00:51Hello and welcome to From the South. I'm Alejandra Garcia from Telesur Studios in Havana, Cuba. We begin with the news.
00:58The 9th International Seminar of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, concluded in Vienna, Austria, after two days of debates on energy transition and crude production capacity.
01:10The 9th International Seminar of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, concluded in Vienna, Austria, after two days of debates on energy transition and crude production capacity.
01:22The Biennale Seminar was held from July 9th to 10th, with the participation of over 1,000 ministers representing OPEC countries and allies, as well as oil and gas CEOs, policymakers and analysts.
01:37The event, OPEC's World Oil Outlook 2050 book was launched, containing a weather-spanning analysis estimating an increasing oil demand, with India, the Middle East and Africa among key growth drivers.
01:51Across speeches and interviews, OPEC ministers advocated for an approach to the green transition that still allows investment in hydrocarbons, protecting an equilibrium between renewable and traditional sources of energy.
02:05In this context, Venezuelan vice-president Delcy Rodriguez warned of the targeting of oil exports in countries by means of unilateral sanctions that hinder their production.
02:22OPEC's General Secretary Haitham Alga is reiterated Thursday in Vienna, Austria, that the bloc is strong and will successfully face all challenges as it has done during its 65 years of existence.
02:33OPEC is strong. OPEC has existed for 65 years now, since its foundation in 1960. We went through many historical challenges, and we are going to face all the challenges, along with the challenges we have opportunities.
02:56I think the issue of climate change is being discussed in a more pragmatic way compared to the last three years. We have more realism, more pragmatism.
03:08On the other hand, the OPEC's Secretary General predicted that oil will dominate almost 30% of the world's energy matrix by 2050 and that OPEC member countries will invest what's necessary to face that challenge.
03:22At OPEC, we have the view that the world will need all sources of energy, and that oil will dominate almost 30% of the energy matrix by 2050.
03:40And this has only one clear message from us to the world, and that is that we will continue to invest in the oil sector in our member countries.
03:55Venezuela's National Assembly agreed Thursday to denounce the European Union as a sponsor of the genocide and extermination of children, women and civilians in the Gaza Strip.
04:04The accusation also includes the crime of laundering the proceeds of drug trafficking.
04:10Congressman Pedro Carreño denounced that the European Union created a financial system to receive money from drug trafficking, corruption and organized crime.
04:19The lawmaker also affirmed that humanity rejects the Israeli crimes in Palestine as well as NATO members' financial assistance to Ukraine.
04:29On the other hand, Parliament's President Jorge Rodriguez reiterated that the European Union is involved in crimes against humanity and in the laundering of drug money and arms and human trafficking.
04:44On the other hand, the President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Jorge Rodriguez, accused Europe of being the main market and industry for arms and human trafficking.
04:54We have only received desolation and death from Europe.
05:03Hypocritically wrapped up, I will vote with my two hands on the agreement.
05:10I also agree that the other elements about money laundering are included because they launder not only drug money but also the money from arms and human trafficking.
05:28The main market, business and evil human trafficking industry is Europe.
05:37The first in the world.
05:41Young men and women are abducted as they were in the 16th and 17th centuries from Africa, America and Asia.
05:53But it is the main industry for human trafficking.
05:58Venezuela's security forces killed a criminal linked to the ultra-right-wing comanditos.
06:03The Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, informed that the citizen Darwin, René Mendoza Peraza, nicknamed El Cachete, would have led bandit groups linked to extreme right to generate post-electoral violence in July 2024.
06:19Cabello detailed that alias Cachete confronted police officers during an operation in Caracas where two agents were wounded.
06:26The official assured that these actions are a response to neutralized extremist groups that insist on destabilizing the peace and tranquility of the Venezuelan people.
06:40In the sector of Guarataro today, the citizen Darwin, René Mendoza Peraza, better known as Cachete, one of the leaders who tried to attack the palace and linked to the if-feigned comanditos, today had a confrontation with the Scientific Penal and Criminalistic Investigation Service Corps, and unfortunately for him, he died.
07:07In Venezuela, thousands of citizens demonstrated to demand the release of children kidnapped in the United States as part of the immigration policies implemented by Donald Trump's administration.
07:18The Venezuelan people took to the streets of the city of Caracas in defense of the human and migratory rights of their fellow citizens in the United States, as well as the release of the detained children in addition to denouncing the kidnapping of Venezuelan migrants in El Salvador.
07:35The Great March took place after the denouncement of the Venezuelan Minister of Interior Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, about the kidnapping of another four Venezuelan children separated from their parents at the time of their deportation.
