) operation following the ferry capsizing tragedy in the Bali Strait late on the night of July 2.

Fauzey Awang, 55, was found in the waters off Perancak Beach, Bali, according to Eko Suyatno, Deputy of Operations and Preparedness at Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).

00:09The victim, 55-year-old Fauzi Awang, was found in the waters off Peranchak Beach in
00:15Bali, according to Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency known as Basarnas.
00:21Basarnas Deputy of Operations and Preparedness, Eko Suyatno, said that Fauzi's body, along
00:28with two others identified as Indonesian nationals, was recovered during the search operation.
00:34His remains were taken to Blambangan Hospital in Banyuwangi, East Java, for identification
00:39by the Disaster Victim Identification Unit of the Indonesian police.
00:44Out of the 65 people who were on board the ferry KMP Tunupratamajaya, 45 have been accounted
00:51for, with 30 survivors and 15 confirmed fatalities.
00:56Earlier reports stated that Fauzi was travelling in a tourist van that was aboard the ferry.
