Wisma Putra has confirmed the death of Malaysian citizen Fauzey Awang in the tragic sinking of the KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya passenger ferry in the Bali Strait on July 2.

In its final media advisory on the incident, the Foreign Ministry said that all consular processes have now concluded.

00:00Malaysia's foreign ministry on Tuesday said its citizen who died in the tragic ferry-sinking
00:07incident in the Bali Strait in Indonesia had been laid to rest.
00:11The ministry said Fauzi Awang's next of kin arrived in Surabaya and traveled to the Banyuwangi
00:16Hospital on July 11.
00:19The family then completed the documentation, transportation of the deceased and burial
00:24rights on the same day with the help of the police and government agencies.
00:28The ministry said the burial in Indonesia was carried out in accordance with the deceased's
00:33final wishes.
00:34They said the Malaysian embassy in Jakarta will be prepared to help the deceased's family
00:39with any remaining consular needs.
00:41The 55-year-old Fauzi was among the 18 people perished in the incident on July 2.
00:48He was traveling in a tourist van on board the KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya Ferry, which sank 25 minutes
00:54after departing from Keripang Port in Banyuwangi for Gilimanuk Port in Bali.
