It was a topsy-turvy Day 2 of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test with both India and England having their moments at the Lord's Cricket Ground on July 11. Joe Root got to his 37th Test century with a four off the first ball of the day. But Jasprit Bumrah brought India right back into the contest, taking three wickets in quick time. At first, he dismissed England captain Ben Stokes (44) and returned to scalp the wickets of Joe Root (104) and Chris Woakes (0) off consecutive deliveries. Jamie Smith (51) and Brydon Carse (56) then joined forces with a partnership worth 84 runs and they took England close to the 400-run mark. Jasprit Bumrah finished with a five-wicket haul when he dismissed Jofra Archer and registered figures of 5/74. It was his maiden five-wicket haul at the Lord's Cricket Ground and this achievement will get his name on the Lord's Honours Board. England were bowled out for 387 and apart from Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj (2/85), Nitish Kumar Reddy (2/62) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/29) were among the wickets. India in response, were 145/3 at stumps. KL Rahul struck an unbeaten 53 at the ground where he has scored a century in the past and alongside him was Rishabh Pant (19*) who returned from his injury. Chris Woakes (1/56), Ben Stokes (1/16) and Jofra Archer (1/22) have been England's wicket-takers so far.
