00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:19We acknowledge our sins, we acknowledge the great compassion, the mercy, and the love of our God.
00:25We are with us always, Lord, have mercy. You forgive our sins, Christ, have mercy.
00:32And you call us away from confusion and fear into love, Lord, have mercy.
00:38May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
00:46Let us pray.
00:47O God, who in the abasement of your Son have raised up a fallen world,
00:52fill you are faithful with holy joy, for on those you have rescued from slavery to sin,
00:58you bestow eternal gladness through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
01:03who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
01:12A reading from the book of Genesis.
01:14Jacob rose, Jacob rose, and taking his two wives and two slave girls and his eleven children,
01:23he crossed the ford of the Jacob.
01:26He took them and sent them across the stream and sent all his possessions over too.
01:34And Jacob was left alone.
01:36And there was one that wrestled with him until daybreak,
01:41who, seeking that he should not master him, struck him in the socket of his hip.
01:48And Jacob's hip was dislocated as he wrestled with him.
01:53He said, Let me go, for day is breaking.
01:57But Jacob answered, I will not let you go unless you bless me.
02:01He then asked, What is your name?
02:05Jacob replied.
02:06He said, Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel,
02:11because you have been strong against God.
02:15You shall prevail against people.
02:18Jacob then made this request.
02:21I beg you, tell me your name.
02:24But he replied, Why do you ask my name?
02:28And he blessed him there.
02:29Jacob named the place Peniel,
02:33because I have seen God face to face, he said,
02:37and I have survived.
02:39The son rose as he left Peniel,
02:43limping because of his hip.
02:45That is the reason why to this day
02:47the Israelites do not eat the Shiitic nerve,
02:51which is in the socket of the hip,
02:54because he had struck Jacob in the socket of the hip on the Shiitic nerve.
03:02The word of the Lord.
03:07Thanks be to God.
03:09In my justice, I shall see your face, O Lord.
03:13In my justice, I shall see your face, O Lord.
03:17Lord, hear a cause that is just.
03:20Pay heed to my cry.
03:22Turn your ear to my prayer.
03:24No deceit is on my lips.
03:26In my justice, I shall see your face, O God.
03:31From you, may my judgment come forth.
03:35Your eyes discern the truth.
03:38You search my heart.
03:40You visit me by night.
03:42You test me, and you find me.
03:44In me, no wrong.
03:46In my justice, I shall see your face, O God.
03:49I am here, and I call.
03:52You will hear me, O God.
03:54Turn your ear to me.
03:56Hear my words.
03:57Display your great love.
03:59You whose right hand saves
04:01your friends from those who rebel against them.
04:05In my justice, I shall see your face, O God.
04:09Guard me as the apple of your eye.
04:11Hide me in the shadow of your wings.
04:15In my justice, I shall see your face
04:17and be filled when I awake
04:20with the sight of your glory.
04:23In my justice, I shall see your face, O God.
04:27Alleluia, alleluia.
04:29I am the good shepherd, says the Lord.
04:32I know my sheep, and mine know me.
04:35Alleluia.
04:40The Lord be with you.
04:43A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
04:45Glory to you, O Lord.
04:49A man was brought to Jesus, a dumb demoniac.
04:53And when the devil was cast out,
04:55the dumb man spoke, and the people were amazed.
04:59Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel, they said.
05:04But the Pharisees said,
05:06it is to the prince of devils that he casts out devils.
05:09Jesus made a tour through all the towns and villages,
05:14teaching in their synagogues,
05:16proclaiming the good news of the kingdom,
05:19and curing all kinds of diseases and sicknesses.
05:23And when he saw the crowds, he felt sorry for them,
05:26because they were harassed and dejected,
05:29like sheep without a shepherd.
05:31Then he said to his disciples,
05:33The harvest is rich, but the laborers are few.
05:37So ask the Lord of the harvest to send laborers to his harvest.
05:41The Gospel of the Lord.
05:46Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
05:51Jesus had compassion because they were harassed,
05:55like sheep without a shepherd.
05:58He went around, overcoming the power of Satan,
06:02the power of sin,
06:04and curing and bringing healing.
06:05His heart ached in love for the people.
06:11God's heart aches in love for us.
06:15What an amazing lover is our God,
06:18inviting us into a loving union with him.
06:22And with the power of Jesus,
06:25we can act in freedom and embrace that invitation,
06:31overcoming the power of evil through Jesus,
06:34and letting it go into wherever Jesus wants it,
06:38away from harm of everyone.
06:42So we are called then to be part of this harvest collecting,
06:46to share in the mission of Jesus,
06:49by the way we live,
06:50by the way we witness to the Gospel,
06:53by the way we connect with others,
06:55all others.
06:56Amen.
07:04Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
07:19for to your goodness we have this bread to offer,
07:21which earth has given,
07:22human hands have made,
07:24it will become for us the bread of life.
07:26Blessed be God forever.
07:28Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
07:48for to your goodness we have this wine to offer,
07:51fruit of divine work of human hands,
07:54it will become our spiritual drink.
07:57Blessed be God forever.
08:13Let us pray, brothers and sisters,
08:15that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable
08:17to God our Almighty Father.
08:19May the Lord accept the sacrifice at our hands
08:22to the praise and glory of his name
08:25for our good and the good of God's Holy Church.
08:28May this oblation dedicated to your name
08:31purify us, O Lord,
08:33and day by day during our conduct
08:35closer to the life of heaven.
08:38Through Christ our Lord.
08:39Amen.
08:41The Lord be with you.
08:44Lift up your hearts.
08:46Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
08:49It is truly right and just,
08:51our duty and our salvation,
08:53always and everywhere,
08:55to give you thanks,
08:56Father most holy,
08:57through your beloved Son,
08:59Jesus Christ,
09:00your word to whom you made all things,
09:03whom you sent as our Saviour and Redeemer,
09:06incarnate by the Holy Spirit
09:07and born of the Virgin,
09:09fulfilling your will
09:10and gaining for you,
09:11our holy people.
09:13He stretched out his hands
09:14as he endured his passion,
09:16so as to break the bonds of death
09:18and manifest the resurrection.
09:20And so with the angels
09:21and all the saints,
09:22we declare your glory
09:24as with one voice we acclaim,
09:27Holy,
09:27Holy,
09:28Holy Lord,
09:29God of hosts.
09:31Heaven and earth
09:31are full of your glory.
09:34Hosanna in the highest.
09:36Blessed is he who comes
09:37in the name of the Lord.
09:39Hosanna in the highest.
09:41You are indeed holy,
09:43O Lord,
09:43the font of all holiness.
09:45Make holy,
09:46therefore,
09:46these gifts we pray,
09:48by sending down your Spirit upon them
09:50like the dewfall,
09:51that they may become for us
09:53the body and blood
09:54of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:56At the time he was betrayed
09:58and entered willingly
09:59into his passion,
10:01he took bread,
10:03and giving thanks,
10:04broke it,
10:05and gave it to his disciples,
10:07saying,
10:07Take this, all of you,
10:08and eat of it,
10:09for this is my body
10:11which will be given up
10:13for you.
10:20In a similar way,
10:21when supper was ended,
10:23he took the chalice,
10:24and once more,
10:25giving thanks,
10:27he gave it to his disciples,
10:28saying,
10:29Take this, all of you,
10:30and drink from it,
10:31for this is the chalice
10:33of my blood,
10:34the blood of the new
10:36and the eternal covenant,
10:37which will be pulled down
10:40for you and for many,
10:41for the forgiveness of sins.
10:44Do this in memory of you.
10:51The mystery of faith,
10:53save us,
10:54Savior of the world,
10:56for by your cross
10:57and resurrection,
10:58you have set us free.
11:01Therefore,
11:02as we celebrate
11:03the memorial of his death
11:04and resurrection,
11:05we offer you,
11:06Lord,
11:07the bread of life
11:07and the chalice of salvation,
11:10giving thanks
11:10that you've held us worthy

11:13and minister to you.

11:17that partaking
