India finds themselves in a position of control in the IND vs ENG 2nd Test 2025 at Edgbaston after a good outing on Day 3. Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep were the star performers for India on Day 3 as they picked up six and four wickets, respectively. Action on Day 3 started with Mohammed Siraj dismissing both Joe Root and Ben Stokes early on and it seemed that England were staring at a low score in their first innings, being reduced to 84/5. But Harry Brook and Jamie Smith had other ideas. The two right-handers led a terrific counter-attack with a mammoth 303-run partnership. Harry Brook (158) smashed his ninth Test hundred while Jamie Smith etched his name in the history books, with a solid 184*, the highest score by an England wicketkeeper in Test cricket. But Akash Deep was the one who ended their partnership when he dismissed Harry Brook and England went on to be bowled out for 407 runs in their first innings, conceding a lead of 180 runs. Mohammed Siraj picked up his fourth Test five-wicket haul (6/70) while Akash Deep finished with four wickets (4/88). In response, India was 64/1 at stumps with a 244-run lead. KL Rahul (28*) and Karun Nair (7*) were at the crease at stumps.
