Doncaster Free Press Daily Bulletin with Stephanie Bateman - Wednesday July 9, 2025
Transcript
00:00Morning it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Wednesday July the 9th just bringing you
00:04some of our top headlines this morning. First of all a man has been arrested and more than 300
00:09cannabis plants seized after police raided a Doncaster house. Officers from the South
00:14Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a drugs warrant at an address in Mexborough.
00:19There was a large cannabis cultivation located inside with around 320 plants seized. A male
00:26occupant was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis. He was subsequently charged and remanded
00:34to court. That story is on our website already this morning for you. And then something that
00:41came from our central team. The most polluted places in Doncaster including four spots above
00:47the legal limit have been revealed. The air quality is monitored at 78 locations across
00:52Doncaster and 17 of those places. The air you're breathing is so dirty that nitrogen dioxide
01:01levels are more than three times the World Health Organization's recommended limit. Please have
01:06a read of that. It's very very interesting indeed. Yeah and that is also on the website as well.
01:13And then finally police response officers in Doncaster tracked down and arrested a robber
01:17just 32 minutes after receiving a report of an attack at a cache point in the city centre.
01:23The police's CCTV control room were able to find footage of the robbery which took place at an ATM
01:28in St. Sepulchagate and quickly identified Lewis Robson as the offender. Robson targeted his victim
01:36by following him to the cache point before attacking him after he inserted his card into the machine.
01:41Full stories also on the website at www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk and also Facebook and X.
01:52And I hope you have a great Wednesday.
