00:00Premier League champions Liverpool are entering another new chapter following the departure
00:08of Jurgen Klopp last summer. There's a clear shift in their transfer strategy to help adapt
00:13fresh talent. After a successful era under Klopp, the club is recalibrating its approach
00:19to squad building and maintain competitiveness and rebuild with renewed vision. The new management
00:26inherits a squad remaining with experience and quality, but it required careful reinforcements
00:32to address key areas. The focus now is on blending young promising talent with proven
00:38performers to make sure they give a real, real performance in terms of defending their Premier
00:44League crown. As the transition is clear, they are simply not replacing players but shaping
00:50a team for the future that can consistently compete at the highest level. This new phase
00:57aims to combine stability with growth and return to consistent title challenges under a different
01:04blueprint. We spoke to Will Rooney of Oopalworld to explore the club's transfer approach, how
01:11they are changing post-Klopp era and how important these summer windows are for the seasons ahead.
01:17In terms of players leaving Liverpool this summer, obviously Trent's gone, Keller has gone
01:26as well. Players where you feel there are still a number of players in the Liverpool side that
01:33would have wanted first team minutes and they're just finding themselves falling short because
01:38the players who are competing in their position had a much better season and a much better output
01:44than them in general. So, who could leave Liverpool? Is there still, you know,
01:48Moomers obviously, Harvey Elliott has been vocal about his playing time, you know, on international
01:54duty as well. He wants to make sure that he's getting some Premier League minutes, you know,
01:58probably more than last season as well.
02:00Yeah, Elliott's an interesting one now with where to come in, as you say. Where does the future
02:06lie for him? Because he sees himself as a number 10. He's not going to play on the right wing
02:10because Mo Salah's there. I don't really think he's a winger either. I think he's a number
02:1610 and Harvey Elliott's maybe looking at this and thinking I might have to move on. Maybe
02:21Liverpool could install a buyback clause like they are doing with Gerald Kwanza going to
02:26buy a Leverkusen. Liverpool, even though they're having a big summer in terms of spending, you
02:34know, say £200 million at least now with the goalkeeper Marmitage Billy coming in as well as
02:39Frim Ponguert and Milos Kierkegaard. It's still going to balance the books. It's still going to be
02:44run sustainably. So Elliott, you could get a good fee for, say Alexander Arnold, Keller has gone,
02:52Kwanza has gone. You're looking at Darwin Nunes. I think everyone accepts it after three years at
02:57Liverpool. It just unfortunately hasn't worked out. It's just struggled for consistency. There's been
03:06some brilliant moments of his Liverpool career. You think of that double off the bench at Newcastle
03:11and you're down to 10 men. The one at Brentford earlier this season coming off the bench and scoring
03:15two late goals. But he's just struggled to find real cast iron consistency. And three years, I think,
03:23is long enough to judge everyone. I think maybe last season we were saying, well, one more year,
03:28we'll give it. And it just hasn't worked out. He started eight Premier League games this season,
03:33which says it all really for, you know, a player who arrived for, you know, £64 million initially.
03:40I don't think the Pearl hit the 85 that could reach. But it's just, you can't say that the Pearl
03:48fans haven't given him a chance at how they've always stuck by him. So I think he's one who move on.
03:53And then with Kerkers coming in, one of our left backs, Andy Robertson, or Costa Simakas,
03:59I think Liverpool would probably rather keep Andy Robertson. Because I don't think Kerkers
04:04is initially coming in to be starting week in, week out. I think it'd be rotated. He'd have to
04:10learn a little bit. And Robertson, his experience would be invaluable in the dressing room. But
04:15he might see his, he might not want to play fewer minutes, especially with the World Cup
04:22coming up. And he might want to go and experience something else at Atletico Madrid, if not Costa
04:26Simakas, to the transfer market again. Centre-back will be a priority now if Gerald Quanta leave
04:33and talk about Mark Gahey. Can Liverpool get the right price for him? Did he go and look at
04:38other options? And then maybe a striker as well, depending on what Arna Sloth fancies.
